Family-run for more than 100 years, the Jungfrau Lodge, Swiss Mountain Hotel is located within the Grindelwald ski, hiking and cycling area and offers panoramic views of the Eiger Mountain.
Score from 516 reviews Good
Very spacious room, comfortable beds, lots of windows, large balcony, beautiful view on the mountains. Five minutes walk from the station and the town center. Nice varied breakfast.
Friendly staff, excellent rooms, exceptional views. Exactly what we wanted at a good price for the area.
Cosy room, view
No ski room, no WIFI in Annex Chalet
Comfortable and warm. The staff was friendly. The food was good. It was up a steep hill but once you got your bearings the town was only a couple of minutes walk. Lovely view. Cosy room. Very pleased. Great value. We would definitely come back if we visit Grindelwald again.
Nothing to dislike.
Beautiful hotel. My room was comfortable, clean and pretty with wonderful views of the mountains from the balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Very good selection of food for breakfast. All in all an excellent location with just a five-minute walk down to the town and train station. I would like to return one day.
Beautiful view on Eiger, small but clean room, friendly servant maid (serving breakfast, cleaning room).
In euro, price went up by 20% from (late) booking till stay because of (unexpected) strong Swiss franc. Because of this, many hotels In Grindelwald were offering reductions, but not this one. Because of heavy snow, hotel parking was not attainable so our car had to stay in an expensive public parking. Also no compensation from the unfriendly owners, who moreover didn't offer any help in bringing the luggage along the steep, icy walk path. Hotel is too expensive for the offered quality.
friendly staff, lovely accommodation in the annexe, wonderful breakfast, with Eiger and Grindelwald cheese. It's up a hill which is a challenge with your luggage in the snow and ice - but bring snow grips for your shows and you will be fine.. all adds to the adventure of your holiday - plus you get great views over Grindelwald. Really liked this place, would stay here again.
Wonderful view from my bedroom and the breakfast room. Staff were friendly & helpful. Nice mix of modern bedroom but traditional Swiss style common areas. I was in a superior single which was excellent value for money. Only 5 minutes from the station, but because it is up a hill & away from the main street, it was very peaceful.
In winter, in the dark, take care when walking up the path ways to the hotel. They are steep, & quite slippery.
Typical well run Swiss B&B with small restaurant. Reading room off the dining room was relaxing.
Dinner hours end a bit early and the trek up to the Sonnenberg was icy.
Restaurant staff (lady from Portugal) was lovely & very sweet. Made our NYE special.
Receptionist / owner wasn't overly welcoming and seemed to not want us there! Seems to welcome the Swiss more than Aussies
great hotel, splendid views, rich breakfast. recommended
wifi only in the main building
It is a lovely family run hotel with very good views of Eiger's Mittelegi ridge and North-East ridge. The atmosphere is that of a typical Swiss chalet and the host ladies make sure that you don't step out without a sumptuous breakfast.
From my balcony and for that matter from any part of the hotel , I could not view the Nordwand. For an Eigergazer like me that was very important. Made up by gazing at the Wetterhorn which appears almost within touching distance and the Schrekhorn.
فريق العمل والاستقبال ودود ولطيف جداً ويعيشك جو عائلي والجو العام للفندق الهدوء والبعد عن الصخب Very pleasant and respective stuff .. pleasantly comfortable and my feeling was like a family inside my home
Only the limitation and position of car parking
Spotless bath tub and plenty of piping hot water.
Slightly let down by lack of staff cheerfulness.
The staff was very helpful & nice. Breakfast was very good. The room was comfortable.
The location isn't handy because you have to pull your luggage up a fairly steep hill.
The view from our bedroom could not have been better. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. The food was good and the hotel was nicely furnished and beautifully clean.
The climb from the car park is very steep.
The view from our balcony was wonderful ! The restaurant staff was soooo nice!
The climb! The glass door on the bathroom is terrible, watching someone relieve themselves is not necessary !
The views were great, breakfast was good, the room we were staying was clean, cozy and spacious.
Staff wasn't so friendly, Wifi worked only in the lounge which was locked after 9 pm. Because we were not staying in the main building where the lounge is, we couldn't access to the internet at nicht, which was very inconvenient. The Bathroom was very small, too.
Wonderful vision in the room and interesting style of decoration. The manager, an old lady, is lovely and friendly.
breakfast is too simple
Checking in was easy and I was made to feel very welcome. Lovely breakfast including local yoghurts, homemade jams, cereals, croissants, breads and a selection of meats, cheeses and spreads. Really amazing views of the Eiger. My room (superior single) had a wonderful balcony and deck chair to take it all in. There were even one or two walking poles to borrow, which was handy as you can't take them as hand luggage. I thought it was good value for money, especially for Switzerland.
View from the hotel
The steep approach road to the hotel
The views were amazing across the valley. It was very close to town. I was running the Eiger Ultra Trail Marathon and had to be at the start very early, so they arranged for another hotel to provide breakfast for me. And it was so quiet: great when you need some sleep!
I likes the building and our room and view.
The woman at the from dest was so rid to me I thought she literately hated me. We could not wait to get out of there.
The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable! We were amazed by the beautiful views from our own room's balcony and from the restaurant. They made us feel very welcome. On the last day we had to leave before breakfast, so the staff made a special lunch box for us to take on our journey. We would recommend this place to everyone!
The fact that we had to leave. We wished we could have stayed longer.
Room very comfortable. Lovely views from the bedroom and from the dining-room as the hotel sits up on the hill above the town. Very good breakfast.
Is a bit of a walk up from the parking area which took us a bit to find.
