the hotel could not have a more central location, right next to the lake too, everything within minutes' walk. breakfast was adequate and the staff very friendly and helpful. some parts of the shower were slightly moulded and this could be a problem for people with mould allergies. |

I absolutely loved this hotel! I rented out the smallest room because it was the cheapest in all of lugano... But it was perfect! So much nicer than I expected! The staff was so friendly- the breakfast hit the spot- and the location of this hotel couldn't be better... Just a quick walk from the train, steps from the lake, surrounded by all of the shopping and restaurants... I can't wait to go back! |

San Carlo Garni small, tidy, nice hotel with pleasant atmosphere located in a very heart of Lugano. Good for travelers because of short distances to railway station and the lake with numerous boats. Perfect place for walking, shopping and eating. Some disadvantage was shared toilet, but it was not far from the room and clean. |

The hotel is located right on the main street and close to all the downtown attractions and a one minute walk to the lake front. The staff are very friendly, the room was clean, and the breakfast was very good. The room was rather small |

The location is great. They charged us extra CF20 per night for children even though the child policy states that children stay for free. The hotel is a bit rundown and old. |

Location is very good - in the heart of old Lugano and near the lake, elevator is available No wc in the room (I knew it, but anyway - it's not good). I was accommodated in smoking room (in spite of my request for non-smoking room) without any notice and apology, with horrible mix of 2 smells: smoking and (sorry) urine. No conditioner!! You have to open the window (but it still not enough in July) and it's becoming very nosy up to 2-3 A.M.! |

The location is perfect if youre in Lugano for shopping. Its in the middle of Via Nassa with all the high end shopping sotres. It's right across the lake as well where you can rent boats, and 2 minutes away from the Santa Maria Church (with the fresco of the crucifixion by Luini) The cleaning lady who also serves breakfast is very nice and welcoming. Theres no air-conditiong. I imagine it to be really hot in the hegith of summer. Although they provide electric fans for no extra charge. They require you to leave your hotel key everytime you leave the hotel, you are not allowed to bring the key, that was not a problem except for the unwelcome comment from the one receptionist saying "you keep going in and out of your room". Other than that it was okay. |

The location of the hotel is great, in the pedestrian zone and close to the lake. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was really nice. In the end, it is a bit too expensive for what you get. But I guess Lugano is just a very expensive city and generally overpriced. |

The staff is very nice and kind. The first impression of the hotel was good. Our room had insects - the bed bugs. The whole night was unforgettable because of that. We could not sleep, because we felt insects on us, but couldnot believe that, after turning the light on we found a plenty of them. It was horrible, we could not believe that in the center of Europe. And if they are in one room of the hotel, then that means they are all over... |
