Great family room - plenty of space. Loved the huge old bathroom. Staff excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
Great staff, really pretty rooms and awesome breakfast.
Franzisca was very welcoming and helpful with directions. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Andrea was also helpful. Short bus ride to the old city.
Great location being only a 15 min stroll into the city centre. Comfortable and clean and a quiet location. Breakfast was excellent and it was great to have access to a coffee machine all day long. Fantastic staff who were friendly, informative, looked after our needs and made us feel at home. Added bonus was free, secure WiFi - when travelling and on the move every couple of nights, this is an important facility.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff. We had an early train so missed the breakfast, but she was very accommodating and left us some things in the fridge for us to have before we left. Beautiful building with lots of character and nice gardens.
Comes with an old building but the creaky stairs and floor boards made our early exit difficult, I felt sorry for other guests who could clearly hear us and had been woken up, as lights switched on and voices started.
Very nice staff and hardworking. One man operation of reception n breakfast serving. Very friendly n give good travelling advice. Have garden to eat outdoor. Excellent environment. Good view too.
Shared toilet, no parking, no lift.
The staff was so welcoming, helpful and kind.
Would have been nicer if room was ensuite, but not really a problem.
Staff so helpful; gave lots of advice on our city trip; clean; beautiful
Lovely house in a nice location. Nice big bed in attic room. Friendly staff.
Breakfast was poor one of the worst continental breakfasts I've ever had-it had the absolute basics and nothing else. The attic room has a separate bathroom but people in the houses opposite the bathroom can see you naked due to the see-through blind
Extraordinary clean facilities and really helpful, friendly, and flexible staff.
Nothing that a typical bed and breakfast stands for. Everything in the building - from the espresso cups to the the coat hangers in the room are from ikea which does little to give the place much personality. The building is older which is what we wanted when we booked it, but the walls and floors are paper thin and it made it difficult to sleep. The most disappointing was the breakfast which was more like a continental breakfast at a chain hotel in the states. I would look around more before choosing this place again.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
This is an upmarket hostel. We had to share one shower and toilet with 10 people on our floor.Establishment description is misleading as this is not at all a 3 star B&B!
When people walked ,the floor made noise
The staff was very customer focused, sold us tickets to the attraction that we wanted, ran the breakfast area with great hospitality, and friendliness. Really great stay and enjoyed the room.
No real issues to even mention.
The staff was absolutely wonderful. Anything we needed was available, umbrellas, wine opener, parking. We had the attic room unexpectedly, but it was just right with many skylights and bright. Every staff member greeted us with smiles in the morning and evening. The breakfast was excellent, cereal, toast & jam, cheese, hardboiled eggs, milk, juice, and the cappuccino machine made excellent coffee. We bought cold cuts, cheese, wine & bread and it happened to be sunny in the evening. As we sat down one of the staff members brought out a tablecloth, plates & utensils. My husband went out to lay on the lounge chair and when he was noticed, a pad for the lounge was immediately brought out. Incredible stay in a beautiful area and it was made all the better by the excellent staff.
very very kind staff big smile
noisy floor due to the history
Location, being an easy (15 minute) walk to the everything. Friendly and helpful staff. We had room 8 with its own bathroom. Parking extra but convenient. Ample breakfast. Good, basic accommodation. Freestanding A/C in room - efficient with some sound but not noisy.
We would not have stayed here if we had to share a bathroom. Only one room with an ensuite (albeit down a flight of stairs - watch your footing, no stair carpeting). Floors a bit creaky. Not cheap but perhaps reasonable by Lucerne standards.
This is a really great place, clean, simple and stylish. We got a very warm welcome and spent a comfortable night - highly recommend.
There was nothing we didn't like.
The spacious room, & the cheerful and welcoming staff.
The most wonderful staff ever! So friendly and helpful when we misplaced a backpack on a train. Lovely old family home. Yes, the floors are very creaky, but it's barely heard in the rooms. We loved this B&B. Lovely private garden for reading or eating.
It's a 15 minute walk from the train station - recommend taking the bus when you have luggage. We walked back and forth most times, but took the bus when we had luggage.
Staff outstanding. Very good Breakfast . Not a cooked meal but A very good selection including Hard boiled eggs. Room was big And airy. 15 walk to centre. Quiet street, no late noise. Less expensive than hotels
Being a b and b, you need to be Patient as toilet and showers were Shared with other rooms. Some people take loooong Showers.
so welcoming in every way” 5 of 5 starsReviewed 4 days ago NEW This was our first visit to Lucerne and one of the best B&Bs that we have stayed in worldwide. Isabella greeted us and immediately showed interest in our interests, schedule and making us comfortable in HER home. The B&B is within easy walking throughout Lucerne. We easily found the old town and all of the sites. Isabella, Andrea and Evelyne made site suggestions and reservations. The house (which has been completely renovated by Isabella and her family was her grandmother's home. It is well taken care of in every way -- spotless, breakfast room is large enough to seat all guests at one time, quiet, patios for outdoor sitting. We stayed on the spacious top floor -- entire floor and bath were private. Bed was very comfortable, All amenities were thought of ... even enough outlets for our computer equipment. Isabella's team is outstanding. Andrea and Evelyne welcomed us immediately. Answered all of our questions and were always available. Excellent experience. Next time we are in Lucerne we will return to The Bed and Breakfast.
Excellent house to stay in built 100 years ago and maintained very well. Staff were excellent and the rooms were very clean and spacious.
Didn't have an attached toilet.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Isabelle gave excellent instructions on visiting both Mt. Rigi and Mt. Pilatus which was very helpful! I stayed on the first floor where there was a toilet just two steps from the room. As the room was the only one on the floor it was almost like a private bathroom. It was quite a bit of a walk to the train station but bus no.1 makes it very accessible to the train station or to Mt. Pilatus depending on the direction taken. All in all value for money, the bed was comfortable and wifi was good.
