My husband and I have stayed here in mid March for 13 days. This was our first visit to Rarotonga. Since the best beaches for swimming and snorkeling are on the southern side I was considering the resorts on that side. Then I saw this beautiful villa. I'm so glad we picked this place. On sunny days we enjoyed the amazing view, beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the balcony. On rainy days, instead of sitting on a bed in a small resort room we enjoyed the nice ocean view from the large living room.
Kitchen has everything (microwave, toaster, pots & pans, nice plates, mugs, etc.). I didn't cook, but we used the french press coffee maker everyday. Every afternoon we enjoyed our coffee on the balcony watching the beautiful waves. It was very relaxing.
The bed was comfortable. Some people had complained that it was too soft, so I was worried about that. It wasn't soft at all. I checked the other beds, none of them were soft. Showers were big and the water pressure was good. The TV was nice. We watched our favorite series that we brought on a portable hard drive and some nice movies from Anton's collection.
A young lady cleans up the house twice a week. You don't see her much, but when you enter the house you notice that it's been visited by that nice cleaning fairy. Thanks to her, the villa was always clean. About tiny ants: We've seen those micro ants on every island we visited. Unless you live on a high floor of a high rise building you'll see insects. If you keep your food in the refrigerator, they won't bother you.
We rented a car. My husband got used to driving on the "wrong side" within a couple days. It is not a big island anyway. There is no traffic jam. On cloudy, rainy days we explored the back roads and saw beautiful flowers and cute animals. Locals take very good care of their yards. Don't forget to visit the Saturday morning market.
Unlike some Caribbean islands, Rarotonga is a very safe place to visit.
