Friendly staff, lovely food in the restaurant, quiet location close to the lake, town. A really nice small hotel and the buffet breakfast with fresh fruit salad, choice of cereals, cold meats and cheese etc, with as much great fresh ground coffee as you wanted was fantastic. The room was a bit stuff but with the window open and the fan on at night got a good nights sleep.

When I chose a hotel to spend my holiday the main criteria was its location. As I planed to attend Zurich Opernhause a hotel should be in close vicinity to it. As it turned out the Hotel Seegatren was the best option not only due to its location but to very friendly staff, good facilities and service..

Lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Staff is fluent in English. The rooms are comfortable and are a reasonable size. The location is about a block from the lake and very close to public transportation. The walls are a little thin as I could hear the tv playing from the room next door.

I've stayed in Zurich many times and this time wanted close to the Lake and a business office-this was perfect for that; take the Trams to within 2 blocks of the Hotel and 1 block from the Lake- The Staff at this Hotel Seegarten were very friendly and gave us good information; The breakfast was excellent with good service and the best Cappucino we had in Zurich or Paris!!! I'll stay here again!! Rob and Sean

A quiet little nice hotel. Still somewhat reasonably priced, for Zurich that its : ) The rooms were not huge but sufficient. The first double room had the sink by the entrance and not in the bathroom but this is not a problem. The second room was big with three windows and sufficient room for the extra bed. The hotel restaurant was busy on a Saturday night but we got a table on a short notice. The quality of food and service was very good but price is like in the other restauranst nearby in Seefeld: +80chf/person even with a 12 and a 16yr olds in the company. Breakfast buffet has no warm food but was good and fresh and served untill 11.30 on weekends. Close walk to everywhere, especially the the opera and Bellevue. Number 4 tram takes you easily the old town and railway station. I would recommend the hotel as a tranquil hideaway. Getting in to the bathtub/shower might be hard for older people in some of the rooms.

Nice clean rooms and very quiet. I ate in the restaurant one evening and it was very poor. I had a basic pasta dish and it was very tough and dry. If I stay again I will not eat there. Breakfast however was great.

The hotel is in a lovely area very close to the lake. The hotel is nicely decorated, wooden floors, good beds and nice 'art' and has a positive feel about it. I had a middle sized room which was smaller than I expected, I guess the bed was 1.40 meter, there was a small area around the bed and the bathroom was very small (although convenient and in good condition). For me the size was perfect because I was on my own but for a longer stay for two people, I would prefer a bigger room. I had a room at the back which was quiet, there are double doors and good isolated windows. Breakfast was generous. Size of the bathroom.

Pleasant staff, quiet room, good breakfast buffet, excellent situation I arrived at 1415 and asked for a sandwich, but was told that the staff had already left, even though the restaurant was still being used; I feel this service should have been available at that hour. The rise in the Swiss franc has made room prices very high relative to other European cities which is of course not just your hotel's problem.

Very good hotel, pleasant employees with good hospitality, good restaurant, large and clean rooms, closed to the lake and the main city interests. Free wifi in rooms. Prices are acceptable for the offer in this expensive city

excellent and quiet neighborhood. easy access to old town centre via walking or tram. very clean room. great restaurant which also provided complimentary breakfast. not sure if it is zurich in general or just the hotel but it was expensive for the size of room. 3 nights was almost $1000 canadian including taxes and one night's dinner in the good restaurant. also no air conditioning and it was hot and humid. the hotel did provide a strong fan.

My husband and I enjoyed the bed linens - period. The hotel put is in a closet-sized room. It reminded me of a school dormatory. Horrible hot as they have no air conditioning. It cost double what the other 5 hotels we stayed at cost....yet it had the comfort of a economy hotel. The staff was ill informed about simple things, example: How do you get to the airport? Response: head this way, I think....shameful catering to business class and utter neglect to tourists.

The kindness and the efficiency of the staff. Location is also very pleasant and the room itself was fine apart from comments below. Extremely noisy building, you can hear your neighbour next door use the watertap. May be useful to remind your guest that having a shower after midnight is not recommended, as well as shouting in the corridors at night.
