It was our first wedding anniversary and they ensured we had a very comfortable and lovely stay. Staff was very helpful. Rooms very nice with a combination of modern comforts in the traditional chalet style setting with a beautiful balcony overlooking the alps. Wouk definitely recommend it as one of the top choices. The restaurant had a limited menu for the day we were there with no vegetarian options. Perhaps it was just for that day as I've heard generally that they cater to vegetarians as well.

The ambience was great; it had a very relaxing, peaceful feel to it. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly: I wanted to ski on my last day, and they had a very organized method whereby one could book the sauna area for a half-hour and use it for showering and changing. Definitely the best arrangement I've experienced anywhere. Really loved the breakfast buffet—particularly the homemade preserves. I was totally impressed and wouldn't stay anywhere else in the future. BTW, this was my third stay in Engelberg.

Situated in the center of town on a pedestrian street, surrounded by restaurants. Very nicely decorated with a great blend of traditional Swiss woodwork and modern clean lines. Very clean. Charging an extra fee for espresso based drinks at breakfast is a bit tacky.

Probably one of our favourite hotels we have ever stayed in. Although originally looking for a cheaper option, we were so glad we paid the extra as the hotel was even more impressive that we had hoped it would be based on the other positive reviews. Everything was perfect, the service from the family that run it was amazing, Stefano in particular was fantastic and dropped us to the station after I hurt my back (although the station is only 5 min walk). The rooms were stunning, finished with pine and beatiful floorboards and recently and tastefully renovated. The breakfast was excellent, we actually looked forward to it every morning! Location - dead centre of the town, near the station and between the two main chair lifts. So the owners deserve all the success the get!!!

Everything was above and beyond. Annette, her husband and son are the most heart warming and accommodating proprietors. They made me feel extremely welcome and catered my every need. Everything was up to the highest standards imaginable: cleanliness, service, food. And all the while there is a very cozy vibe about the place. It is a short walking distance away from all the great trails and attractions that Engelberg has to offer. If you are planning on visitng the area, Spannort's value can't be beat.

The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. I felt right at home and was treated like royalty. The hotel was only a few minutes' walk from the train station and the view from my hotel room was absolutely breathtaking.

Stunning hotel. Staff from reception to restaurant were excellent. 3 minute walk from the train station and and close to all attractions and shops. Rooms were immaculate and provided everything you could need. Fridge in the room and balcony a definate bonus. Restaurant pricey but of a very high standard. This hotel comes highly recommended! Pillows: awful. Far too soft and not comfortable at all. Location: As the hotel is on a narrow street, rooms on the front are quite closely overlooked. Would suggest net curtains to improve privacy as the only option is to close the curtains. Also front rooms are noisy late in to the night from revellers below and again due to the narrow streets the noise is applified. Maybe ask for a room on the rear if you are a light sleeper.

Good central situation. The half-board price seemed high to previous swiss holidays, but as I quickly found out was extremely good value. The costs have rocketed in short time for food, drink and train & bus travel. The swiss government have deliberately controlled the exchange rate to the extent that I will not be visiting again for the foreseeable future. Very sad that hotels, shops and transport will lose out.

Fabulous room - quality finish with wood panelling. I was loaned a laptop for my stay. Ample breakfast. Excellent value I concur with a previous reviewer about the protuding shower tap! (But just a very minor point) Go ahead. Book it! (If it's not booked out already. You won't be disappointed)

“I have always been a little worried when it comes to staying at a family run hotel. However, Hotel Belmont has changed that. It was as good as any 5 star hotels that I had stayed in before with my 3 girls. The suite was of a very good size and very comfortable.
