The Villa Engiadina was built in 1902. In 1999, the castle-like, art nouveau building was renovated with loving attention to detail. It is situated at the edge of the national park, perched above the Lower Engadine valley.

Hotel information

The banker Johann Töndury built this private villa on a hillside situated in the flourishing tourist city Vulpera. The architect was Karl Koller, one of the most successful hotel architects in the Engadin region.

The playful architecture of the villa is typical for the period it was built. Various historic styles as well as regional elements were combined. Töndury never lived in the villa. The building was used as a hotel and sanitarium since 1906.

In 1999 it had a major renovation and refurbishment work and today is included in the illustrated book of historic hotels in Switzerland.

Liliane Solo traveler SCIEZ, France July 28, 2011	Découverte du parc national - situation de Vulpera idéale pour sorties à pied ou en voiture - courte distances - très beaux villages alentours - Guarda, Sent, Scuol, Ardez, Zernetz, Val S-Charl, etc. Bref un séjour tout à fait réussi. J'ai également apprécié la belle musique discrète pendant les repas du soir, la terrasse où l'on peut lire sans être dérangé, et à ne pas oublier le nouveau testament dans le tirroir de la table de nuit, pour le bien-être de l'âme.
