Hostel had an awesome vibe, really comfortable and warm, well set up to send you on your way for hiking (cheap gear hire, planning room with maps etc), excellent communal spaces, large kitchen.
Breakfast was sub-par, but for the price, you can't complain. The only real issue was that the owner wasn't around much, gave us a little grief one time when we needed to use a locker. Still highly recommended overall, a bit of careful planning would have made it a non-issue.
the owner Juan is great and very helpful, the place is a bit out of the center and super quiet. The rooms are very basic but good value for the money and always warm. There is no breakfast included but you get a free yoghurt every morning plus coffee or tea.
the rooms are very basic but value for money. good big equipped kitchen
the heating in the rooms didn´t work most of the time and we had to ask several times to fix it breakfast is very poor
Perfect if you are going to Torres Del Paine. You can leave your bags there in lockers and hire equipment if you need it. Juan is really easy going and even though we came a day late due to the Navimag ferry being delayed he didn't charge us for the night where he'd essentially lost $30 from an empty room. He gave us firewood to use in the BBQ and kept the fire topped up with wood on the cold nights. Rooms were comfy though oddly had no real curtains. The common area is massive with a big TV (Juan loves Real Madrid), tables and couches. There's WiFi and a computer to use for all your photo uploading and saving. Breakfast was very basic but the yoghurts were really nice so that's fine with us! Dinner tip: Mesita grande is a very nice warm pizza and pasta restaurant with a stone pizza oven and home made pasta. We ended up going there three times in four nights!
Quite far from the main bus station but everything is. Taxis are only 1000 Chilean so no biggie. Juan can go missing on occasion so if you know you'll need him for something then let him know in advance or do it when he's around.
Very helpful staff - explaining everything you need to go the W or day hikes. Helps booking tours if wanted. Good location (10min walk from the bus terminal, 15min walk to supermarket & restaurants).
Central heating is switched off during the night so you get up in cold rooms... Kitchen is quite poorly equipped and only 1 stove available. Rooms are very tiny if you have a lot of luggage.
Amazing hostel! The owner Juan is an amzing guy and will help you to organise your expedition to torres del paine at a very cheap price. I also rent all the equipement. I really recommend it.
Even it is not in the city center a 10 minute walk doesn't make any sence. Good atmospgere, warm- it is my first necessity in Patagonia ( I am from Siberia, Rusia), so if you need an overnight stay, it is a nice place.
Thin walls, but we know the price, it is just a comment, everything is fine
New place, all in good condition. Owner is very nice and helpfull
The owner isn't there all the time so we had to wait for 45 minutes for somebody to show up. At 4 pm the room wasn't ready. A bit far from the bus station.
Tiny rooms, very poorly constructed.
Friendly staff Really good value for money Private rooms, private bathrooms Big kitchen
A little bit furher away from the busterminal, but taxi is cheap
large kitchen, living room and reception area. owner spoke english well. good refrigerator storage area. comfortable tables for meals. location is very close to pier for serrano glacier trip.
no table next to bed for my room. room small. some rooms do have table next to beds though.
Many thanks to Juan! His efforts converted the rustic building into a real gem for trackers. You will find no luxury here, but everything what you need before and after the track: warm rooms, spacious kitchen, equipment rent, common space with heating where you can dry your clothes or communicate to others. Juan is ready to provide you with a lot of information about Puerto Natales and Torres del Paine.
simple rooms, but all you need and clean. Excellent budget option.
the rooms are a little small (but its an excellent budget option)
Great hostel, the owner Juan speaks good english and is really nice. The double rooms are very basic and small, but sufficient, with a private bathroom. Great and big living room and kitchen. Recommended !
Shoddy construction. Uncomfortable furniture. Staff not available some times each day. Windows that didn't open. Tiny rooms.
Staff were superb.
Thin walls. Small room. But value for money. Excellent.
The construction of this place is very suspect. I also find that all the great reviews of this place a tad puzzling. For one night it's okay for the price. For a longer stay I would look elsewhere.
The owner was very helpful with tips about the torres del paine. Free yoghurt and tea
every helpful owner who gave a lot of information about national park. also he has lot of equipment to rent. rooms are ok, good value for money
thin walls and loud beds
Good spacious kitchen with good utensils. Large, open, warm sitting areas. Friendly, relaxed host.
It was kind of cheap, 5000CLP for a dorm bed, 16000CLP for a double room.
Sadly, almost everything else... the person in charge is not there when we need him, he sleeps next door and we must wait for him to wake up at 11am. He makes rude remarks about peoples nationalities. The dorm is terrible, there are 2 showers for 15 beds, both of them are in the ladies bathroom and have no curtains.
Nice host, very helping.
far from the center and bus terminal.
Spacy kitchen, big communal spaces, relatively clean
Owner's got an attitude Heating very poor Shower water mildly warm not enough for a pleasant shower Loud music untill late at night
the staff is friendly and easy going, makes you feel relaxed and comfortable a lot of space in social room fireplace
little space in bedroom and bathroom (but compensated by social room)
Juan is great, he makes sure everyone is happy and gets what they need. The spaces are spacious. The place is practical. Lockers were big and free. Motorcycle parking was off road dry and free. Hike rental equipment was good and covienient.
Room 1 had no ventilation and whilst many like to roast when sleeping, I don't. Juan moved me into a ventilated room the following night.
