In the pedestrian zone in the heart of Lucerne, right at the historic Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), where the Reuss river leaves Lake Lucerne, you will find the pretty Hotel Des Alpes.
Score from 840 reviews Very good
The Tourist hotel is at the edge of Lucerne's Old Town, a few minutes from the station and the lake. All rooms provide free Wi-Fi and most have a balcony with mountains and river views.
Score from 979 reviews Very good
Just 110 yards from the Luzern train station and 220 yards from the ship pier, the famous Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) and the lake, the Waldstätterhof Hotel enjoys a central location.
Score from 674 reviews Very good
The Seehotel Hermitage is tranquilly situated within its own grounds on the shores of Lake Lucerne, only 2.5 miles from the center of the city with beautiful views of the landscape.
Score from 912 reviews Wonderful
The owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms facing the lake have a balcony and a beautiful view! I was also able to check in early.
A little further away (and uphill) from the town/train then I thought it would be. The decor is a bit dated but clean.
Front desk person, Barbara, was extremely friendly and helpful. She referred us to her favorite restaurant where we had a wonderful dinner. The room was pretty basic but very clean and quiet with a beautiful view of the lake. It was a lovely 10-15 minute walk from the hotel, along the lake to the old town of Lucerne.
Very elegant hotel good room view of the lake breakfast was very good great staff
Limited off road expensive parking even for motor bikes
Family owned hotel. Excellent hostess. Delicious apple from her husband's harvest
Staff are very professional. Very clean. Great location. Magnificent view.
Expensive. As is true of the entire city.
Lake view is great. Breakfast is good. Hotel staffs are friendly. Room is big.
Have to walk about 10min ramp to reach hotel. If you have large or heavy luaggae, you should probably consider to take a taxi to check-in. Internet connection is poor and no refrigerator and safebox in tue room.
My name is Julia & I travelled from Australia in Sept 2014. Lovely family run, classic old quality Hotel. Very steep hill to climb after a day sight seeing but worth it for the view - must be the most delightful in Europe! Take 3 tram stops only along the waterfront to Hotel & save a considerable amount. Staff extremely helpful and efficient. Breakfast room delightful with classical music to start the day.
The Hotel faces south and is heating up a lot during the day. There is no aircon. These continental Hotels typically do not offer tea/coffee making facilities in room. Around 7 pm one evening i enquired about having a jug in the room or if there was anywhere I could make tea in the Hotel. I was told they do that on the continent. As the Hotel is not right on eateries (it is either a 15-20 min walk or 3 tram stops) I really do think refreshment facilities should provided. Also only one flat european pillow with feathers was supplied. Perhaps if I had asked more pillows would have been provided.
Ambience, location, staff,
Beds were rather hard!
- Personnel was very friendly and helpful - I was upgraded to a room with an amazing view over Luzern Lake and Pilatus for free - Rich breakfast and nice service
quiet location near to centre.
GREAT service..looks good from out..lobby is pretty good...View from my room was awesome. Good location as well ..5 mins from main bus stop for all tours trains boats etc
Though room itself is absolutely blan, small and dated. I've stayed in couple nicer hostel rooms..The slope to the hotel is a bit tiring when dragging bags up but not bad I'd suggest to mgmt ..just modernize the rooms a bit and that will get u excellent rating.
Family run hotel where guests comfort is well addressed. Breakfast was delicious. Most memorable were the Royal family themselves.
Luzern the town itself was an enormous disappointment. Tour buses galore & crowded. Could have been any street USA.
good location, nice lake view
very basic facility for the value of money
Breakfast, well, limited selection.
Very nice room with lake view. Staff were kind and told us about the main sights in the town and transport connections.
Staff Location - even though up steep hill Quiet Quality of breakfast Quality of mattress/pillow/doona View Balcony
Bathroom was old & aging - needs a refresh Wardrobe was aging & bit broken No safe For an Australian we find the price very expensive but that is Switzerland
Very nice and friendly staff, great breakfast and all spoke English
Nothing comes to mind
atmosphere was lacking, not many people in hotal. breakfast limited selection on offer.
Cheapest beer in town. Excellent view of the lake.
Wildlife in the room. No air conditioner and no bath gel and shampoo.
We were three sisters traveling and needed a triple room, which they accommodated us with. Even with the extra bed, there was plenty of room for all of us. We spent only one night at the hotel, but it was pleasant. The room was clean, and the view was spectacular. The staff was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great. We walked from the train station with our luggage (mistake!), and once we made it up the hill to the hotel, I left my bag at the foot of the stairs. I was done, and willing to come down to get my pjs and toothbrush (lol). While we were checking in, it mysteriously found its way to our room! Best of all, they have a working roomy elevator.
Everything except inside the room
too simple and cheap feeling inside the room, but worth the price generally
View of the lake. Short walking distance to the centre of Lucerne. Very friendly staff and owners. Very well appointed
I loved the view from my room - exquisitely lovely and peaceful. They had a great staff - very gracious and professional.
Initially a bit difficult to find; however, a beautiful walk along the lake to the old town...
The service, the family touch and friendly atmosphere.
first time in Lucerne - suited us perfectly - good restaurant nearby - easy walk into town - the view over the lake is superb
coming back after an evening out, the short hill slows one down a bit - age problem I guess
