Romantik Hotel Florhof  

A lovely boutique hotel - I always try to stay here when I am in Zurich. Very good value by Zurich standards, excellent location, free wi-fi, excellent restaurant, beautiful terrace, lovely rooms, very friendly and helpful staff.

No fresh orange juice at breakfast. Rooms on the small side - but then this is a small hotel.

I spend my working life in hotels, in a word, this one is poor. Don't be fooled by the picture of the double bed in the single rooms, two singles pushed together under a double cover both were well past their sell by date. The room was dank, dour and very dated. On the whole this ranks as the worst hotel I've stayed at in Zurich or anywhere for the the price. Never updated since the 80's i'm sure. On the plus side it's very clean. That's it.

I was given a first floor room that is so close to the adjacent music school they can actually see into the room and you can hear them practicing all day long. It also meant I had to keep the curtains closed if I wanted privacy. The bathroom plastic window curtain is so short I couldn't use it without being conscious that the students at the school can see straight into it the bathroom. That's poor management and poor attention to detail and just about sums the place up.

This is a great hotel. I love the location and the quietness even though it is near the Niederdorf area.

I simply felt very welcomed.

Very pleasant European hotel, rather unique and in a lovely area of the city, and different than the usual tourist hotel. I would definitely recommend it to someone who wants something with a European flavor that is not glitzy, but quite comfortable and charming...

Nice, small and intim hotel.

The welcome was very friendly, and a couple who seemed to be the owners, seemed permanently in attendance. The location is very good, on the edge of the old town, and next to the conservatorium - strains of violin wafted over when I opened my bedroom window. The public space is comfortable and the breakfast excellent.

It's slightly faded but that is part of its charm. My single room was a bit small.

Historic building, romantic, tasteful, nicely renovated, clean, good staff, good breakfast (dinner was closed during the days I stayed)
