Unique and charming in its old-fashioned way. Could be great for a very short stay. Large rooms. Good choice for a budget hotel. Definitively not a 4-star hotel. There were two things that made us change hotels during our stay: 1. Humidity: nothing dried in the room, on the contrary, dry clothes got wet in the luggage... No wonder there is mould in the bathroom. 2. Ongoing works in the neighbourhood and especially on the Bund, inaccessible. When finished (for the expo), it will certainly be great but in the meanwhile I would certainly opt for another area. This, of course, is by no means the hotel's fault. |

I love this hotel, yes it is a little faded in places, like a beautiful old woman who has led an exciting life. The elegant proportions of the rooms and bathrooms, the large windows that can be opened and the wonderful old teak floor in the rooms and upper floors more than compensated. The position of the hotel, the service and the English of the staff were also excellent. Breakfast was good, lots of choice. I found this the perfect antidote to an earlier stay this month in a luxurious modern five star, it felt more like home, "Europe". Both my husband and I enjoyed good strong showers with plenty of hot water. The beds were comfortable with tasteful white sheets and duvets. The curtains and seat covers needed ironing, it needed some redecoration although I found everything in perfect working order. I would love to very conservatively redecorate it, but then it would move into a higher price bracket, all in all very good value. |

Good location , nice view on the bund and river from the 6th floor Hot water is a rare thing use, you may need some aptience under the shower |

больше всего понравилось месторасположения отеля его дизайн и фрукты в номере в номере где я жил неплохо было бы установить окна по толще , чтоб была меньше слышимость улицы. |

We hebben tijdens ons verblijf in Shanghai bewust gekozen voor iets meer luxe. Het Astor heeft dat absoluut waargemaakt. Grote kamers, perfecte service en een fantansische ontbijtzaal. Echt genieten voor een prima prijs (intenet reservering) |
