Staff was awesome and very helpful with maps and places to visit! Very friendly place to stay. Top floor has a wonderful view plus place to gather. Try the Espritu Santo restaurant across the street - excellent food. T
Our two rooms were small but we opted for this due to budget.
Lovely modern hotel done in a older style with lots of nice features. Chap who booked us in was excellent in that he gave us a map and told us a good walking route with plenty of interest. At least one of the pillows seemed to be stuffed with feathers, a real treat.
Wifi was very poor with little or no reception in the room. It worked fine if you went downstairs and sat next to the hub.
The views from our penthouse were great, with similar views from the common area where breakfast was served. The hotel is very funky with lots of artworks. The location is great with a 10 minute walk downhill to the city centre and to come back you can take the funicular, with a small climb.
the shower was very temperamental in the top room with us having to wait for 10 minutes before it got hot. My wife had to go in straight after because if you turned the tap off, you had to go through the same process again.
Sergio was amazing! He dedicated a lot of time making sure we understood the city and some "not to miss" spots. The hotel is amazing overall and is in a great location!
Friendly helpful staff and outstanding panoramic view of beautiful Valpo from terrace. Thank you for the very early wake up call, breakfast and ride to the airport. Mil Gracias por todo.
We could have used a little more room for suitcase placement.
Very Comfy beds. Clean! !! Well fitted out. Lovely huge top floor with 360d views for breakfast, afternoon drinks, star gazing, Harbour views. Sergio very helpful. Yummy breakfast made by lovely lady. Quirky hotel design. Perhaps an old Spanish mansion. Interesting. Can use the bar or buy wine and beer just down the road. In amazing area near one of the funicular. Use this rather than the steps at night.
Extremely steep roads approaching. Ferrari St scary in our gutless hire car. Geography of town frightening to we Aussies.
Great views over Valparaiso and Viña del Mar. Comfy bedroom. Good breakfast. Excellent services. Helpful staff.
Poor WiFi. The locking of doors must be improved.
The location was reasonably easy to find, and a pleasant balance between being close to action, and being out-of-the way. The small room we booked turned out actually to be a small suite with entryway, and extra twin day-bed. The bed was extremely cozy, and the immense windows, opening onto a beautiful street view, were gorgeous. The quirky, quaint decor was both unique and tasteful, and the high ceilings and wood-heavy finishes very classy. The breakfast area/lounge was absolutely stunning, with nearly 360 degree views on the town, hillsides, and port. Though we were alone in the hotel when we stayed, staff were extremely courteous, helpful, and friendly. We were truly amazed at the value, and would heartily recommend it to anyone.
There was nothing wrong that we didn't already expect. Old-style single-pane windows don't keep out sound very well, so what street noise there was (not a huge amount) was very audible. Likewise, they don't keep in heat well, so despite an area heater, it was a wee bit chill, though underneath the plush down comforter, still plenty cozy. We were told it would take a few minutes to get hot water, and both of us were impatient enough to simply skip it for our one-night stay.
Nicely done and very relaxing and quiet with a charm.
Very nice and helpful staff Good breakfast Nice terrace with a good view on the sea Good location
The rooms were a little bit small
...except not enough hot water for showers
At first doesn't look like much, but once inside the hotel as a whole was great. The terrace view of the city and port is awesome. Would recommend this hotel to anyone interested in Valparaiso.
Front room a little noisy due to being by the street. Although didn't bother me much.
The view from the top floor is 360 degree over the city, - just marvelous; good starting point to explore the city by foot; opposite is a very recommendable fish restaurant
This place has SO much charm and it is really unique. We got a suite at the top. The view was unbeatable. Bed comfy, blankets, window walls. We liked the location too...away from the noise of trendy nightlife but close enough to everything. We were very happy with out choice staying here. We got a lot of tips from the staff like that we could walk down to the flat center via some stair that looked frankly dangerous but were not...just different to us and also how to take the local collectivo cabs home...so easy (number 39 at the station...) Wonderful...also the restaurant across the street Espiritu Santo rocks!!! It is a little away from the buzz (which we liked) but cabs are very cheap in Valpo and staff is readily available 24/7 to call one for you. We would def stay again. Suite recommended ...worth it!
The hot water situation was a little iffy but the staff was sooo good about it even letting us one day shower in another unoccupied room...I'm not sure if this is there fault...Valpo is hilly, hilly and I think off/on plumbing may affect many establishments...that's the only complaint...BUT EVEN SO, we would actually stay here again (even w/ a cold shower)...it was SOOO NICCEEE!
Rooms, View and Staff all excellent, local restaurants great value and easy reach of main shopping
There are no negatives
After being in a rental apartment in Santiago, we were so comfortable at the hotel. It was nice to have breakfast on the rooftop before we started our daily adventures. The staff was so helpful, whether for nearby restaurants or helping with luggage up the stairs. A charming place for our stay in Valpo!
Wonderful location halfway up one of Valparaiso's 49 hills. View from the terrace well worth the climb. Breakfasts were well above average.
Hot water supply was iffy, especially on the higher floors.
The hotel was beautiful. Our room had a milllion dollar view as did the breakfast room. The staff was wonderful especially Sergio who speaks excellent English. It was close to wonderful restaurants!
There wasn't anything not to like
Excellent value for money. They offered us an upgrade at a very reasonable Price.
We had a suite in the last floor with a panoramic view. Somehow that makes up for everything else. Getting up in the morning or having a wine in the early evening before that amazing view is just a privilege. The room decoration was superb, with the bed on a higher level and a very comfortable sofa. Some staff members were really nice and diligent. A magic "valparaisian" atmosphere reigned over the whole of the hotel. Last night we had dinner in the restaurant across the street: delicious!!
From a practical point of view the hotel is not that perfect. Two guys from the staff were not really helpful. We told one of them that on our last day we were leaving the hotel early and we arranged for an early breakfast and calling a taxi; he forgot to pass the instruction to the next shift and we ended up having a quick breakfast and storming out of the hotel. Hot water in the bathroom takes more than five minutes to start and its behaviour is rather unpredictable. No safe box or refrigerator in the room. Breakfasts was average, with cold scrambled eggs, cheese and ham. The first day there was some avocado mash that was very nice but we did not get to see it the next days. The kids helping at breakfast were very sweet but they had no clue about waiting tables.
Beautiful B & B, very helpful and attentive staff, easy walking to the downtown Valparaiso area. We would definitely stay here if we are ever in the area again.
I really enjoyed the views from the hotel and the people are really helpfull and kind. The hotel is really well decorated and really attonishing the views from there. I would really recommend this place for other visitors.
There was some problem with the hot water in the shower and the room even if was very nice was a bit too small.
