Tourist Hotel  

The hotel was about 10 minutes walk from the train station. It was easy to find seeing it was situated along the river bank on the other side of the river from the train station. It was also under the old city walls and one of the old towers, so its location was excellent. The room was newly renovated and spotless. The wifi worked well and we had a view of the river from our side window. The breakfast was ample and was constantly replenished. While there was no hot food, there was cheese, cold meats, hard boiled eggs, pickles, delicious fresh rolls, bread for toast, yogurts, dried fruits, cereals and mueslis, jams and Nutella, juices and hot drinks. We were very pleased with our choice and would stay again. The chaps at the desk were very helpful.

The Swiss hotels provided us with feather / down pillows which flattened to nothing. We found them uncomfortable. This was not the hotel's fault, but more a cultural matter.

Large rooms with a beautiful view of the river, city and mountains. Large bathroom with plenty of counter space. Breakfast was wonderful. For us, the atmosphere of the hotel would make a great setting for a novel.

If driving, the parking garage is across the river and runs about $15 per day. Although close as the crow flies, you need to walk a bit further to cross the bridge. Figure about 10 minutes. The hotel is located at the outer edge of city center so you'll have a 15 minute walk to Chapel Bridge, the main shopping area and the lake, but its a very nice walk through old city streets and along the river Ruse providing amble opportunity to find something new and unexpected.

The view over Lucerne was amazing! We had double doors opening out to a balcony from the bathroom as well as the bedroom. Everything was clean, the bedlights were bright enough to read by, there was a good breakfast and free internet. The staff were very helpful. Everything was clean.

The rooms are really spacious and well laid out and equipped. The breakfast was excellent, especially the option of fresh boiled eggs, a rarity in our experience of this style of European hotel.

Location was very good. The train station was about 10-15min walking away. Close to shops and restaurants. There was a guest laundry which made it a lot easier with kids. Breakfast was included but was rather basic compared to other Swiss hotels we had stayed in.

Just the breakfasts

Excellent location. Very clean and very well thought room layout and ammenities. Connecting to the wireless internet is very easy. The balcony facing the river and mountains are excellent.

It will be good if the hotel can provide drinking water and electric kettle

Small, over priced room. Very basic breakfast, little choice.

We thought Christian (sp?) was so helpful and friendly. The wifi didn't work in our room (fifth floor perhaps out of range) but he came up to see if he could fix it. Was fine using wifi in lobby/breakfast area, though. Breakfast was complimentary and very nice. Great bathroom. Beds very comfy. Close to everything. Nice decor. Wonderful view of mountains and river!

Neat and clean place, 10 min walk from the station. The staff were very helpful and assisted on tickets and suggested places of interest

I liked the location , very near down town. inside its very good and the rooms much better, and the view great of the river.

They doesnt do check in after 11 pm.. you need to get before that. the hotel doesnt look to good from outside.

The personal at the reception was really friendly. They explain us everything we wanted to know and even help us with the parking. Although the building at the reception looks old the rooms are brand new. We travel with two children a 4year old and the other with months and ir was very good.

Breakfast could be a little bit more complete. It it not bad, just standard. It is a little bit far from the downtown. But it is ok if you like to have a short walk before you get into the real stuff.

Hotel staff is very kind and polite. Best breakfast for our trip.
