This is the best Hotel I have stayed in. The room was exceptional, comfortable and spacious, overlooking the Limmat. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The room I booked, though expensive, has the value. The overall feeling of interior, river & city view are excellent. Hotel location is also good. The machine that provides fresh orange juicy for breakfast is outstanding. The adjustable bed is considerate. In-room Wi-fi is now available & free ( it was not ).

The said to be 630 years+ old hotel does not display supporting trace of heritage. The tourist guide book printed by the hotel himself has a lot of room to improve (almost useless), & there is no other city maps provided, we need to get 100% city information via Google.

We had dinner in the hotel both nights and agreed they were the best gourmet meals we've ever had. Service was impeccable, from Reception and Concierge to restaurant staff. The room was very comfortable

Breakfast was the only thing that was not outstanding although it was still fine.

Everything was perfect!!! They made a special surprise for our Anniversary!!! We loved it!!! Friendly staff and great location!!!

Great location in Zurich

Wonderful Family type run hotel. One feels welcome and at home as soon as one enters the lobby. Smiling faces, top service, superb food and last but not least, unique location on the border of the Limmat river....facing the beautiful old town and the Grossmunster Church

Great hotel overlooking the Limmat , Zurich old toen and Gross Munster. Excellent restaurant with balcony dining overlooking the river. Great location easy walk into the centre of Zurich and the Lake. Staff really try to make you welcome and the service is great with nice rooms. Good breakfast

Its not cheap

comfortable rooms. Good service. fair location great local view if in the right rooms.

public transport a little out of the way. Not a comfortable short walk from main railway station if burdened with baggage.

lovely location on the edge of the River, in the old town. our room had views of the river and lake and mountains. Beautiful! The staff were very attentive and when our room had some problems they upgraded us to a new room that was absolutely stunning. very comfortable with a terrific coffee machine, great linens, comfy furniture. breakfast and the restaurant in general was extremely good. i felt completely pampered! other perks: chocolates when you arrive, an outlet that will accept an american (or other) plug. fruit in your room at all times. the lovely bathroom accessories, beautiful carpet, comfy beds. we had a balcony with amazing views. all in all, a wonderful stay.

two things were negative. one - no fitness center. there are gyms in the neighborhood for a fee, but i didn't try any of them out. two, the updated electrical system is pretty complicated. you cannot turn on the lamp at the desk by simply turning a switch, for example. you have to get up and go to the master panel and turn it on by first turning on everything and then turning off the other lamps. it is a rather complex system. workable but not ideal.

Location and quality of hotel

We were charged for 2 bottles of wine at the restaurant instead of 1. The mistake could have been honest or dishonest. We believe the later. It was corrected after we brought it to the waiter's attention.

Excellent staff, genuinely concerned about their guests, from the person opening the door, to the front desk staff, to the cleaners and the breakfast staff, as well as the hotel manager who even brought some hot water for my baby to my room. Hotel with its own pier, reception has timetable for boats. Fresh fruit in the room (really delicious...I Was amazed how the fruit was perfectly ripe), gorgeous fresh flowers that came with the hot water to make baby milk I ordered, very nice vanity products, extra products that could be bought, excellent Egyptian cotton for the towels, excellent bed in the room, yummy hand-made good-bye present of chocolates on check-out.Many languages spoken at reception. Guest list of staff at breakfast had list of languages spoken, based on booking...what a great idea. An amazing tradition of hotellerie...very impressive!!! Great location and beautiful decor in breakfast room....loved the terasse as well for breakfast over the Limatt river-

A transparent chocolate box from a previous guest was left under the desk in the bedroom, a few stains on carpet in bedroom, more time is needed for allocated cleaning per room. I had a single room and was given a free cot for my daughter under two which had bedlinen for her, as she is already 1 1/2 years old. The cot had a hole of about 15 cms at the back, looks a little shabby for such a famous hotel- Both bathroom and bedroom were a little small to my taste, despite the fact that I had a single room with a double bed, I felt that with a cot in particular it became very small. Rooms could use an update in decor, more antiques, nice paintings.

Not easy access by car the beds are 2 beside each other (no king or queen) The douch is swinging (you have to fix by hand each time)

Beautiful location overlooking the river can't be beat! Lovely comfortable clean accommodations, delicious first class restaurant, cordial responsive staff. Close to upscale shops and historic sites of interest. Wonderful experience, hated to have to leave!

Can't think of a thing to criticize. We enjoyed and appreciated everything!

The marvellous location and room with a view of the Limmat. The restaurant, both breakfast and dinner, were excellent, though expensive.

Only the expense - not their fault, as all of Switzerland is at present highly expensive for American travellers. But anywhere comparable elsewhere in Europe, for a three day stay, with the same cuisine and amenities, would have cost two thousand dollars, not three. Would recommend only to rich friends.

The concierge was very helpful and in fact everything was good.

The one fellow at the front desk (not the bald one) doesn't seem to like his job. He ordered me a limo & said he would put it on my hotel bill, which he failed to do causing problems in payment at the airport, which I thought very unprofessional. When I return to Zurich I will stay outside the city as I found all the prices over the top!
