Tourist Hotel

Helpfull staff.

This hotel was well located to Lucerne & sights. It wasn't too far to drag suitcases. The view out the window of the river (a loud rushing torrent), Mt Pilatus & the castle was terrific. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

The downside of the view is that the rooms facing the river get the full afternoon sun & there is no airconditioning. This may be OK in winter but was far too hot in summer with temperatures approaching 30 degrees celsius. The noise of the river & traffic was deafening if the window was open. The double glazing kept the noise out but it was far too hot in June/July to leave the window shut.The bed was very hard & horribly uncomfortable. The bread was all pre-cut & not as fresh & crisp as other stays. Apart from all this it was still an OK stay.

We stayed one night. The staff was very kind with us. The room has comfortable beds. The bathroom, fine design. All we needed for our staying at Luzern.

I liked the room because it was clean and the furnature was renovated lately.

parking was very limited and the access to the parking is very very difficult. The hotel is very old . The room I was given was in separate building. the connection between the two building was very dirty and oldy. you can get a lot of hotels which are closer to the city center and have better services with the same price. I will not use this hotel again.

Clean rooms, big shower, great views of the river and very close to the train station and the centre of town

Don't let the 'boring' façade of the building or their old fashioned website fool you: If you book this hotel, you will find a very nice couple running a brilliant, yet cheap hotel. The hotel consists of rooms (duh!), but also has it's own appartment, just across a little street at the back. It has a kitchen block, equipped with everything you might need - a bed/sitting room with a comfortable double bed, tv, two arm chairs to quietly read a book - a little hallway with a big closed for your clothes leading to the bathroom. It's small, but they managede to fit 2p shower! Everything in the studio (floors, furniture, kitchen) was probably not older than 2 years old or at least very well maintained. The hotel rooms were also renovated all, so I guess they have the same good looks and comfort. The breakfast buffet is simple, but good enough. You'll find bread, a toaster, sweet spreads as well as ham and cheese, 3 kinds of flakes, 2 kinds of yoghurt, coffee, milk and juice. The hotel has 2 parking spots available, so booking necessary! The people at the reception are very nice and helpful and upon leaving, you get a Swiss chocolate bar :o) Please note that paying in Swiss Franks is best: For paying in Euro's, they'll use their own exchange rate (which is still not much worse than your bank!) - For paying with Master, visa etc. they'll charge +3%. Considering the cheap rooms, the aforementioned will still not bankrupt you... Conclusion: 9/10!

Very clean, remodeled contemporary room. Comfortable beds. Great location. Very good breakfast.

Value of money and not too far from train station

The position of the Hotel in Lucerne was very good, staff were very helpful.

It was a little bit clinical could be a bit more homely.

We stayed in studio. It has very big bedroom with TV and sitting facilities,walking robe, bathroom with double shower and separate full kitchen/dining/entry. All in very good condition, new, clean. Very quiet, comfortable, by the river, practicly in the old town and 10 min walking to the railway station. Good breakfast, freindly/helpful staff.

Very Friendly and helpful receptionist. Family rooms are very comfertable. Good river and mountain view.

Optional fan in room should be provided.
