The family-run hotel Zum Weissen Kreuz is near the Reuss River in Lucerne’s historic Old Town, just a 2-minute walk from the Chapel Bridge and a 5-minute walk from the train station.
Score from 774 reviews Very good
The Ameron Hotel Flora enjoys a prime location 500 ft from the Chapel Bridge and 320 yards from the train station and Lake Lucerne. It features stylish rooms.
Score from 1177 reviews Very good
In the pedestrian zone in the heart of Lucerne, right at the historic Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), where the Reuss river leaves Lake Lucerne, you will find the pretty Hotel Des Alpes.
Score from 867 reviews Very good
The Ibis Budget Hotel Luzern City is within a 15 minute walk from Lucerne Main Train Station, the Old Town, and Lake Lucerne.
Score from 2717 reviews Good
Breakfast was good. And complimentary tea /kettle in room when requested. Near to Railway Station.
Noise from other clients in corridors near to bedroom.
Proximity to the City Fast and reliable Internet Good Rate
Ceiling lamp not working in the room Ventilator in the shower not working Water dripping from the central heating Breakfast was served in the smoking section of the hotel - this is an absolute no go for any hotel
Location was great and the staff helpful. Wifi worked well. Parking is expensive in this city. So 22Euro per night. It was close though.
Breakfast was only OK. Nothing to rave about. During the evenings it is a bar that has a lot of smokers. It still lingers over the morning coffee...
Excellent Internet Convenient room size and furniture Clean Close to the stop, Bus no. 2
Very poor breakfast No coffee station nor mini bar One small and always busy elevator Less value for money
The family room was large, esp. for Europe. There was a living room with a pull out bed for the children but no wall or door separating the adult and child room (making it difficult to enjoy the room while the kids were sleeping.) The location was walking distance to pretty much everything we wanted to see (the Lion, the Glacier Park, the Covered Bridge). Even the 8 year olds found the walk interesting and not too long. Loved Lucerne but the hotel was just OK.
We had booked a triple room and an "extra bed" which they charged us 40 extra CHF (about 30 Euros) for the night for two adults and two kids. When we arrived we ended up with a double bed and pull out couch. Thus, they charged for the extra bed and there was really no "extra." The street side faces nightclubs and bars and was noisy, keeping me up on and off until about 3am. I would not recommend this room on the street side. The breakfast was cheese and meats with limited fresh fruits/yogurts. It was okay. The coffee was horrid and the breakfast room is a bar at night, meaning that it smelled of smoke. I changed my shirt after breakfast because it smelled. I felt for the price, there could have been much more. Parking was another 25 CHF (about 20 euros) per day. I would not choose this hotel again based on price for value.
The location, the cleanliness, the balcony.
All common rooms (reception, corridors, breakfast room - even if non smoking) smell the smoke/cigarette. 20 minutes at breakfast and you get the smell on you...even bathroom Towels smell. Unpleasant for a non smoker.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Parking located some distance (approx. 800 - 1000 ft. from hotel. A problem for some disabilities.
I was tired and had a place to sleep. Breakfast not bad.
Bathtub is odd shape. Nearly impossible to take a shower. Walls are paper thin. Must be in lobby to use Internet
No hot water last night of our stay, parking was difficult because nearby parking decks did not take credit cards and we were told they did
Excellent facility and staff.
Location was very central and convenient for the town centre and rail station. Staff and cleanliness were fine.
The family suite had three proper beds and a sofa bed. As the kids are too big to share a bed, my husband and I took it. It was very hard and worst of all there was a ridge where the mattress folded out of the sofa which was really uncomfortable and I struggled to get to sleep.
staff was not polite and talk very little in giving information and was busy in their own work, they dont accept dollar if we dont have euro. price was very high and it doesnt worth what you pay
Staff Service level
The facility is good with pretty good breakfast included.
The location is hard to find and the staff often absent from the reception, especially in the evening.
All in line with 3Star rating. Very clean , simple and friendly staff.
Wifi connection slow.
Dead Wifi Arrogant Kitchen staff Old furnitures Picture in booking.com is not the same
i'll probably take the same hotel on my next trip to Luzern. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms, no noise (at least on 5th floor room), great location 5 minutes away from Old Town.
A bar right across the street:patrons of the bar were out having a cigarette and talking very loud.
Upon arrival staff was not familiar with location of major attractions. Bathroom light did not work and was not fixed until 10:30 PM, after 4 visits to my room. Computer printer was jammed, making it impossible to print boarding passes. Room was tiny, barely room to open suitcases. Room was warm requiring window to be open which caused room to be noisy. Shampoo consisted of 3 tiny packets for 2 people.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The location was nice in that it was a little away from the craziness of old town / train station, but just a short walk away from them.
The wifi reception on the 5th floor and the dinning room is basically nonexistent. This needs improvement before I ever stay there again. Although some rooms are non smoking, the smoke smell from the hallway permeates through the door slightly. It's noticeable. And no air conditioning. This could be a problem during the warmer months.
the staff manager and desk clerk they worked with us on a last minute booking, then a revision to booking.com!
yucky small room, shower was accident prone, water spraying all over from the shower head, too noisy even 3 floors up;
For that which I paid in comparison to that which I received....I was pretty disappointed in the overall quality of the hotel for the high price.
Staff ( man ) on the phone after 11pm
Location is ok
Staffs unfriendly except one or two
