I chose Puerto Natales because it has an airport close to Torres del Paine.
I did four excursions to view the outdoor beauty of southern Chile.
I walked to the bus station to acquire information ... I was pleasantly surprised that a bus can take me futher south, near the tip of South Amarica.

Puerto Natales is a very cool town.
Puerto Natales is a very cool town. We stayed in the park for 2-3 nights and in Puerto Natales for 1 prior to a flight early in the AM. We enjoyed walking through town and had EXCELLENT food at La Disqueria!! It seemed like there were MANY options to stay in PN and travel into TDP - which would be much more cost-efficient than staying in the park! A great city!

There isn’t a whole lot to do in the town itself, you can probably see everything in one day, and the weather is unpredictable even in the summer. It’s walkable and there are some cool shops and restaurants that largely cater to tourists. Most people come here because they are going to hike or tour Torres Del Paine, to see the glaciers, or both, and they don’t want to spend $500 USD or more per night to stay in the park. Figure out how many excursions you want to do, and give yourself an extra day to check out the town.

Puerto Natales is an easily navigated small town and a good jumping off point for tours and trips to Torres del Paine, one of Chile's most famous national parks and hiking trails, as well as for catamaran tours to see the glaciers. The town is equipped with a number of good restaurants, outdoor/sports stores and supermarkets, making it a good place to stop before and/or after excursions. It has a beautiful waterfront. It is cool year round, cold in the winter, keep in mind this region of Chile includes Antarctica so you should always be prepared for wind and cold, although we did have a few relatively warm afternoons.

This is a launching point for treks, adventure hikes, wilderness kayaking trips, etc. During the season, it's crowded with tourists in transit and usually here just for a night or two as they embark or return from an excursion to nearby Torres del Paine, or other areas of nature to explore. It feels like the bulk of the restaurants, shops and stores therefore cater to the needs of monied tourists and so it's expensive.

This is one of the best little towns that most people have never thought to visit. It has a great vibe, a wide variety of places to eat, and the streets are clean. It is a good launching point for exploring Patagonia.
Javier was the perfect host and they thought of everything with this lovely cabin!! When my bus was late and my taxi was cancelled, he picked me up himself and drove me to the cabin! It was such a relaxing and peaceful place to rest and recoup after a long travel! The soaking tub is amazing!! The view is fantastic! And there was also a great selection of some food items that I enjoyed! Best place to stay in Puerto Natales if you're headed for Torres del Paine!! Thanks so much!!
Perfect place for our quick stop in Puerto Natales. Being a small family with a 3 year old, the place provided us with all the comforts we needed. Bonus points for the complimentary breakfast, much better than we expected. All the staff was helpful and super friendly. We left a pair of shoes and they had them for us upon our return (3 days later). Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay. Parking on site!
The location is very good. It nears the bus terminal, which is important if you go to Puerto Natales for the Torre del Paine National Park. Within 5 minutes distance one can find good cafes and restaurants, 10 minutes to the downtown and the sea. The reception people are very friendly and helpful. They provide big locker for at least two backpack size with reasonable fee. Also they offer walking poles to borrow (for free)!
This was a great apartment for our stay in puerto natales, we stayed both before and after completing the o trek. We really liked the facilities, space and location - the kitchen so we could cook, the washing machine so we could clean our gear, and the large kitchen/diner area separate from the bedroom. The location is also great, really close to the bus station but also walking distance to the high street
The location was wonderful, easily in walking distances around the town and waterfront. The view was magical and the room was incredibly spacious. The hosts were very responsive and helpful despite us speaking little to no Spanish. It's an incredible value and great place to stay, we loved Puerto Natales, and would recommend staying here to anyone!
I loved staying here before and after the W Trek. The owner and staff are super helpful and kind. They make the best coffee in Puerto Natales (maybe the best in Patagonia). The beds are so comfortable and the location is quiet so you can get great sleep. Nice 10 min walk to city center. I recommend to any type of traveler.
The owner, Daniel, is a lovely guy, with good English, and very helpful. He is clearly keen on DIY and building and I get the feeling he has constructed much of the property and furnishings himself. The location is near to the bus station and close to town. It is one of the least-expensive hostels in town.
Great vibes, very quiet, extraordinary friendly staff, a well-equipped kitchen and cozy common area makes this the perfect hostel to stay in when you’re in Puerto Natales. Both the double room and the dorm we stayed in were comfortable, large enough and created with attention to detail.
This hotel was a nice surprise. We had been staying in other hotels in Puerto Natales, and chose the Hacienda Dorotea because, this time, the others were sold out, and wished we had found this gem sooner. Not to mention that this brand new hotel has a great history behind.
It was my favourite of all my accomodations in Chile. A cozy, colourful place. Good breakfast! It was a pity that no room was available when I came to Puerto Natales a third time :)
10-15 minutes walk from the bus terminal.
Great value for money in Puerto Natales. The rooms are clean and relatively large. There is a nice kitchen and the people are really friendly and helpful. Also great that you can store your luggage during the W trek.
Very friendly and helpful owner. Pragmatic place to stay for a short time in puerto natales. Possibility to leave baggage for a few days when hiking in Torres del Paine. Very clean!
Close to shops and restaurants.
The architecture of the hotel is exceptional and takes full benefit of the view the location has on the bay of Puerto Natales. The rooms are nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay in this nice little hotel.
The hostel is very close to the center and a 15min walk to the bus terminal. It is great to explore Puerto Natales. The rooms are very clean wirh goid showers and the owners are verd nice.
Staff was amazingly nice. Also the bed and the building was so nice. Location is good, could be better but still good. When I m back in Puerto Natales, I am going to stay here again.
Very friendly and personal hostess Patricia makes you feel at home. Super clean and comfortable. Great location along the road near Puerto Natales if you have a car.
* Central location in Puerto Natales
* Breakfast started already from 6:00 AM; I liked the way it was served
* I am very thankful for the laundry service
