The best part of our stay was Juan and his family. They were very kind and friendly and helpful. Juan drove us to and from the airport for no charge. The hostel was clean, the communal kitchen well equipped for cooking. Nice hot shower. The towels were comfortable. The staff cleaned the room daily which most budget accommodations do not do. Breakfast was bread, butter, cheese, jam, tea/instant coffee, the typical free offerings for breakfast in Chile. It was enough to get you started on your day. The location is perfect. Less than half a block from the main street, but far off enough that it was nice and quiet at night. Variety of restaurants, grocery store, and panaderia nearby. We ended up buying our dinners from the panaderia most nights. My son spent a lot of time in the courtyard playing. Juan and his family were eating dinner outside one night and they offered him a plate of cake. He loved it! Do not expect a mint on your pillow or a luxurious room. This is a solid budget option. If you want a clean basic room, a private bath, a communal kitchen, great location, and a friendly local host, this is the place for you.
The wifi did not work while we were there. This is an issue all over Easter Islan not just here. There is a cafe right around the corner (Toromiro) with free wifi for customers but they only allow a limited number of devices on at a time. There was an internet cafe about 5 minute walk away but we did not use it. If having reliable wifi is important to you, don't go to Easter Island.
The room is big and clean with terrace to the garden. They placed flowers in the room. Many plugs there. The shower was good, some days without hot water. Breakfast was ok, kitchen clean. Hotel just one building behind the mainroad with all Restaurants, Shops and Supermarket.
The owner family live there an often they play loud music with there tape. In the evening the guest sit on the open veranda and have loud conversation til after midnight.
- fantastic family atmoshpere - great location - wonderful hosts - best place for real travellers
Low room price, close to main street and with a nice garden. Free pick up at airport and transfer back.
Early morning the bakers in the back of the hotel started working with a lot of noise. The owner of the hotel was very quiet (or not seen at all) during the day but held extremly noisy gatherings with friends and some of the other guests several late evenings, sometime long after midnight.
Grease family business Wonderfull and helpful people, warm welcome at airport when arrived ;)) BIG THANKS FOR grandfather for fresh grilled fish and island tour ;) tress amigos from Polonia;)) thank you so much miss you !!!
NOTHING! We should stay longer ;)
staff very helpful with planning trips ,
Once we arrived on Rapa Nui we grabbed a map at the airport and walked to the hotel. It was about a 15 to 20 minute walk. Once we got to the hotel, there was music playing and the staff was bbqing fresh fish! The staff explained that another staff member had gone to the airport to pick us up. After eating and drinking a few beers, the staff member arrived back from the airport. He had two Polynesian lei's for us. After receiving the lei's, we checked in and paid the same price that we had booked the room for online. At no point in time did they ever try to rip us off or charge extra money for something. The internet/wifi worked good and allowed for us to make posts on Facebook. I think we did have a little trouble with using Skype. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a nice big matrimonial bed and a single bed. The bathroom was private. The shower always had warm/hot water. The hotel also provided us with towels. Every morning the hotel provided breakfast, which is included in the price of the room. The breakfast consisted of local bread with either jam or cheese. You are also able to toast the bread. There was also tea and coffee. The hotel is located in the city center of Hanga Roa. Within a short distance you are by local stores and a bakery. There are also 5 to 7 different restaurants. The only ATM that accepts international debit cards is also in walking distance of the hotel. Once you are by this ATM, you are also near the coast. In this area there are more restaurants with a clear view of the Pacific Ocean. You will also find Moai statues and different ancient sculptures along this part of the coast. During our stay one of the staff members took me fishing. I thought we would walk a few feet towards the coast in the neighborhood of the hotel. Instead we drove to "Te Pitoote Hanua", also known as the "Navel of the Earth". This was one of the most amazing experiences that I have had in my life.
Having to go home
The staff was great they did everything to help us out and make our stay plesant.
Very good people. Everything was OK.
Some not large noise in the morning because bakery is nearby.
Friendly staff. Airport transfers are included - I didn't know that and nearly missed mine. Nice continental breakfasts with bread, cheese and jam. Banana cake too, if you are lucky. Good location close to shops, tour and hire-companies.
Bedroom walls are a bit thin, so you might need earplugs. Wifi comes and goes, but that is the same island-wide, no fault of the system here.
It is a complex hotel. The owners are very friendly and helpfull but they don't have a hotel spirit running through their veins. For example the wifi was disconnected because the lady at the reception had the boost her own private internet. Breakfast was poor and the kitchen filthy. The rooms though were cleaned everyday but very basic. It has its charm (you receive on arrival a beautifull flower neckless) don't get up high hopes. But the norm on the island is different from the mainland and everything is more expensive.
the owner and his grandson are awesome! very sweet and a great driver for all the sites. honest and helpful too. great value and close to downtown - literally within 2 mins!
0 wi-fi, but that was pretty much all through town.
Good location basically on the Main Street. Breakfast was simple, just bread cheese and sometimes jam but that's the norm in Chile. The owner Juan is very nice and funny and a great guy. I was also picked up at the Aiport which I wasn't expecting!
I spoke Spanish but if you didn't it would be hard to do a tour or talk to the family. Wifi only worked one day of the 6 that I stayed here.
Really good staff and family! They invited me to a Curanto which was really good! Unfortunately I was too tired and didn't stay long. But I really enjoyed being with them. The room was clean, nice with a big bed. Good location near the main street and harbour. I highly recommend any traveller to stay there.
- Staff was super friendly - Room & Bed comfy - Clean room (daily service) - Hot shower - basic but good breaky - free airport pick up - good very central location
- staff not much around - kitchen could be cleaner - Return drive to airport 5$USD p.p., therefore we had to pay 10$ for a 5 min drive...
The water of the shower is either very hot or very cold. It can't be adjusted properly.
Staff was very friendly. Hot shower was good.
The bed/room was bit smelly like mold smell. Cheese had mold when I have breakfast.
location, price, staff
strange smell of gas, island is generally expensive
Super friendly and accommodating staff! Nice common areas for guests to meet and mingle. Free breakfast. Good location for the price as it's just off the main street for shopping and car rentals and tours.
Wi-fi connection wasn't very consistent or fast. Im not sure how much control they have over that given the remoteness of the island though.
Big room, comfortable
I saw booking.com has promocion and booked it, but the Staff said booking.com price is not correct, so I pay much higher even I had booked in booking.com
We chose this hotel because it is in a central position and offers any kind of tour. Don Juan, Kimberly and all the staff is fantastic. Don Juan was wating us at the airport with a wreath of flowers and everybody welcomed us like members of their family. We have been here for our honey moon and we really had a great time. For this special occasion they prepared our room with flowers and offered us a welcome drink.
Location was central
Shared room with cockroaches and worms, bathroom curtain looked like somebody just puked on it, toilet flush did not work...although was repared same day, the lady who picked us up never had a friendly word and always looked annoyed, breakfastroom was dark and tables were always full of bread crumbs from the day before
Central location in Hanga Roa Good breakfast
You need to remember that everything is much more expensive on the island, so don't expect the same standards for the same price
The staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. After only staying one night 3 days later they recognised me by name and went out of their way to help me find my next hotel, even though I was not staying with them, and offered me a room if I couldn't find it. And the bed was so comfortable!
Perfect location, very close to the main road. Very large room. They allowed us to stay in the room also the last day and check out in the evening just before the flight.
A deep smell of mould in the room. A little dirty room with mould in the wardrobe and on the walls. Cockroachs in the rooms.
