Built in a classic Swiss chalet style, the Aspen Alpine Lifestyle Hotel in Grindelwald is next to the hiking trails and ski slopes of the Kleine Scheidegg/Männlichen Area.
Score from 362 reviews Excellent
The Derby Swiss Quality Hotel is a 3-star superior hotel located right at the train station in the very center of Grindelwald and features a familiar atmosphere and delicious Swiss cuisine.
Score from 312 reviews Very good
The Eiger is a charming hotel in the heart of Grindelwald only a short' walk from cable cars, trains and shops, and offers you superb views of glaciers.
Score from 208 reviews Excellent
This vacation and wellness hotel is in a quiet, yet central location with beautiful unspoiled panoramic views of the famous North Face of the Eiger and the Wetterhorn.
Score from 205 reviews Very good
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff at check-in. Central location, close to main street, but majority of rooms is on quiet south side with beautiful view of Eiger. Room (in lower part of building) was renovated, very nicely decorated and with clean furniture. Beautiful view of mountains from balcony (with table and seats). Good breakfast buffet in large restaurant with view of mountains.
Entrance from (very small) parking lot behind hotel is not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Corridor between rooms and main building are not up-to-date and needs to be repaired/refurbished.
Room was lovely, excellent location, great views
Balcony furniture very worn
Cost (and size) of take-away bag lunches was too much
balcony with view of the Eiger.
having to keep logging back on to wifi each time I wanted to use it.
Music in the breakfast room. Would prefer no music but if must play something, please make it classical or calming music.
Nice view, good location as the town is very tourist friendly. Despite the location being far from train station when compared with other hotels, it will help you get away from the rush and crowd, which is nice. Cozy room, friendly staff, have good restaurants nearby.
Have to push the luggage all the way from the train station to hotel, because someone said "it's near", well, a 10 mins walk, you decide if that's near when u have heavy luggage to roll little uphill to reach the hotel.
-Rooms with view on the mountains -Good restaurant+terrace -Very helpful and friendly staff
the great view and the location i like it and this will be the first choice for the next visit
small room , the breakefast not that much
I like everything in this hotel specialy the view
Everything is perfict
We are family with young child from Kuwait! -Amazing view!!! -Friendly staff -Perfect location
Location, nice view, extremely friendly staffs
variety of breakfast,
Eiger suite is spacious and comfortable though a bit pricy. Weather was so miserable that I cannot judge the view... but the balcony and the restaurant terrace seem to be great assets
Few small things that I found annoying or that can be improved: WiFi - It is extremely annoying that every time the device goes in energy save mode, then the password needs to be re-imputed (30 times a day...). Parking - 5CHF is cheap but having to take and return every time the access card is a bit of an inconvenient. Breakfast - It is sufficient but very basic
Staff very helpful rooms kept very clean great location, shuttle to train station.
Limited menu. No fish. Wi. Fi had to be logged in each time we used Ipad. Grouchy people across street at small grocery store. Only unfriendly people we met there.(no fault of Spinne)
Friendly staff, central location, cleanliness, view of the mountains, great bathroom, central heating which was needed during our stay
Rather dated decor of the Yungfrau Suite which for the price was not worth the money. Balcony area could do with some decorating.A larger sofa would have been nice!
Fabulous view of the mountains from the room Great outdoor terrance for breakfast
good location between train station and cable car station for First.
The view of the Eiger from our bedroom which was spacious, comfortable and clean. Nice balcony.
Grindelwald is over developed and too touristy with huge building works also going on. The hotel seems to cater for large groups of international tourists on packaged holidays; couldn't move in reception when a busload of Korean tourists arrived. Parking is very limited. Reception is unmanned. Being shown to our room in the Guest Rooms was the most uninspiring approach to a room we've ever had, going past store rooms and the car park. The public areas looked as though they needed refreshing and were dingy. The drains in the small bathroom could be heard gurgling when others were using their bathrooms, necessitating plugging the drain and closing the door. The dinner and breakfast were adequate and edible, but nothing to write home about. Felt as though they were produced on a tight budget. Price was high for the standard of hotel and did not represent value for money. Definitely not a 4 star experience.
Staff, view from balcony, spa facilities
Expensive, especially if weather is poor and you cannot enjoy the area (acknowledge weather is beyond their control)
Location is good, 5 min walk to train station, quiet and peaceful
Nearly every room, in Hotel Spinne, has a magnificant view of the Eiger and adjacent peaks, which are only about three miles away. She staff is courteous and helpful. As in the case of every Swiss hotel, in which we stayed, the Spinne was immaculately clean. Our room not only had a great view but was remarkably functional and comfortable as well. During a six - week tour of Switzerland, Italy, and England, this is one of the better hotels we stayed in.
perfect position overlooking the eiger,in the middle of the village, very friendly staff
The restaurant and terrace plus the breakfast.
Parking was a bit chaotic
Everything about this hotel was great. The staff, the location, the facilities. We particularly enjoyed the wellness centre. I would definitely recommend this hotel. They really go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable.
