The wifi did not work while we were there. This is an issue all over Easter Islan not just here. There is a cafe right around the corner (Toromiro) with free wifi for customers but they only allow a limited number of devices on at a time. There was an internet cafe about 5 minute walk away but we did not use it. If having reliable wifi is important to you, don't go to Easter Island.
The best part of our stay was Juan and his family. They were very kind and friendly and helpful. Juan drove us to and from the airport for no charge.
The hostel was clean, the communal kitchen well equipped for cooking. Nice hot shower. The towels were comfortable. The staff cleaned the room daily which most budget accommodations do not do.
Breakfast was bread, butter, cheese, jam, tea/instant coffee, the typical free offerings for breakfast in Chile. It was enough to get you started on your day.
The location is perfect. Less than half a block from the main street, but far off enough that it was nice and quiet at night. Variety of restaurants, grocery store, and panaderia nearby. We ended up buying our dinners from the panaderia most nights.
My son spent a lot of time in the courtyard playing. Juan and his family were eating dinner outside one night and they offered him a plate of cake. He loved it!
Do not expect a mint on your pillow or a luxurious room. This is a solid budget option. If you want a clean basic room, a private bath, a communal kitchen, great location, and a friendly local host, this is the place for you.
