We liked just about everything! And the restaurant was pretty good too!

Unique hotel in good location and great view from the restaurant's balcony. Helpful and friendly staff.

Very large and modern rooms, a great view from the terrace where we had all breakfasts plus a dinner. Very friendly staff and a lot of cultural stuff happening at the hotel - concerts, radio shows being broadcasted from it etc. All in all - a really cool and relaxed hotel which I would love to return to.

The wifi was a bit shaky. Sometimes it didn't work at all, other times it was just slow.

Loved the decor... it is all made of refurbished or recycled materials. Had a really cool, old vibe to the place.

It is probably more for younger folks. Did feel a bit like a hostal.

We had a very warm welcome at the Fauna hotel. You enter at the top of the hotel where there's a reception/café/lounge leading on to a sunny roof top terrace with views of Valpo and the bay below. The hotel is a stylish mix of natural wood clad walls, exposed concrete where it clings to the hill-side and painted rough plaster. The rooms are all down below the top floor and ours was 2 flights down. We chose a standard room on the hill side which was lit by a large window from a light well. We felt cocooned here but others may feel it's dark. Our bed was big and comfortable (for us that meant medium/soft) with crisp fresh white bedding. The bathroom painted pure brilliant white with slate floor and monsoon shower did what it should. The WiFi worked very well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our three Nights at Fauna. Those who are sensitive to noise may prefer to stay elsewhere as you can hear heavy footed guests in the rooms above and sometimes the distant sounds of music, chat and good times from the café/bar above.

The room was extremely comfortable, well sized and with a fantastic view over Valparaiso. The design with exposed adobe walls was also very stylish. The staff were very friendly and we also ate in their cafe restaurant on two occasions, lunch and dinner and both were very good. The quirky decor was fun and on the right side of line.

On our last night we were disturbed by a group of teenagers sitting outside the hotel at around 4am having loud conversations and drinking. This is not something the Fauna was responsible for but perhaps double glazing would have reduced the impact.

its location and very good restaurant and one very helpful member of staff in the whole building he is practical and helpful and even got an outside number so we could call a cab to get to hospital he deserves so praise

its generally miserable staff except one who was very helpful. my girlfriend became ill during our stay- the hotel lacked a working telephone and from that location mobile calls were impossible- we were in a emergency room for around 7 hrs because she had high blood pressure, the hotel lacked any empathy or helpfulness in this situation. they said they had made an error in payment on the day we asked to check and move to a hotel with a working telephone internet and air con- as my girlfriend had needed a cardiology specialist to asses her before we could leave the ER at hospital- the receptionist argued about cancellation for an hour before saying he would give it to us half price after discussing with his manager in the most patronizing of tones. Then called us up to say we had not cancelled the booking and even phoned us at are next hotel after are 12 hour ordeal with casualty. They sent threatening e mail and took a payment for the full amount after saying the would agree to half the price. They made a forced payment from my bank account without permission after getting a signature to the amount the promised avoid at all costs, they are liars and incompetent and less that helpful in difficult situations my girlfriend is seeing many specialist doctors and i am considering writing a letter on her behalf to shame them into taking some honest action. Unreliable untrustworthy and they sent threatening e mails before i could confirm what the amount was that they withdrew , they may have a swipe machine that shows you a number on the receipt and displays another. They lied and cant keep there word only stay for the minimum of time and go to there cafe and dont risk a night there, the food is excellent and cheap

Beautiful boutique hotel, very helpful and knowledgeable staff, great food, perfect service. Very convenient location on a quiet pedestrian street at the top of Ascensor Reina Victoria, easy to find and perfect location for exploring Cerro Alegre and Concepcion.

Top room (no 6) can be noisy due to kitchen, stairs and walkway.

This was a beautiful hotel with a great location. There is a hip vibe, but I brought my parents and they were fine with it too. There is a terrace on the restaurant with great views of the ocean and the city, the rooms were clean and creative, with big comfy beds. The breakfast was included, had great coffee and was a great spread. The owners were around a lot and showed us pictures of how much work they had put into renovating the building. I would definitely stay here again.

If you are a light sleeper, request a room that does not face the street.

