Location was good, and one of their employees was finally able to cancel my remaining 2 nights
This hotel has a policy that you are not allowed to take guests to your room! This is not disclosed at the time of booking, and the check-in clerk did not disclose this to me. This paternalistic rule is is an insult to adults, and it should be disclosed to all people looking at the hotel. After holding firm, I was able to cancel my two remaining rooms. The wifi also went out on the one night I was there and the evening clerk was unable to fix it. Everyone, beware of the guest policy!
It was cheap and located near San Christobel and a plaza with wall to wall great restaurants, and craft stalls.Breakky was included and was a ham and cheese toasty. There was air conditioning and free wifi. It was possible to boil water for tea in a Pyrex jug in the microwave.
The room smelled of a previous smoker, and the carpet through the hallway and up the stairs was filthy. The room was old and shoddy but the staff cleaned it daily and did their best with their facilities. It wasn't until the 3rd and final night that we were able to make our wishes known for an earlier breakfast despite attempting each day. The staff had extremely limited English but at least that was better than our Spanish. The street below was noisy about 16 hours per day, so if you were a light sleeper it may bother you. The wifi only worked some of the time. And stopped working altogether after a day and a half. There was a peculiar requirement to leave your key at reception. I would not recommend this apartment to others.
