Claudia was very hospitable and made us feel right at home and explained the local vegetation and bosque.

Very friendly, close to Valdivia, great breakfast, nice rooms and very comfortable common/breakfast area. Edgardo was very knowledgable about what to see around Valdivia and about the trees and plants in their mini-forest around their place.

Edgardo and Claudia are very hospitable hosts. They took the time to sit with us and showed us on a map the places of interests and good restaurants in Valdivia. They also serve a nice breakfast of homemade breads, jam, fruits, cereal and eggs. Edgardo also gave us a tour of the forrest behind the property and showed us the various native trees and plants. It's a quiet property. The rooms are clean and spacious.

We received an email with directions to get to their hotel, but it was in Spanish. We made our reservations through the Argentinian Booking.com site, so they thought we were fluent in Spanish (rightfully so). Google did not properly translate their directions in English. The suburb of Los Maitenes is very hard to find, partially as a result of road construction. There is no sign on the 205 North Hwy towards Santiago that will tell you where it is. We drove all the way to the airport from Valdivia and asked someone for directions and he told us to follow him. We would not have found the neighborhood without that man's help.

Edgardo & Claudia were very helpful, excellent hosts. We recieved great advice with regards to what to see & where to eat in Valdiva & beyond. Breakfasts were tasty & plentiful. Located in the countryside a car would be helpful. Lots of birdwatching opportunities. Rooms were large & CLEAN! Valdiva is a lovely & interesting city.

Kitchen was very large and well equiped, the beds very comfortable with cotton sheets and many blankets (we even got extra pillows!), and the staff friendly and accomodating...they were excellent hosts! Hot showers, clean bathrooms, and a lush beautiful garden...herbs and fresh berries too! They are building two hot tubs on the property in a forest of trees...perfect placement to relax!

That we had to leave this paradise! Highly recommend!

Direct contact with the owners, who are the kindest and most helpful people. Great place, quiet, nature-aware, healthy, relaxed. In the great city of Valdivia and near extraordinarily beautiful natural parks and reserves.

It is a bit far from the city center, so you need a taxi to commute.

El verlos actuar con relación a la Naturaleza fue prueba fehaciente de que lo que ofrecen, ellos lo viven.

Excelente servicio de parte de sus dueños, Edgardo y Claudia, nos ayudaron mucho dandonos muchos datos sobre lugares importantes que conocer y como llegar, además de muy buena voluntad. El lugar es muy hermoso y tranquilo, habitaciones grandes y muy limpias. El desayuno excelente! Die Eigentümer des Hostals sind sehr freundliche und offene Personen, die gerne über ihre Stadt erzählen und unglaubliche viele hilfreiche Informationen bereithalten. Wir haben uns sicher eine Stunde mit dem "Herrn des Hauses" unterhalten, der ein sehr gebildeter Mann ist und als Professor an der lokalen Universität unterrichtet. Allein durch die Informationen der Familie haben wir unseren Aufenthalt in Valdivia perfekt planen und umsetzen können.

Das Hostel liegt sehr schön in Mitten der Natur, umgeben von Wald und die entfernten Nachbarn haben ebenfalls große Gärten, weshalb man andere Häuser quasi nicht sieht. Das fürht dann aber auch dazu, dass nur eine unbefestigte Straße zum Hostel führt und das Haus äußerst schwierig zu finden ist. Es wäre uns in der Nacht ohne die Hilfe der Eigentümerin nicht gelungen. Sie ruft jeden Gast vorher an und man sollte die Hilfestellung definitiv annehmen.
