Hotel Waldhaus am See  

Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The porter helped me to get the luggage while the baggage office of train station was closed already. I asked for places to cycle and the staff offered me a free ride to the destination and helped to fix the bike per my request. There are quite some choices for breakfast. Location is good too, just a short walk from the train station but with some stairs / slopes. However, there is free pick up service. Food is delicious. Nice view as my room is on the lake side.

I don't understand why I'm assigned to sit in the middle of the restaurant while many seats at the window side are empty during breakfast. The waiter didn't tell me that there's a menu when I placed order and I paid double price for a lunch finally.

Location was amazing. The view from the hotel was incredible, lake, mountains all around! Food was also fantastic in the restuarant (a little expensive, but very good)

The corridor to our room was rather cellar-like, however, the room itself was very nice. Extensive breakfast selection.

The receptionist was surly and unwelcoming. Although I was booked for two nights, my key card failed to work after the first night. When I asked for it to be reactivated, I was told, wrongly, that it did not work because I had only booked for one night. No apology for this mistake - just more surliness. Very poor customer service.

The location. The lady who attended to us at breakfast was exceptionally helpful and had a lovely personality.

Our tv never worked and when we reported it we were told to look at the cable. No one came to fix it and no interest was shown in helping us to fix it. On booking in, we were not even given a map of the town or shown any brochures. In our room, all the information about the hotel was in German so we did not even know what time was breakfast. Surely this information could be in several of the common languages, particularly as the hotel was aware that we were from Australia. Even the Italian restaurant nearby had their menu in quite a few languages.

The hotel does not smells good. The single room is quite small.I Don t think it is necessary that the hotel chooses where do I have to seat to have breakfast, there were lots of tables near the window with the lake view that were free, but I couldn t use. Wireless did not work.

Zentrale Lage, tolle Aussicht, Bus, Bahn und Bergbahnen sind im Preis einbegriffen. Gute Küche, sehr guter Weinkeller und für Liebhaber exzellente Whiskybar.
