We were looking for something private and which would have enough space, plus the BBQ facilities. The pictures on the internet looked great and we were pleased to find out that the actual villa looked exactly like on the pictures. Liana was very welcoming and professional. We enjoyed our experience and would like to come and stay there again
The only downside was the ants which appeared on the kitchen's bench every night
Love, love, loved Ocean Spray Villa's. Fabulous location, style, quality, furnishings & everything about it. Stunning place to stay & when in Rarotonga again (soon I hope) we will definitely stay here again.
If I had to think of something, it would be to have additional clothes line to hang towels/clothes. Due to the humidity it took longer to get things dry. But other than that all was fabulous.
The spaciousness of the Villa, the proximity to downtown Avarua. The ease with which we could access everything - with the help of a rental car. The Villa was extremely well equipped and we were thrilled that we had found it on the internet. We cannot speak highly enough of the standard of accommodation. Travelling as a large (5) family group of adults, we had more than enough room so that no-one felt in the way of anyone else. Cannot recommend Ocean Spray Villa highly enough
the beach was not suitable for swimming, but we were aware of that prior to making our booking.
Very comfortable modern accommodation, great facilities - very private - right on the beach front
Not the best snorkelling beach - a ride / drive up the road to the best spots.
Lovely place to stay with everything you need for a self contained holiday. Beautiful views and sunset from decks.
Bed in master bedroom needs to be replaced. Roll together, springs and way too soft. New or shaper knives needed in kitchen also.
The villa was very well appointed and comfortable and very roomy, It is close to the main town and within walking distance to many restaurants, all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
It is positioned right on the beach. But that beach is not suitable for snorkelling, it is not far to travel to the other side of the island to where the swimming and snorkelling is sensational.
The quietness of the area.
Just a shame you can't swim straight out from the house. As you are close to other great beaches this is just a minor dislike.
Easy walking distance to town: great patio for surf watching, star gazing, al fresco dining
That the water isn't potable. However, to be fair, except for resortsnone of the island's water is potable.
Quality accommodation right on the beach, absolutely delighted.
The villa was very spacious, clean, modern and the location was amazing. Perfect for the 4 of us as we each had our own space and did not feel cramped over the 6 day visit. The glass door in the dining area opens up onto the terrace that overlooks the beach. The beach was only a few steps away, good for wading and taking a quick dip but too rocky and shallow to swim. It's almost like your own private beach as there's hardly anyone around. The times we were out in the water, we saw maybe up to two people walking by! The terrace was amazing for mid-afternoon naps. Both Anton and Liana were very friendly. Anton was working on a new house next door so it was convenient whenever we had questions, all we had to do was step out the front door and yell over to him. Very accomodating. Bedrooms had large beds (full/queen) and enough closet/storage for us to unpack. The bathrooms were clean and modern, loved the showerheads, had constant hot water, and had good enough pressure. We cooked a couple of dinners and breakfasts at the villa and they had everything we needed in terms of pots/pans/utensils, etc. They had speakers which we hooked up to our ipods to play music. The house gets cleaned and linens get changed every few days so that was nice as we ended up tracking sand all over the place after our daily excursions to the beach and to town. Avarua town is very close, within a 10 min walk or a 2 minute drive. We opted to rent a car and it was perfect for our group. I loved this villa, you get more for your money than some of the more expensive hotels!
This isn't the owners fault but there are roosters all over town and they constantly crow all day into the early evening. They start around 5:30-6am and some mornings I've heard them crowing every 5 minutes. That was disruptive to our sleep most mornings, but again, this isn't the owners fault. Just something everyone observed everywhere on the island. Another thing we didn't anticipate was the building of a new home right next door to ours (by the same owners). On the days we opted to stay home to relax and didn't head out for excursions or sunbathing, it was a little tough to relax on the terrace when there was hammering and construction going on in such close proximity. They did try to keep the noise level down and they plan on finishing the house mid-november so those that are coming after that time should not encounter this.
