Hotel Continental Zurich - MGallery Collection  

I was in Zurich to change trains on my way to Italy. The hotel is in a great location (up a slight hill) for both the station, centre of town and the river. The room was very nice, comfortable, good size, lovely shower. The air conditioning was very welcome as it was a very warm day/evening. I would have been happy to stay in this hotel for longer than one night - apart from concens raised below.

The sudden demand for a deposit of 100euros on arrival. I had no prior notice of this. I was only there for one night. Firstly this is excessive for a stay of one night. Secondly, if hotels want to charge a deposit then you should be informed prior to booking as this must surely form part of the Terms and Conditoins of your contract with them. Also they asked that I signed a Visa receipt for 99 euros on departure which I was assured was to confirm I'd stayed there, but the receipt did not say this, just 99 euros. I refused to sign as I'd already given them my visa card details. Very very disappointed and annoyed about both incidents.

Old furniture and too much dust

Location is perfect, safe for solo travellers. A Chinese restaurant next door helps in curbing my craving for Chinese food after a week of Western fare. Short walk to central station and Banhoftrasse.

Great value located within walking distance to the central city and the train station. Tram stop only a few metres from entrance as well. All staff encountered were extremely helpful and fluent in English. Would definitely stay there again if in Zurich.

location was not great... more a business hotel than a family one. We got an upgrade which was nice but would not liked to have seen the non-upgraded room! Breakfast @ 32 SF each?! Uh at the current exchange rate that is really ridiculous!

The staff are very good knowledgeable and willing to accommodate every demand. I liked the comfortable bed and the three pillows that come in different sizes to accommodate different sleep preferences, I thought that was something so thoughtful.The location is good, five minutes walk to the main station and Zurich city has the main station as its nerve centre. The famous shopping streets are easy walking distances.

There is no fitness centre in the hotel, no room has a window that opens to any views.The hotel is on the expensive side considering the size of the room but again remember, we are in Zurich!!

Very clean, friendly and helpful staff, quiet location close to the old city and train station.
