The friendliness of the staff was almost overwhelming: I’ve never felt so welcome anywhere before.
The only thing I missed at all was a tub in the room. On the other hand I could have asked for it first.
The hotel encompasses all the requirements a family requires for a long weekend or week's skiing. The hotel is comfortable, nicely furnished, and the facilities are quietly adequate for all one's needs. The hotel is not luxurious but better so, rather understated and a feeling of cosiness yet classic elegance in its appearance. The staff are with a few exceptions very friendly, warm and approachable and helpful. A special mention goes to the concierge, hotel bus drivers who provide faultness service and are to be praised for their hard work. The food was excellent. We enjoyed our stay very much. The new spa area is very tasteful and definitely a positive additon to the hotel.
The pillows in the bedrooms were thin and very difficult to sleep on - need to be more solid, harder.. Would prefer an a la carte menu as well as the set menu in both restaurants. This option was not available leaving us with only one of two choices for dinner. Given that the pool is really not that large would suggest numbers are monitored during the peak times.
Spacious rooms Delicious food Very helpful staff Great spa
Friendly staff and a very warm welcome when I arrived; something I've usually only experienced in much smaller hotels. Fantastic breakfast; I especially loved the Bircher muesli, the wide choice of breads and the jams.
I arrived by train and found hotel difficult to find on foot (especially the steep uphill along a small road wheeling my suitcase). The signage in the centre of the village isn't very helpful and some guidance with the booking information would have saved me a lot of energy.
The room we had was not looking at all like the pictures, when we asked why the answer we got is: we have different Junior Suite, we can change you but you will have to pay an additional 50 CHF per night which is absolutely inacceptable especially since the price difference on their website is 20 CHF... they said they were talking with booking.com to remove the misleading pictures which I sincerely doubt they do...
A truly well managed hotel in that reflects the excellent standards of a bygone age within a modern environment
I like the hotel and this time i have received a room with a larger bed (120 - 200) which i think all single rooms should have. i arrived with a wrong booking date, but the hotel was able to assist me and ensured i still was able to go skiing without worries. the food, breakfast is superb. dinner almost too much and because it is so delicious one may eat too much. the young lady from Dresden working in the reestaurant Maria Z. is friendly, professional and remembered me even after my return. she has a natural way with guests - excellent
not enough snow - honestly if you keep it the way with all the service you will be doing fanatastic. but do not increase the prices.
This is our third ski holiday in arosa staying in waldhotel. The hotel is so good we come back very year. The half board offer of 35 chf for 5-6 course meal is a very good deal. All facilities and spa wellness, staff and other services are of excellent quality. Truly deserving 4 star hotel.. Location is superb next to the ski piste.
Great location for skiing: ski-in-ski-out.
the team have been very friendly. the breakfast buffet excellent especially the fresh to make juice bar a nice idea. the dinner selection outstanding, almost too much food :) and one did like to stop as everything was tasty. spa and sport excellent. i will come back
i like to sleep in a larger bed and sleeping in a small bed takes time to get comfortable. however the room was nice and a larger bed for single traveller would be ideal. line up for the coffee maschine in the morning a bit challenging
Nice sauna / space Decent size roo Flexible for late check out
No food after 2130 A bit far from station No water in rooms?? Always separate small mattresses
not only one but two wellness centers and both absolutly new and phantastic. The Gourmet Restaurant is excellent, one of the best dinner of my life!
-ski in/ski out -excellent spa facilities
-room was too hot
