Staff were undertrained for a 5 star resort. They were more concerned about setting up for the next meal than serving customers. Dirty dishes were left on the table for the whole meal. Breakfast was cheap and not 5 star. We have stayed at many 5 star resorts and this was the worst by far. Staff reached across people to serve, we were ignored when trying to get their attention and meals were average. Rooms were Ok but not very big.

Our room was nice, the view was great, pool area nice.

Not 5 star as rated. Staff poorly trained, inattentive and, at times, rude. Breakfast was disappointing for a 5 star resort and the price paid. Pool bar was not attended as ended. Happy hour was a joke. Nowhere to sit and have a drink as a group of 6.

Friendly staff. Lagoon and snorkelling very good. The resort was for adults only. The rooms faced the lagoon.

For a 5 star hotel paying $nz420 per night the breakfast was very poor and anything cooked cost extra. Used dishes were not usually removed from table whilst having breakfast. Meals and drinks were quite expensive and the availability to have a sandwich (other than a club sandwich at $19.90) or something light (E.G. chicken wings) at lunchtime was non existent. Service was usually quite slow. The fact that the resort was not within walking distance of other restaurants was quite restrictive.

The staff were fantastic and I loved the beach

Was being kept awake after midnight by drunk people either having fights or talking very loudly. I feel if you are paying that sort of money you should expect a nice quiet time at any time of the day or night because of that I only 1 decent nights sleep, so in turn felt like I have been staying in an hostel as they are always like that and being my first time not in a hostel I was totally disappointed at being kept awake.

It was a nice place for a quiet retreat.

The bikes were in poor shape-not ready to ride.

We only ate one meal and it was not good. We ordered boullabaise and it was more like consomme...very watery. So we ate out after that.

Fantastic staff made us feel welcome & pampered. Staff also had a great sense of humour & were really friendly & helpful. good room size, nice & clean, beach right on your doorstep. Nice Pool, breakfast every morning as part of the package was great, plenty to eat & choose from.

Great location directly on the beach. Hotel restaurant was excellent and for the quality of food reasonably priced compared to the competition in Raro and Aitutaki.

Our accommodation unit was directly on the beach, but we had to go around to get into the water. It was only a 50 meters or so - no big deal...

Both couples found the service very poor for a five star resort. the bbq dinner and show was great but we had to clear away our own dishes off the table. customer service was poor and only a few staff were helpful and Bill in our resort was the only one that tended to our needs. Cleaning staff knocked on our door the day we were departing at 9.00am to see if we had checked out when I said no he asked what time we were leaving so he could clean the room.

We loved everything about the Rarotongan Resort. It was perfect. The snorkelling was fabulous - just walk in off the beach and you see the most gorgeous fish. The staff were great and our room, facing the lagoon, was out of this world. It was perfect!

Extremely friendly service from every single member of staff. Excellent restaurant.

Frühstück war gut

Obwohl das Hotel nur minimal gebucht war, mussten wir 3 H auf das Zimmer warten. Hotel ist recht neu, wirkt aber düster und verstaubt. Strand kaum gegeben - ist minimal aufgeschüttet. 4% Kreditkartengebühr!

On a marine reserve, great snorkelling. Very comfortable room, the bed seemed to be fairly good quality. Enjoyed the umu feast and the dancers. Loved our spa experience, and our complimentary bottle of wine! Great decor, love all the natural accents. Being on the adult side of the resort was essential, very quiet.

Very slow service in Captain Andy's Bar and Grill for the last 3 days of our trip. Not sure if they were understaffed, but we ended up going to the bar to try to place our own orders, since we waited on average 30 minutes and no one came to serve us. The first 2 days or so, the service was fine, so we really noticed when it took a nosedive. We were seriously thinking of just renting a car to go somewhere else for food, but we were on our last day, and didn't think it was worth the hassle. We didn't eat at the Sanctuary restaurant, maybe it would be better.
