Romantik Hotel Julen Superior    

Staff was very welcoming & friendly , we felt at home. Services were excellent. Check in and check out were smoothly done.Breakfast was very rich & healthy. Definetly I will stay again in my future visits to Zermatt.

We have just come back from Zermatt on May 5th 2013 where we stayed at this hotel. The hotel is excellent. We stayed there before and would most certainly come again. Make sure you book a room with Matterhorn view and you will be impressed. The staff throughout the hotel is very smart, friendly and attentive. The breakfast is generous, including champaigne. The food in the Stubli restaurant is delicious (big choice of lamb dishes), the restaurant manager/owner personally talks to the guests at each table to see how people like it and what they think. The room is clean and well designed in an authentic country style (wood). We also used the swimming pool and massage which was very nice and relaxing. I certainly recommend it to everyone as a great choice in Zermatt both in summer and winter time.

Every things in the hotel was so lovely. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Love all the little details in the room such as the welcome dessert and the room design itself. The most impressive for our trip is the Matterhorn view throughout the window even the room that we didn't expecting for. (We booked for 3 rooms 2normal and 1with the Matterhorn view) We will strongly recommend the hotel to others.

There was a wonderful atmosphere in the hotel and the staff were friendly and helpful without exception. The traditional charm of the hotel with its views of the Matterhorn, the excellent spa facilities, the balcony with our individual Christmas tree and the lovely log fire in the lobby made for a memorable stay. We also enjoyed the Champagne breakfast with its plentiful choice of delicacies.

Hotel very well located and room clean being very well decorated.

A four stars hotel with more than 30 rooms and facilities like spa and fitness place has to offer a much better service. We have found only one employee to manage the spa and fitness room, and at the end the opening timing was not being respected. The high price should be compensated with a minimum good service, the only one real positive aspect was the location, other ways the facilities are used as a marketing attraction.

We were enjoying the hotel and the area, but after one night my husband fell Ill and had to be hospitalized outside of town. We did not know he would be hospitalized for three days and left everything in our room. Hotel Julen was so gracious and kind to us, they moved all of our belongings to a superior room and only charged us for a regular room. As an added relief they did NOT charge us for the three nights we spent in the hospital! We can't say enough about their kindness, but also the hotel is beautiful and the breakfast is extravagant. We had dinner there every night because the food was so good, and we love gourmet food. Every member of the staff we encountered was very friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we will be back!

The room is spacious enough in Switzerland(especially the bathroom), and also clean. With wood and colorful inner decoration, the hotel tries to give guests warm feeling. All staff are friendly and helpful. Also, They provides plentiful breakfast. Overall, it's a nice hotel located in Zermatt; with satisfying quality based on its prices.

The location is not the heart of Zermatt. However this is not big problem, considering Zermatt is a small town. Not all balcony face the Matthorn mountain. Still, it's a tiny complaint, and won't influence our good impression.

The room was nice and clean with a good view of the Matterhorn. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a warm, cosy feeling with lots of traditional elements that you may expect in a Swiss hotel. The rooms are comfortable with a good sized bathroom and nice balcony with outdoor seating. The breakfast buffet is good with lots of items to choose from, including eggs made to order. Also for dining, the hotel Julen is a good choice. We enjoyed an excellent 5 course meals for only 55 CHF A la carte dining is also an option. The hotel spa is very relaxing and the steam room and hot stone massage are recommended! The indoor pool has a good size, but the water was a bit too cold for my taste. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. It is worthwile to mention that when arriving at the station, you can call the hotel for free pick up. It saves you 10 minutes walk through the town centre with all your luggage. This we did not know as it did not show on the reservation.

Great location, friendly staff, clean room, reasonable price. Overall a very good experience.

Sophie was an excellent host and provided local information in a friendly and personal way. The junior suite was good and the pool and spa excellent. Very good location.

No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Shower over a spa bath and even with part glass it was impossible to stop lots of water from going onto the floor. When will the Europeans learn to have a decent walk in shower. The noise from construction on the road opposite was ok as it was only daytime but the noise from the bar on the opposite corner was disruptive at night as windows needed to be open for ventilation. No airconditioning. The wi fi connection was terrible - worse than dial-up.
