Registration and payment went smoothly and we even received breakfast which wasn't supposed to be included in our price. The apartments look simple, exactly according to the images.

It was quite far from Lugano - more than 15 minutes walking to train station + 10 more to city centre.

excellent on site parking staff friendly

walk + bus to get anywhere unless you take your car, with attendant parking problems at destination chef was a character, I guess you could be amused or annoyed by the idiosyncracies. We found the food agreeable. room furnishing clean but 'tired' Lugarno is expensive. This hotel is probably reasonable against what else there is Lugano, but much better value can be had over the border in Italy

Our advice to everybody is to never go there. The pension is in a residential area, ~15 min walking from the Lugano station in the direction opposite of the center. They prefer cash payments, otherwise they add processing fee. I find it normal. We had a room with a toilet and a shower in the room. As the hotel looks like a very old pension, the room facilities seems to were built-in recently. Both shower and toilet room are very small, we could hardly fit into them. It was cold outside and it was cold in the room. In the evening we decided to have a dinner in the hotel. We noticed that the cute black cat, that many guests liked so much, has its food and water bowl in the restaurant kitchen, which we find unacceptable for public facilities. The person working in the restaurant appeared visibly irritated by our late appearance, but we came to the restaurant before the closing time they told us. We wanted to have one lasagne and some drinks. First he very insistingly asked if we want two lasagne, and we have to very firmly state that we want only one. Then he was asking if we want wine, and again we have to firmly state that we don'T. After we finished and wanted to pay, he told us a price that was at least 5 chf too much, without any kind of bill. We decided not to argue, paid, and were waiting for a change. But he just went away, and I had to very firmly demand our change. First he was joking, but finally I got money from him. Next morning we came to reception and said that we are already leaving, although we booked two nights. The lady in reception did not appear surprised or concerned at all, just told us that we have to pay 50% of the price for the second night as a cancellation fee. When we hesitated, she said that this is written in the booking conditions and she can show it us. Again, we were to irritated to argue and stay longer, and paid what she demanded.

The villa is pleasant and the rooms are nice. The villa is located quite close to the city. The owners are helpful and friendly.

The villa is an old building with many steps. The breakfast was very minimal.

The staff was nice enough and spoke limited English.

The shower was not attached to the toilette and sink area and was directly off of the room so people in your room *will* be able to see you shower. The plug sockets were an issue as well. None of the sockets fit our [standard] uk to European converters. Also, keep in mind that the Swiss Franc is really expensive! It would be wise to take out money, rather than use Euros, to pay. The staff wanted us to pay in cash, but we would not be able to in Euros, so we were charged 2 Euro extra for using credit card. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and everything was a bit tatty, too. However, we were on a budget and expecting this. If you're looking for a clean, decent hotel, I'd look to stay outside of Lugano , or maybe splurge a little bit on a nicer hotel.
