The Dragon King Hostel is ideally in the heart of Beijing, a 5-minute walk from line 5 Zhangzizhong Road subway station. Housed in a historic Beijing courtyard, it provides free Mandarin lessons.
Score from 1065 reviews Very good

Personell very helpfull and anviroment worm and pleasent. Breackfast (also if not included) very good.
The total lack of any place to hang yuor robes and anything else
Shopping all over and a huge supermarket 5 minutes walk from hotel will go again
English speaking staff. Comfortable cafe area. Close to metro.
I wanted to stay longer than my booking but staff said I had to leave. It was cold outside and heating wasn't adequate.
Very good location (2 subway stations, shops, supermarket, restaaurants / bars, banks - nearby, ca. 30 minutes walk to Forbidden City. Very kind and helpful reception team. Representative of a travel agency every day at the reception. Reasonable price / quality relation . Rooms: cleaned every day.
The street at which the hotel is located - Lishi Hutong - typical for the Bejing hutongs, that is not very inviting. The same for the outside look of the hotel, at least for European standards. The hotel slowly needs some renovation. The cafe windows could be cleaned a bit more often.
Location only few minutes walk from Dongsi Station. Very helpful staffs especially the girls in the reception, they can speak english and can give you directions. Facilities are good enough to rest after waking around Beijing all day. Alot of restaurants nearby (though we do not have chance to try it), minimarket, supermarket, and shops nearby as well. For moslem, there's a Dongsi mosque just across the street and few minutes walk. Would recommend this hotel.
Suggestions to have something to work on the stairs in the lobby, it's a bit difficult to go up especially if you had big luggluggage
Lady at receptionist extremely helpful with what we asked. She did extra miles to call the shop when we asked if we can exchange some stuff that we bought.
Room is too small for 3 person with luggages
Very helpful English speaking staff. Comfortable room and bathroom. Helpful tour desk staff. Relaxed feel in the lobby and cafe area gave a nice vibe.
No restaurant facilities.
Located strategically at Lishi Hutong, near exit C Dongsi subway station. Spacious and comfortable room with decent amenities. Friendly and helpful staffs. There's a cafe for chit-chat and they provide tours to Beijing famous landmarks for hotel guests.
good location (even if some taxi driver do not know it). staff kindness. price
weak wifi connection
The staff is very friendly and helpful, they all speak english quite well. The location is not far from the Forbidden city, in a typical old chinese well kept borough, 3 minutes walking distance from the metro
Ex-post, the price is quite high compared to what you can find in China on the local site and apps. Rooms are quite small.
All in 161 hotel is ok, location, food, subway is very near. Exit C of Dongsi station turn left , walk straight ,2nd street left to Lishi Hutong.. All the staff is very friendly, eventhough the hotel dont have a lift its not an issue bec. Someone will carry your luggage..
Pc in room. (See also below). Inhouse tour operator. Firm bed and good A/C in room.
Low hot water pressure, wifi access for only one device. PC not usable for foreigners due to Chinese settings. Tip, Bring your own toilet paper.
Location Cleanless Common Areas
Common areas were closed early
The most important advantage is that staffs are speaking very good in English and very helpful. I enjoyed stay there. Jamal Bangladesh
good location - few min walk form metro and right near it many food options. good wifi, clean and very good price to what you get.
It doesn't pretend to be - so can't say its even a "minus" - but it is a hotel - not a "hutong" courtyard hotel/rooms with a historic charm / romantic atmosphere etc...yet its price, location, cleanness etc make it a good deal.
The staff was extremely accommodating with every detail. They wrote (in Chinese) our requests regarding train or bus travel, and we were able to call them at any point for on-the-spot "translation" service when we got into a bind! They were just incredible. The location is also excellent, in a small hutong with plenty of places to eat, some with English menus and some without. It is close walking distance to the subway, and about a 20-30 minute walk to the Forbidden city.
The basement rooms are kind of musty, but using air conditioning eliminates this. If you have allergies, request a room upstairs.
We returned after a trip to Xi'an/Pingyao/Datong and our stay was just a good as the first. We were able to leave our bags whilst away safely with no charge.
Basement rooms a little dark and musty.
There was no water to drink or tea or anything else in the rooms. The coffee shop does not open before 7 and so if you have an early start they expect you to go elsewhere for drinking water.
Staff are excellent, go out of their way to help you. Little coffee shop in the hotel serves the best coffee and croissants. Free wifi in the rooms. Location was excellent for walking around Beijing.
Mouse in our room overnight, we caught it ourselves in the end. (Don't think this happens often however as the staff were as shocked as we were)
Great location for local sight seeing. Local underground outstanding, £0.20 anywhere in Beijing. Tour rep in hotel at very reasonable prices.
Room slightly small.
Location was down an alley like road, and seemed like a questionable part of town. Told us it was 10 minute walk to Forbidden City and was more like 40
Run down, staff had little English but were pleasant. Ok for the price
Helpfull staff, OK bed, 5 minutes of walk to Dongsi subway. Good location.
Room in the basement with small window to some local Chinese family yard... Poor wifi speed.
Great location close to the metro. Very reasonably priced. Secure, however a safe in the room would add to this.
The bathroom was small and at times smelt bad. Also some storage space in the room would be good as there's no where to leave your bag bar the small floor space near the bed.
Close to transport on the subway, great local breakfast next door, friendly and helpful staff, value for money.
Basement rooms were a little dark and plumbing had a slight smell.
