The views were great, breakfast was good, the room we were staying was clean, cozy and spacious.

Staff wasn't so friendly, Wifi worked only in the lounge which was locked after 9 pm. Because we were not staying in the main building where the lounge is, we couldn't access to the internet at nicht, which was very inconvenient. The Bathroom was very small, too.

Checking in was easy and I was made to feel very welcome. Lovely breakfast including local yoghurts, homemade jams, cereals, croissants, breads and a selection of meats, cheeses and spreads. Really amazing views of the Eiger. My room (superior single) had a wonderful balcony and deck chair to take it all in. There were even one or two walking poles to borrow, which was handy as you can't take them as hand luggage. I thought it was good value for money, especially for Switzerland.

The views were amazing across the valley. It was very close to town. I was running the Eiger Ultra Trail Marathon and had to be at the start very early, so they arranged for another hotel to provide breakfast for me. And it was so quiet: great when you need some sleep!

I likes the building and our room and view.

The woman at the from dest was so rid to me I thought she literately hated me. We could not wait to get out of there.

The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable! We were amazed by the beautiful views from our own room's balcony and from the restaurant. They made us feel very welcome. On the last day we had to leave before breakfast, so the staff made a special lunch box for us to take on our journey. We would recommend this place to everyone!

The fact that we had to leave. We wished we could have stayed longer.

Room very comfortable. Lovely views from the bedroom and from the dining-room as the hotel sits up on the hill above the town. Very good breakfast.

Is a bit of a walk up from the parking area which took us a bit to find.

Amazing view of the valley and mountains, good breakfast. Close to the station.

Wi-fi did not reach to my room. While the hotel is located close to the station, it is quite high above, which can be difficult if carrying a large bag. Not recommended for anyone with mobility issues. Hotel decor is quite dated as well.

The views of the Eiger and Grindelwald from our balcony were magnificent. The family run hotel staff were very friendly and helpful with information about lifts and hiking trails which we thoroughly enjoyed. Excellent breakfast with freshly baked bread, Bircher muesli, fresh fruit salad, locally produced meats and cheese in their selection. We had a wonderful four days hiking around the area and up to the Jungfraujoch where the walk in the snow up to the restaurant rewarded us with spectacular views.

    The location

The unfriendlyness of the owneress, double room incredibly small, so small, you could not pass the, no parking, to get to the Hotel, you have to climb a slope, some one there to help you but gives you a dirty look for every suitcase he has to put on his trolley.

Great elevated location close to the centre of Grindelwald and 5 minutes from the train station. Views spectacular of the Eiger and surrounding mountains. Hotel comfortable, friendly and well presented. Highly recommended certainly more than it's 2 star rating.

Note to visitors you may need snow chains in Winter to gain the car park.

It was lovely, reasonably priced and great views. The staff were also very pleasant.

The slope up to the hotel is a death trap in winter. The hotel needs to take responsibility for clearing it of snow and gritting it.

I am a regular guest at this hotel and know the staff very well. It's almost like home.

The hotel is located on a hill and it can be a little bit challenging in icy conditions.

An excellent budget hotel in a great location near the train station. I would 100% stay here again on my next visit to Grindelwald

Attempting to walk from the station to the hotel up a very steep incline with black ice on the path. Perhaps complimentary crampons should be included in the room :-)

Very quiet, walking distance to town. This is our 3rd visit to Sonnenberg. We will make it 4 when we return to Grindelwald. Good hiking path from the family run hotel. Anna Bella is always a breath of fresh air. It is a great example of Grindelwald culture.

There is a 150 meter uphill walk to the hotel from the parking lot. That would be the only deterrant to some that would find a walk difficult.

Very welcoming and sunny serving staff who also respected your privacy. Hotel extremely clean and excellent varied breakfast buffet. Food beautiful in general. Lovely view of mountains. Great range of information available about the Grindelwald area. Remembered me from the previous year and seemed pleased to see me again. I felt very safe as an individual female traveller, which is one of the reasons I returned this year.

Hotel is situated on a hill with a short but steep path leading up to it. Difficult to negotiate with a bad back and luggage. I overcame this problem this year by taking a local bus to the bus stop above the hotel (Gaggi Sage) and it was much easier to get my bags downhill along the Sonnenweg to the hotel. Reception closes at 9 but as it is a family run hotel with an early start, I can totally understand why. Would love to be able to sit there longer it was so gorgeous.

Great location, just far enough from the busy town centre.

The staff wasn't too informative about things to do and hikes around Grindelwald.

We went here to celebrate our 22nt anniversary and fell in love with the place. We would love to keep it all to ourselves; alas some things just need to be shared. The staff was wonderful, the room was very charming with all kinds of personal touches, and the view was sensational. We will be going back!
