Hotel del Cerro    

I thought it was a very interesting hotel with all the amenities.Breakfast in the small bar next door was plentiful and healthy.Noisy outside at night however I had a room at the rear.The staff were really attentive and helpful.I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Valparaiso.

It was clean and newly remodeled

Very small room barely any room for luggage it was in Valparaiso and we went there .

Location - a colourful location by the port. Friendly staff.

The room we got had no windows except for one leading into the reception. Very small and dark too. I understand, however, that there are much better rooms there for the same price. This one, unfortunately, should not be offered at all or at half the price at most. If you book here, make sure you get a nice room with a view, otherwise you might prefer staying elsewhere.

Location was perfect for our 2-day stay. Manager was AAA+!!!

Power somewhat reliable & long stairway entry. Noise is unavoidable in Valpo.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with giving us information on getting a bus to vina del mar, also getting us a taxi at 7am and telling them where to take us. Location was very good, right at a taxi stop in the central cleaner part of valparaiso.

If you like stuffy stale rooms with no aircon, fan or windows, (our room was not on the street front) with the added bonus of noise from the receptionist talking on the phone, typing and making noise in general all night long, then this is the place for you. The walls are so thin you can hear everything happening in the hotel, we were lucky to get any sleep at all. The shower is terrible in all ways possible, tiny, the mixer tap is so sensitive and you cant help but bump it on to boiling hot due to the small size of the shower. The smell of cigarette smoke comes up through the floor from the cafe/bar below at night. The breakfast leaves much to be desired, we shared a piece of toast, little bit of avocado, muesli and tiny plate of scrambled eggs. I think they try spread a meal for one between two. If you dont want to pay the 19% tax (which you shouldnt have to if you are a short term tourist to the country) you have to pay in us dollars cash. Which makes it very hard if you dont carry us dollars. You should be able to pay with a foreign credit card and not have to pay the tax but they say they require cash. This seems dodgey to me, especially so that other hotels accept foreign credit cards to avoid the tax. I had to withdraw pesos and go to a currency converter. So I lost money on getting it converted. I was very unhappy with this setup.

really good central location, walking distance to everything

the rooms facing the street are really noisy all night long. almost impossible to sleep as there are people partying until sunrise every single night in the plaza below. a room facing inside would solve this potential problem

Staff is very kind and helpful. Location is perfect. Spacious and comfortable bedrooms with cable tv.

Front bedrooms are a bit noisy during the night, since the hotel is close to party spots. If you plan to sleep early to enjoy the daylight, choose a rear bedroom.

Bed was comfortable. Room was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

No elevator. Small shower stall. A lot of street noise, needed to buy ear plugs. Had to put throw rugs in closet because they were very slick on wood floors. Both of us almost fell when the rugs slipped out from under us.

Location was excellent and staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and internet worked well.

Had trouble with toilet running.

All night lomng drumming and shouting form the nearby square broken-up by police only at 6am!!!Parking cost 3x what we were advised

Bastante agradable todo, la pieza, el personal y todo en general muy bueno, totalmente recomendable.

Un problema fue que en la calle estaban haciendo unos arreglos y el ruido en la noche era algo molesto, pero se entiende que esto es un asunto externo al Hotel y no hay mucho que hacer...

Hotel del Cerro is brilliantly located at the base of Almirante Montt road which leads up past some great artisan shops and cafes and through some of the great street art of Valpariso. The hotel is a great older building, newly renovated and with great character. There's a nice outdoor area and computers available for use. The rooms are very clean, the beds comfortable and the staff very helpful. Breakfast is in a art/cafe next door and provides 3 or 4 options for breakfast.

Some rooms may be a little small for those with huge amounts of luggage.

The hotel is located near the "party area" of valparaiso, so during the night you can hardly sleep because of the noise outside. We could hear everybody shouting, singing, playing instruments and crashing some bottles. Ask for a room that doesn´t face the street... Breakfast is served outside the hotel in a pub right downstairs... not the best place...

Only problem is noise at night. If go back will ask for room at back. Noise outside not in hotel.

Wonderful staff and quality service I must say. I gave good for staff cause some could not communicate in English but even then you could tell they were happy to have me at the hotel. I would recommend a friend to stay at the hotel del cerro.

Time for breakfast starts rather late for business. Official time is 9 to 12. Should consider asking the customer and also endevour to serve as early as 7am for exceptional cases.

The room was lovely. The character remained even though it had been updated.

Too noisy. My room was off the lobby and people clomped up the stairs well after 1 a.m. The buzzer downstairs rang late at night. The night clerk worked away at his computer and played music I could hear in my room. In the morning when people checked out, they had loud conversations outside my door. There should be a sign reminding people in the lobby that people's rooms are right there.

Que no tenga estacionamiento propio. Pero nada que no se pueda solucionar.

Hotel muito charmoso, é uma antiga casa transformada em hotel, com 3 andares de acomodações e um ótimo e personalizado café da manha no restaurante aí lado. Excelente! Recomendo!

Por ser uma casa antiga, os cômodos sao pequenos, porém isso não tira a qualidade so serviço prestado.

Do atendimento. As duas Danielas são extremamente simpáticas e atenciosas. Me ensinaram muito sobre Valpo, sobre sua história e sobre as opções culturais e de lazer. Adoráveis! O quarto, apesar de pequeno, é ótimo e o wi-fi funciona perfeitamente.

Do café da manhã. Havia um cachorro fedorento dentro do bar/restaurante, que fica ao lado do hotel e onde o café é servido. Além disso, havia poucas opções.

Se tiver mais de 85 kg e 1,80 não consegue tomar banho. O café da manhã, seria melhor não existir.... péssimo....

En general el servicio es bueno.

Falta aparcamiento.El hotel debería hacer convenio con estacionamiento cercano y ofrecerlo como opcional a sus clientes.Estacionar en la calle en la zona del hotel es caótico y muy complicado buscar estacionamieno sin conocer la ciudad que es muy compleja con sus callejuelas.

En especial la calidad humana encontrada, la ayuda optenida por la Srta. Daina Figeroa B. fomentan la visita al Hotel del Cerro, tambien la ubicacion en el centro, hacen tener variadas opciones en Valparaiso.

Primero la localización, después de que el servicio de recepción, especialmente con el "Danielas" pq son dos, las habitaciones son muy confortables (cama grande llena de lino y edredones), limpieza y complementarias que Internet las 24 horas con el derecho Cafe (Nescafé soluble) o cha (té). Estructuramos è viejo (rústico), pero fue remodelado y ambientado para la comodidad.
