Hotel Diego de Almagro is situated in the middle of Valparaiso’s bustling business district, 330 ft from the ocean shores. It boasts an outdoor swimming pool and a restaurant.
Score from 436 reviews Very good
Tastefully decorated rooms can be enjoyed in this early 20th Century refurbished big house. It is located in the heart of Concepción Hill, just 5 blocks from Puerto Metro Station in Valparaiso.
Score from 144 reviews Wonderful

Splendid terrace!!!perfect Location, very nice staff!
Rooms very small.
Very well located, close to the main "bairros" of Valparaiso, but not really inside the busy and too turistic districts. Anyway it's very easy to reach by bus (490 pesos) or colective taxi (400 pesos). By taxi from the bus station it's 10/15 minutes (5500 pesos) People working there are very nice and helpfull. Breakfast it's very good, taken in the terrace overlooking the city.
The room, duple with shared bathroom, it's not that big, and also the toilet it's quite small, but still is ok, considered that it's shared with just one more room
Great views of the city from the terrace and it's in the perfect location to explore the central cerros. The breakfast was amazing with fresh fruit, great coffee, avocado, goats cheese and fresh bread. Fabiola also gave us some great restaurant and bar recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.
Staff very friendly and helpful, lovely rooms, terrace and breakfast. Easy walk into old town for restaurants/bars.
Beautiful view over Valparaiso, Vina del Mar and all up the coast to Concon. Enjoying a very nice breakfast on the patio outside while the sun is rising. The B&B is a 15 minutes walk from the pretty old center. If you don't like walking just take the bus that stops 100 meter from the B&B. Friendly and helpful staff.
nothing in particular.
Very friendly hostess who gave us really helpful information for planning our weekend, excellent breakfast, incredible view! I would definitely recommend this B&B if you don't want to be in the very centre of Valparaíso and are happy to walk 20-30 minutes to the main sites, as it was very comfortable and peaceful
Awesome location if you want to explore Valparaiso...
Outstanding breakfast with fresh juice, home-made marmalade and great cappuccino. Very clean, good shower, comfortable bed. Fantastic view over Valparaiso. Stylish design. Everything still in walking distance.
we thought you can easily walk everywhere, but the B&B is on a hill and it may take 15 minutes.
The breakfast was very good. Erica and Faviola were both very helpful. We cooked our own dinner and sat on the deck admiring the great view. Comfortable rooms
WiFi was strong, staff great
Location a challenge for walking to, but collectivo taxi only cost about .75 cents US.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Clean rooms, quiet, could walk down to the centre and get the collectivo back. Good kitchen facilities.
The shared shower was temperamental, and the toilet didn't flush well.
the staff was really kind.
nothing in special. it was apleas eant experience!
Views, room, location. The views are really amazing
Hard to get at night. There are not many options for a late meal around the place.
Location Accommodation Staff- very helpful, friendly and informative Great view Awesome breakfast
Very small bathroom in one of the rooms
The view. Breakfast.
Difficult to communicate with non English speaking staff
Great little hotel overall. It has a wonderful view of the town and the ocean. The owner is very helpful and kind.
Was on the pricey side.
A very cozy and nice B&B. They have a wooden deck with a wonderful view of Valparaiso.
It is a little overpriced, considering that it is more a B&B than a hotel.
We stayed only one night on a double bedroom with shared bathroom. We liked everything. We had a very good welcome reception on our arrival, the lady who welcomed us was very friendly and helpful. She gave us a very good introduction of the place ,surround area, things to do, where to go, aways locating things on a map.The Hostal has an amazing view of the seaport from a balcony where we had our breakfast. The room was very clean and the room/floor we stayed was all brand new and well decorated.Very good shower, quiet room. The whole place looks like a big House with a living room which was very cute, all made by wood with tables, travel guides, books, internet, magazines. The whole decoration was was simple but of very good taste.Breakfast was amazing with fresh fruits and warm breads, very nice coffee all lovely. We regretted not being able to stay one more night and we would highly recommend Camila109!
We found it difficult to locate the Hostal as it is hiding at the end of a 'cul de sac' street.
Fantastic wide ranging views. Lovely breakfast. Very nice staff. I really have no significant complaints. The price was right. Travelers should know it is further away from the heart of the walking tour than are the majority go hotels. Be prepared to walk a lot! However, there are numerous buses, collectives and regular taxis.
Fantastic views of the coast, very accommodating staff. Good value for money.
Bed and bath were more suited to a hostel than a b&b or hotel.
Valparaiso is a must see place and the owner Ulises gave perfect advice to approach it - sights, restaurants, ... We had the best room of this beautiful small house, large enough and great view over the city and bay. Other rooms are much smaller but everybody has great views from the lobby and terrace. Great breakfast. Good WiFi.
Finding the place with a rental car was quite an experience, even the navigator was in trouble. So, we left the car in the garage and found the buses and metro very good. The use of toilette required some special measures.
The B&B was in a perfect location......walking distance (on a flat road) to everything Valparaiso has to offer visitors. And that wonderful front deck with views over the bay.....prefect for breakfast, a quiet read, or a glass of wine. The people running the B&B are unintrusive so the place is yours and that is nice.
The room I was in was prefect in every way......except I could hear the people in the next room......no worries about that except they arrived late....and then got on their mobile at 12.30 am
Location, staff, breakfast, attention to detail, communication, rooms.
I didn't like that I stayed here only one night! Should have stayed longer.
