Score from 189 reviews Good
Good dark rooms easy to get plenty of sleep in.
Breakfast often ran out of stuff.
Location next to Los Heroes bus station and close to the city center Not too expensive Clean
Hostel getting old: some windows don't really shut or with scello tape Not all staff spoke English They lock the guests inside (we had to get up at 6 to take the bus and had to jump a fence to be able to get out!)
The location is good. Liz was fantastic. She gave us so many tips and tricks about Santiago. Good atmosphere in the hostel. I would stay here again. For the standard in South-Amerika I think it is good value for money.
Wifi could be a bit wonky
-cheap -good location
-dirty bedsheets -dirty bathroom with hairs all over toilet and sink
Heating!!! This is not to be taken for granted in Chilean winter. Nice atmosphere, comfy beds. Complimentary towel, good breakfast.
Not enough bathrooms, no key (there are lockers, though).
Staff was polite. Rooms and bed are very comfortable. Near the metro station "Los Heroes" and the bus terminal to the airport.
There aren't many food on breakfast and location are not so good, far from the best nightlife neighborhoods in Santiago
The location in Barrio Brasil is an easy walk from the main sites/metro station and bus stop from the airport. Despite warnings I didn't feel any worries about walking around the area in the daytime. Lively atmosphere in evenings. Interesting architecture.
Was disappointing as from my point of view as an experienced and tolerant/un-fussy traveler this really didn't live up to the reviews I had read. Very variable staff, some reasonably friendly and helpful, others bordering on the rude. Room was't exceptionally clean, dirty and dusty carpet, stains on sheets etc. Despite it being promised no housekeeping at all. Breakfast variable and often run out. Had someone let themselves into my room whilst I was sleeping, so quite concerning with regards to security. Windows broken. Shower and toilet temperamental. Very noisy (didn't bother me too much but for some people this would have been bad). I have stayed in many hostels/hotels and whilst it wasn't terrible the overall experience was pretty dismal.
A beautiful hostel with real character. Very close to the centre.
It could be very noisy at times and not being able to use the hostel kitchen after 5pm did get annoying.
Everything! Nice big bunk beds in the dorms, clean, great location - close to subway and restaurants nearby. Very helpful staff and great brekky! Excellent value for money...the best hostel we have stayed in so far!
Friendly staff. Close to good restaurants & bars.
A bit noisy at night from the street, which was surprising as it seemed like a quiet street in general. The sheets were not awesome, and slipped off the bed whenever you moved a little.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Enjoyed it!
It's forbidden to use the kitchen at night, because the kitchen is used for the service of guests that come to eat.
Good value for money, simple but comfortable room, very clean and quiet with kitchen facilities to cook.
Nice staff, location near citycentre, friendly atmosphere, good beds
Nice people, clean and nice room and kitchen.
Very nice and helpful staff, good location of the hostel and HOT showers! We would stay here again!
style, atmosphere suited me.
the squeaking floor when walked did bother me, and probably others too, when a guy was walking around till 4am. there should be rule - in the rooms you should sleep after eg. 10pm, chatting should be done in common areas.
We are a young couple, we stayed only one night and we remained happy of this hostel. The room was clean as well as the bathroom, good beds and very good shower with hot water. The hostel is quite and near the metro.
The breakfast was not great, but anyway it was ok. I recommended the hostel!
My experience at the Landay Hostel was absolutely great. The staff is friendly and caring and the rooms are comfortable. The atmosphere makes you feel at home, peacefull and fun at the same time. One of the best places to stay at the Santiago center area
Breakfast is very good, staffs are very good. it is close to the subway but its not so close to the center of the city. Staffs support us in every doubt about city and tours.
I dont know why the keys of the room cannot stay with us all time. every time we had to ring the bell in front of the hostel.
It is cozy with a friendly ambiance. It makes you feel at home and Mark and Camilla are really nice and helpful.
We liked our stay very much - the owner was very supportive, nice and caring. Everything was very clean and rooms/bathroom renovated. The beds were new and comfortable. With respect to the low price, we highly recommend this hostel to everyone.
