location was great with easy access to the old city andrea at the front desk was extremely helpful throughout our stay rooms were very comfortable

unable to get my party of 6 in 1 room. had to get 2 rooms a bit pricey noisy at nights during the weekend

We chose HZWK mainly for the location as it is within walking distance from the train station and in Altstadt Luzern. Most of our friends had never been to Switzerland before and were interested in seeing as much history as possible. Another reason HZWK was chosen from the many available options was that each room had it's own facilities (WC, Shower...) This is a plus when traveling in a large group. The rooms were pleasantly appointed for the price range and most were quite comfortable. The staff there was exceptionally helpful, courteous and friendly and could easily converse in English with those who could not speak Swiss German. The restaurant staff was also very accommodating and helpful and the breakfast quite enjoyable with a little something available for everyone. (even vegetarians :-) The restaurant, while a bit higher priced, was also quite excellent and I was very pleased to find a wonderful fish and salad dish on the menu.

Our group booked several rooms there, (8-9) and unfortunately two rooms were right next to the pizza oven chimney, which made the rooms unbarably hot for the guests. The extra fans were not adequate and window airconditioning units really need to be added to make the rooms more comfortable. We were there during a relatively cool time of year. It must be rediculously hot during the Summer months, and renting these out to travelers would be quite cruel.

Value money and friendly place to stay to rest or business trip. Staff, room, clean, breakfast are all reasonable price. I will be back to stay again.

Can't fault the hotel for value for money, location and staff. Some may find the room to be on the smaller side, but it is cosy and in a great location.

The lack of information on a planned electricity cut. Although it was at middnight, I feel it is important to make guests aware of such a planned events.

Good location. Good restaurant

Please be aware - if you are traveling on Feb and going for a visit in Lucern check dates for the Carnival - it is right on the street and the hotel is a mess... I have stayed during Carnaval and if you are not going for this reason dont stay in this hotel - it is right in the middle of the chaos. Filthy, to say the least.

Location

It is in the perfect location right by the river banks of Lucerne, by the famous wooden bridge. Withing walking distance from the main station. The highlight of the hotel for me was the pizza place, they cook fresh stonebaked pizzas and this little restaurant is full on Fridays and Saturdays to the point it is hard to get a table, but well worth the wait as locals from around the area come for the food.

The breakfast is a little limited in terms of hot food, but has sufficient options. If they could add a couple of more items to the breakfast that would be perfect.

the hotel is in the center...great staff...great breakfast ...very good hotel-very recommended.

Staff is super helpful and friendly, multi lingual, you get 10% off dining in the in house restaurants (italian & asian), delicious breakfast bar included!

Good location and good price

The staff was excellent, welcoming and very helpful. Also, my room was great. Just the right size for one person with a great balcony to enjoy the city.

The only thing that would make the hotel perfect would be to have air conditioning available. But I understand that because of the historical building, this is not possible.

Terrible camp bed. Small room. No bath even though I requested it and it was advertised. Basic breakfast.

The reception staff were welcoming, friendly and VERY helpful. Great choices for breakfast and friendly service. Lovely liquid soap in bathroom Internet was free to use

The location is terrific

1) it's said the public parkins is available nearby... actually we could find it only on the other side of the lake (across the bridge); 2) I specifically asked for a quiet room, however I've got a quite noisy one and could hardly sleep at night.

Great location in old town close to shopping and resturants.

No A/C and it was hot, with windows open on a hot summer Friday nit ther was considerable street noise. Also, parking was a few blocks away.

Good location of hotel near the central station and near the Lake of Luzern. Excellent restaurant in the hotel with good service and great food. Very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk.

Absence of air-conditioning.

Centrally located

The rooms do not have airconditioning and the room I had felt like a hot sauna everytime I opened the door. The room was located on the side of the hotel which seemed to hold the heat and becasue you had to leave the windows open the noise from the street was deafening. I dd complain and was moved to a room in the back which was a few degrees cooler but just as noisy. I asked to cancel one night of a 3 night stay and was told I could leave but I would not be refunded the night I was not going to use. I showed my cancelation policy whech said I could cancel and still the hotel refused to refund one nights stay. The hotel receptionist was friendly and listened to my reason to cancel and spoke with the hotel manager who refused my request. I would not stay in this hotel again based on their customer service and noisiness of the hotel. In fairness it is centrally located but because of that fact the hotel needs to upgrade to double pane windows and airconditioning so that guests have a pleasant nights sleep and can feel comfortable while in their hotel room.

Good location, near chapel bridge

I stayed at room 501. It is too hot during summer, although there is a ceiling fan, but not enough. Shower cubicle is too small. There is a coffee machine, but it never works.

Triple room can be a bit bigger

Great location .5 min walk from the train station and close to all the attractions and transport facilities.

Though are room was facing a back street it was noisy as we had to leave the window open . though the room had a fan it was warm and hence the window had to be left open. Also the shower cubicle was really small