Great place to stay, the staff are very welcoming and the hotel was comfortable and in a great location.

Locaton was ok for a visit to the old city of Valpariso

Spent two hours looking forthe hotel. There were no directions given. Even Google Maps and Google Earth did not help. Hotel is on a ally off a street that was under construction and closed. The hotel should be advising guests of this issue. The hotel is just at the top of an Ascensor. Yo would think that would be a great way to tell guests where it is. I asked at least a dozen local people including local stores about the location (in Spanish) and none know of it.

Fauna hotel is a really unique hotel in a great location in Chile. Plenty of great restaurants and Cafe's nearby. The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

Fauna is a very artsy boutique hotel and provides us with a fabulous view of the sea, port & the city of Valparaiso. The hotel provided us with personalized service. The hotel has a good vibe and atmosphere.

Hotel facilities are basic and Breakfast is quite simple.

Hotel was nicely located in the bohemian area of the city. Nice place to use as a base to visit the city.

L'acceuil est trés sympathique, le patron parle parfaitement Français. L'emplacement est excellent avec une vue superbe. Le style de la chambre, trés contemporain est agréable. Restaurant et bar à l'étage

Chambre sans aucune vue, humide (draps humides). Lié certainement au fait que les chambres "standard", sans vue sont en fait sous le batiment, avec ventilation insuffisante.

Es un hotel pequeño, bien ubicado y con excelente atención, aunque no tiene mayores dependencias, no es necesario ya que el objetivo es conocer Valparaiso.

A proposta do hotel é bem diferente. Tem uma pegada despretensiosa, cool, com objetos que parecem ter saído de um algum antiquário, mas de gosto duvidoso. As coisas não são aquelas antigas, mas bem conservadas, são velhas, gastas, mesmo! A sensação é que queriam fazer algo mais alternativo, mas que acabou passando uma imagem de descuido. No entanto, isso não compromete a qualidade do serviço. A localização é excelente! No alto do Cerro Alegre, cheio de restaurantes e casinhas coloridas e simpáticas. A vista é bem bonita. Em cima do hotel funciona um restaurante que tem uma comida ótima e eles propõem uma programação com música ao vivo em alguns dias da semana. Comemos um reineta, peixe típico de lá, maravilhoso. O café é servido lá também. é simples, mas bem gostoso. A equipe é bem atenciosa.

Achamos o preço caro para o que eles propõem. Ficamos em hotéis bem melhores em Santiago e em Buenos Aires nessa mesma viagem e os dois foram mais baratos que esse. O nosso quarto, o 6, fica exatamente embaixo da cozinha, então o barulho é enorme. A vantagem é que eles não servem até tarde da noite, mas se você dorme cedo ou quer descansar a tarde, peça outro quarto. Além disso, falta muita coisa pro quarto ser confortável. Não tem televisão, nem ar condicionado (a noite é mais fresco), não tem armário para pendurar as roupas e a iluminação é bem fraca.

Adorei muito o hotel, os funcionarios estao de parabens, o quarto em que ficamos era muito silencioso, e muito bonito, em um lado rochas encrostradas na parede. é um hotel botique mesmo. E como disse ao gerente recomendo nao apenas a usuarios do booking, mas a todos meus amigos, um dos melhores hoteis que escolhemos no chile. Aproveito pra falar muito bem do cheff - comida excelente. E a cerveja artesanal. Se estiver lah aproveita e manda ver....

Den underbara omtanken från färgsammansättningar och dekorationer i rummen till personalens omsorgsfullt tillagade frukost. Vi fick vara med om en bokrelease och en liten jazzorkesgter. 57 trappsteg upp till receptionen kräver dock sin kvinna.

Frukosten kunde ha serverats något snabbare.

Son emplacement au coeur de la ville touristique et dans un quartier historique. Sa décoration New Age avec des matériaux anciens dans une construction moderne. L'acceuil et le service est effectué par les propriétaires qui parlent Français. Le Restaurant / Bar est très agréable, je recommande la dégustation des vins Chiliens. Le petit déjeuner est simple mais de très bonne qualité avec des variations chaque jour.
