You can take the room at only 17h pm and you must leave a 10h am !!! We were there for the event "Olma" which is during from 10h am to 19hpm, so we have to keep our luggages to visit the évent which is not in the same place. Impossible to give our luggages before 17h so it cuts our journey. Housewifes were coming at 10h am the sunday morning, we slept only 5h, super !!!
Nice view, Colourful room, Near station, Good Food and WIFI.
Need to carry luggage to downstair without elevator
Modern buildings, clean, good breakfast.
The people where very helpfull
The place was perfect , and excellent transportation
staff was very friendly
after all day cycling to get to the hostel was an other challenge because of location.
Where to start? When we arrived the reception was closed so we had to wander about the city for two hours until it opened. When we finally checked in, we were told parking was 6 euro extra and was 100 metres away, nowhere near the hostel, then charged an extra fee for not holding hosteling cards making our stay in a twin bunk room cost nearly 120 euro for one night. On top of that, the breakfast was basic and the overall atmosphere was cold. Avoid!
We had not really known what to expect as we booked the hostel in a rush but st gallen has been one of the the highlights of our trip! There are 3 lovely swimming lakes close by ( only 15 min walk) which are a must and the town is easily accesable and very pretty! Corina was great when we first arrived, I had got really badly sun burnt and she gave me yogurt to calm it, this really helped! The hostel has a relaxed atmosphere and we met some great people from all walks of life. The only negative is that it's a really steep hill to climb so I recommend the team which how from the station right to the hostel!
The computer should be free to use for at least 15 mins before you have to pay and breakfast should finish later at 10! Instead of 9 which we found very early and rushed!
Clean rooms and quiet surrounding, the train passes every 30min and the view from there is great.
Unfortunately it is quite far from the station on foot (20-30min) and the trains do not operate at night.
It wasn't far from the city center.
The room was very small and dark, seemed like a prison cell. The receptionist did upgrade us to a bigger one but even that one wasn't much better. Mainly because where there should be a big window on the beautiful view of the city there is a big radiator. They served a rock hard bread for breakfast, made us glad we had our own croissants and we just used their coffee machine. The worst part of all is that there is no parking. You've got to leave your car a few streets away and pay extra for it etc etc.
Location was quite good to get into town. Hostel was very clean. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were adequate. Breakfast was good.
Finding the hostel was difficult. A sign at start of road would be helpful and again a larger sign outside hostel outside would also be helpful.
My children and myself preferred to stay in a youth hostel rather then a hotel. The location was excellent with the lakes very near by
That there was no access to drinking water or milk for a tea once breakfast was over
The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. It very extremely comfortable.
Bedrooms had thin walls (room 4) So person snoring in room next door could be heard all night.
