Location, Wilsons Bar, the big viewing deck, sunset & whale views, management & staff made you feel at home
This is a small (just 13 rooms), quiet place, with friendly staff. There is a small convenience store across the street and the circle island bus stops right in front of the resort. From the veranda of my room I had a nice view over a little garden towards the beach and the ocean. The cook was very helpful in making vegetarian dishes outside the menu.
The wifi is expensive and the breakfast gets a bit boring after a few days.
Value for money in this location, great and helpful staff, management very proactive in ensuring a good time was possible for all guests. Had excellent whale spotting, with an exciting display of leaping, tail and fin slapping just beyond the reefline barely 100 metres out! Group of humpbacks kept us entertained in the late afternoon as we gathered for sundowners on the beach. Good regular bus services around the island at the door, but the majority of the drivers needed lessons from one outstanding fellow who both entertained and informed at every opportunity! Facilities at Cadtaways are generally of 3.5 star standard, but with great personalised service from all staff, minor shortcomings were insignificant. Beach walks were a delight, as were many of the meals prepared in the Castaways kitchen.
This area of the lagoon, at least during our stay, was not conducive to swimming or snorkelling, due to the currents, rough water and rocky sea-bed. Cook Islands suffer from a poor slow and expensive communication system, which makes for very expensive and slow internet/Wifi access due to the low population base for the service. If the government was really intent on fostering tourism, much infrastructure needs either updating or, in some cases, completely replacing. Water supply, power and sewerage and waste management need a lot of work to ensure better, sustainable and environmentally sound services are put in place to better manage the high number of visitor beds on this island, and, I am sure, on most other islands in the group. Given the number of unique features to be found in this island nation, probably only international support can help achieve the best outcomes.
Friendly owners and the comfortable self-catered siute
Church bells at 4am
great staff, helpful. my room was right on beach front. great bar and food. good entertainment. close for bike or scooter hire. good beach facilities definitely stay again
only as have to pick something...internet so expensive. but that's it!
Friendly staff, location, room size, bar happy hour
Nothing to not like.
Paul and Michelle are wonderful people and we couldn't fault the place in the 10 nights we were there. Very relaxing and friendly and everything you could ever need all on site. Close to town bus outside the gate, shop across the road, beautiful lagoon where you can hand feed the reef fish. Food excellent. Cant wait to go back !
Coming home and leaving our new friends
The location was great and the owners and staff were super helpful. Every thing we required was available. They went out of our way to help us. Sunset was amazing from the bar and we saw whales swim by one evening. Fantastic place to stay, I highly recommend it.
Roosters were annoying but the owners are aware of that and plans are being made about this.
Michelle and Paul are incredible hosts! Two bars and a restaurant provide everything you need to survive the day. The food is good, bar drinks wonderful, sunsets incredible!
Nice place to stay, friendly staff, a bit out of the centre - transportation is always needed.
2 bed apartment roomy
located in residental area , room on road front very noisy ,complex surrounded by DOGS! which bark and fight all nite, room cleaning very poor. breakfast very basic, beach not good for swimming and snorkling. to many dogs on site and on beach front
Nice clean facilities, in a quiet location, staff are friendly and helpful, overall a good setting to relax.
Bed is hard, there are only a few restaurant options nearby, otherwise you have to go into the town or Muri on your scooter at night- which can be unpleasant.
Excellent Restaurant with revolving cultural menu each night of the week (Mexican, Italian, BBQ etc ). Wilsons Bar on beach front excellent for catching sunsets also Happy Hour time. Continental Breakfast included. Staff & owners very accommodating
Michelle and Paul and the other staff were very friendly and always extremely helpful when it came to our questions/sorting anything out. Our room was very comfortable and well kept. We had no trouble sleeping at night as the resort is a nice cosy size (only 12 rooms). We had some awesome sunsets there. Perhaps the only downside was the lack of a spacious beach to swim in at the resort, but we just hopped on our scooter and went exploring as awesome beaches are never too far away in Raro!
Management and staff are wonderfully friendly, generous and helpful. Very convenient having breakfast included, and the option of the restaurant on site for evening meals. Meals can be served at the bar right on the beach. Great location on the sunset side of the island.
Snorkeling is good right behind the resort, but only at high tide. When the tide is out the water is only ankle deep.
Paul & Michelle are awesome & extremely accommodating. So helpful & friendly & no request seems too hard. We even booked a transfer to an island show & the company forgot to pick us up so Paul drove us there. They have a beach bar which is so chilled watching sunset, even do pizza night thurs nights with awesome live tunes. Great food. Loved everything!
the owners and staff great team work
Very attentive staff, good sized rooms, excellent restaurant on site, very close to beach, quiet.
Ongoing issues with Air conditioner (leaking water)
Very friendly and welcoming hosts & staff, great breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, decent room, nice beachfront bar at decent prices ($6.50 for a beer), close to town, nice pool, stunning beach right outside the resort. Loved our stay here - we'll be back!!
Internet very expensive ($9 for 50mb) but that seems to be common in the Cook Islands.
Perfect location. Bus at the front door. Not too far from town. Shop across the road. Units right on the beach. Having our own kitchen.
Internet expensive in Cook Islands.
everything weather location owners no fault found just a great place to stay and chill
getting bitten on the elbow by some hungry insect
Stepping out of the room and twenty steps to the beach and the ocean! So relaxing and clean clear waters
No problems encountered
Michelle & Paul were excellent, made it so comfy.Great getaway without any kids around
The owners were fantastic, really friendly and chatty, Island time is great!
Very humid, hottest summer for 22 years, sweltering!!!
Lovely, Relaxing stay. Best 10 day break away in paradise, clean and tidy, pool was clean and room service was fantastic
Although the breakfast was basic and nice (toast, spreads, fresh fruit, cornflakes, weetbix and it did fill the gap, I would have liked to have had muesli as an option or the single serves of cereals so you could have more variety but that's the only thing I can fault.
