Hotel St.Gotthard Basel  

The staff were fabulous - very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb, great choice of food and beautifully prepared. The "extras" were really appreciated - the reception staff were chasing the airline who had temporarily lost one of our cases without being prompted to do so - each morning there was a wee news summary sheet in the breakfast room in several different languages - a a lovely pair of coffe mugs given to us on departure.

You cannot complain about anything when you have had one of your best ever hotel experiences.

The Hotel is very well located right next to the Railway station and quite a few restaurants of different sorts. The atmosphere is quite good, and the price definitely reasonable compared to hotels in the area. Breakfast is extensive, the room well equipped and the shower very nice. The minibar items were included!

Internet is not included, the location of this room was in front of an area with waste containers which were emptied at 6AM... the noise woke me up and lasted for a while, not very nice.

Charming and most helpful staff who always give us a warm welcome. Breakfast consistently good. Rooms clean and comfortable.

The hotel is very welcoming and the staff is very nice. Rooms are clean and there's everything you may need in your room. Very good service.

Depending on your neighboors, you may hear them quite well when they watch tv late or wake up early making noise ...

Nice hotel

Good quality quiet hotel in central location near station . Not having an evening restaurant allows flexibility to dine elsewhere.

The staff and owners were very nice and spoke good English and the breakfast each morning was excellent for a european hotel. The location is right beside the train station but is not that noisy for such a central location. You can get to anywhere in Basel from this location and the tram travel is free with a hotel pass which makes things really easy.

We booked a tripple room and requested 3 single beds but they only had a room with a double and a single bed

Space in "comfort room" we had a was a bit tight, especially in the bathroom and between the bed and the window, very tight and too much furniture in a small room.

Beautiful, clean, friendly small hotel right opposite the station, perfect for anyone travelling by train. My room was on the street side but was quiet nevertheless. Sadly I had to leave early in the morning, but my breakfast (included in the rate) was brought to the room at no extra cost, dead on time. The room was very well equipped and I'd have been delighted with the free wifi had I needed it on that occasion. Definitely want to stay there again. Highly recommended.

The receptionists were very cordial, helpful, and multi-lingual. The room was relatively spacious and neat as a pin. The location was very convenient for catching the train the next day, on the next leg of our trip. Contents in the minibar were free! That's a new experience for us, but it was probably factored into their reservation rates.

Convenient location. Helpful, friendly, professional staff. Well designed room. Attractive individual looking hotel. Good range of choices and quality for breakfast.

Expensive wifi internet access. Single bed was very uncomfortable (it dipped in the centre and it had a plastic "under sheet" that makes you very warm at night)
