Spannort Hotel & Restaurant  

Everything was above and beyond. Annette, her husband and son are the most heart warming and accommodating proprietors. They made me feel extremely welcome and catered my every need. Everything was up to the highest standards imaginable: cleanliness, service, food. And all the while there is a very cozy vibe about the place. It is a short walking distance away from all the great trails and attractions that Engelberg has to offer. If you are planning on visitng the area, Spannort's value can't be beat.

Situated in the center of town on a pedestrian street, surrounded by restaurants. Very nicely decorated with a great blend of traditional Swiss woodwork and modern clean lines. Very clean.

Charging an extra fee for espresso based drinks at breakfast is a bit tacky.

Probably one of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed in. Although originally looking for a cheaper option, we were so glad we paid the extra as the hotel was even more impressive that we had hoped it would be based on the other positive reviews. Everything was perfect, the service from the family that run it was amazing, Stefano in particular was fantastic and dropped us to the station after I hurt my back (although the station is only 5 min walk). The rooms were stunning, finished with pine and beatiful floorboards and recently and tastefully renovated. The breakfast was excellent, we actually looked forward to it every morning! Location - dead centre of the town, near the station and between the two main chair lifts. So the owners deserve all the success the get!!!

Got a free upgrade to junior suite from double room. Very corteous staff. Nice location and interior design.

Unfortunately sauna was out of order but acroos the street for an ok fee went to the ramada welness.

More light for reading could be nice.

It's a very nice hotel, comfort and a classy look around it.The staff : very nice and helpful.A Calm and relaxing atmosphere plus a restaurant, that, during my stay was closed. I strongly recommend it.

Restaurant in hotel a bit pricey

The room was decorated to an exceptionally high standard and the guest lounge in the Spannort Hotel was uniquely furnished that was very cosy and welcoming. The breakfast buffet offered great choice and set us up well for the day. My friend and I did want to leave. Many thanks to the courteous and helpful staff, Stephanie and Cecelia. A truly lovely stay.

the breakfast buffet had only a few pieces of bread, one bowl each of muesli & cereal & little else...it would be good if they could provide a free shuttle service to the station

Excellent location

The hotel rooms and common areas have obviously been renovated recently to a high standard. The rooms are well appointed with a fridge (not crammed full of expensive mini-bar items), a clothes drying line in the bathroom, large wardrobe with plenty of coat hangers, boot trays, a small dining table and seating area and a balcony looking out over the main shopping street. The breakfast was very good. The staff I dealt with were extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is located in the very centre of town, just a few minutes walk from the train station and less than 10 minutes from the gondola up towards Titlis and the Jochpass. Superb all round.
