We had not really known what to expect as we booked the hostel in a rush but st gallen has been one of the the highlights of our trip! There are 3 lovely swimming lakes close by ( only 15 min walk) which are a must and the town is easily accesable and very pretty! Corina was great when we first arrived, I had got really badly sun burnt and she gave me yogurt to calm it, this really helped! The hostel has a relaxed atmosphere and we met some great people from all walks of life. The only negative is that it's a really steep hill to climb so I recommend the team which how from the station right to the hostel!

The computer should be free to use for at least 15 mins before you have to pay and breakfast should finish later at 10! Instead of 9 which we found very early and rushed!

Clean rooms and quiet surrounding, the train passes every 30min and the view from there is great.

Unfortunately it is quite far from the station on foot (20-30min) and the trains do not operate at night.

It wasn't far from the city center.

The room was very small and dark, seemed like a prison cell. The receptionist did upgrade us to a bigger one but even that one wasn't much better. Mainly because where there should be a big window on the beautiful view of the city there is a big radiator. They served a rock hard bread for breakfast, made us glad we had our own croissants and we just used their coffee machine. The worst part of all is that there is no parking. You've got to leave your car a few streets away and pay extra for it etc etc.

Location was quite good to get into town. Hostel was very clean. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were adequate. Breakfast was good.

Finding the hostel was difficult. A sign at start of road would be helpful and again a larger sign outside hostel outside would also be helpful.

My children and myself preferred to stay in a youth hostel rather then a hotel. The location was excellent with the lakes very near by

That there was no access to drinking water or milk for a tea once breakfast was over

The staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice. It very extremely comfortable.

Bedrooms had thin walls (room 4) So person snoring in room next door could be heard all night.

When I reserved the system did not ask me about my gender. I was taken for a man and therefore moved from room to room every other day. I asked them to do my laundry, they promised it for the next day but they did it one day later.

Very clean, comfortable bunk beds, good breakfast. Wonderful view over the rooftops of St Gallen and lovely to hear the tinkling of cow bells!

Not very welcoming lady on reception and systems/how to use things were not explained. Rather unhelpful approach. Only 5 car parking spaces a few minutes walk away, but right on a tramline.

10 minute walk to 3 swimming ponds (Dreilinden) with a beautiful view of the city and the Bodensee!

Unfortunately no kitchen (not even a microwave) usage for the guests...

Conveniently located to the museums and churches.

The sterile design of the rooms, the boats signs for showers and the Mona Lisa signs for the women's restrooms.

Plenty of free spaces. Nice view. Breakfast included.

A bit expensive, but then again, it's Switzerland. Check-in only at 17-00.

Receptionist was very friendly and understanding. We paid Quadruple but were only 3 people which we knew already and she then said she would give us a small discount in revenge. Very nice!

The cowbells in front of our room were a little loud, but when okay when closing the window. Breakfast was a little early, until 9 only.
