Good Breakfast, free wi-fi

location; its not too far from Lucerne, only 15min by train. However if you wanna visit other places or cities, you have to go back to make a connection at Lucern, kind of waste of time, and there is notthing around the hotel at all!!! too quite, no cafe, no other restuarant to choose apart from the hotel restuarant. Moreover, the wall and wooden floor were too thin. I could hear people (next room) talking clearly, people walking above my head ( just afraid that the ceiling would not fall down over my head, last but not least i could hear a happy Birthday song at 10pm from the party down stair by the restaurant loudly like I were a part of their guest !!!

Convenient location - if you come in a car. Free parking. Nice room size. We were upgraded to a room with bath, so its a bonus. Thx. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was great with a waitress who understand and recommended just the correct menu for our Asian eating habits. My compliments to her.

The room is comfortable with a basin. Breakfast is the best! A good selection of bread, croissant, eggs, hams, fruits, cheese, and even desserts! The banana cake is very nice! The restaurant is excellent with a reasonable price. If you are travelling around Lucern this is a good place to stay.

The bar downstairs run until 11 o'clock. The building is very old so noisy.

It's a very special wood building, lovely and warm room.

The location where it is in beautiful and peaceful town Merlinschachen out of downtown, Nice breakfast, Nice and kind staff members, Free Wi-Fi.

Some bad smell in room, little noisy due to the wood structure of house. Using 1 toilet and 1 shower room with several people.

perfect!!! the hotel is very nice, swiss country style, beside the beautiful lake. The girls of reception are warm-hearted. we had a very rich and delicious breakfast!

The staff upgraded our room! So sweet! And the hotel is virtually by the lake, with tranquil and breathtaking view!

The prices in the resturant are rather high in comparison with other Swiss restaurants, but the service is good.

Everything was great, except...

... the condescending way we were treated by the person in charge at the Swiss Chalet Restaurant. The rest of the staff (at Schloss Hotel and Swiss Chalet) was friendly, but rather impersonal in their responses: standard greetings only. It was disappointing for a 4-star hotel at a level that I will not go back, no matter any positive points...

Absolutely everything was wonderful about this hotel!! It is just beautiful and very comfortable. Everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet was huge, with lots to choose from and delicious! The staff was very helpful with information on getting to Mt. Pilatus. For us, there was no better place to stay!

This is a real chalet, unlike any of the other hotels I have been stayed in before. Yet it is equipped with all the modern facilities you may need for daily life. There is free indoor swimming pool, sauna, boats etc but I didn't have a chance to enjoy them. I arrived after dark and left in the morning but I can tell that the scene is gorgeous. Also I booked about one month before my trip in late Oct so it's quite cheap.

The only thing is that the commute train S3 to the hotel operates in 30min or one hour intervals. Some people might find it inconvenient. However I think it is only a problem if you are in a hurry/have very tight schedule.

The rooms at the part of the Hotel, that is on the other side of the lake. Accualy the rooms are claustrophobic, with terrible furniture.

Staff were quite friendly, attentive, helpful and flexible.

Price was good. Location was convenient to Lucerne (15 min by train - hourly). Facility was gorgeous, very attractive. Very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was incredible, one of best we have had so far.

Our room overlooked the car park on the 1st floor which was not the most attractive view (but it was a rather last minute booking and the hotel did seem full).

I am love it! If I have next trip in swissland, here must will be my choice. The person, the view,everything is so wonderful!

The breakfast was very good.

The first room they tried to give us looked like a tiney,wood paneled basement twin beds , very outdated. After not agreeing to stays they quickly gave us a larger room which was also unappealing. If we could have gotten out of the arrangement, I would have. This hotel is old, but it doesn't have to be outdated.
