The design of the hotel is nice, the location in the middle of a Hutong is very nice, and the reception staff is very friendly, the room is well heated
the staff in the breakfast or around the elevators is quite clumsy, the breakfast is simple
no wardrobe and wifi week
The location is great!
The building works happening inside the hotel during our star were kicking off very early in the morning preventing us from sleeping. The room was not tidy at all, loads of dust and cobwebs, not worth the money paid.
pretty good good sleep cleanness traditional beautiful style
it is cold in the hotel
- nice place, near street with shops but be careful as prices were preapred for tourists, couple streets and the same things can be bought with lower price
- quite bad internet connection (once working, once not) - reception hardly speak English but this is nothing new in China, so you should be prepared with basic Chinise words - thin walls so it was easy to wake up in the night when other people did check-out or check-in
Surrounding area is interesting with plenty of restaurants close by and Houhai restaurants about 15 min walk, hole-in-the-wall bottle shop outside front door selling Aussie wine for less than $20, big rooms, easy communication with staff at desk (only), Starbucks is just around the corner if you are desperate for a $7 coffee!
Need taxi or 107 bus to subway, but this is pretty simple once you have done it once. Renovations in progress so some noise and dust. Breakfast is a bit of a challenge, but we got used to it after a few days.
The room was dirty at arrival. Dust in the corners and it looked like the bathroom had not been cleaned at all.
Very friendy staff, good location, near places to eat and the metro
A little bit smelly.. unless you get a good offer it is to expensive
I liked that for the first night it looked like we were in a Beijing Hotel rather than a commercial one that's replicated all around the world. There were fish in the aquarium that were just adorable. We came in late at 3 AM so they upgraded our room from a standard to a deluxe, just like that.
There is construction happening at the moment so there's cement and gravel everywhere.
-checking in staff were helpful and had good English
-Wifi terrible -Room was not clean -Door panel almost came off when I opened it -carpet was dirty -mosquitos -room was damp -no place to hang clothes -no security deposit box -building works wakes you up VERY early in the morning -room had papered up windows... so no view..
The room is quite and has a little kitchen
no working wifi Stinking room Bugs
Excellent location, groovy hutong. Bathroom was modern, clean and not smelly (a problem in 'traditional' and courtyard places here), and had a separate shower, although compact. Service was OK and facilities adequate. Traditional bed not too hard.
Absolutely nowhere to hang or store clothes, not a drawer, rail, hook... What do the Chinese do with their clothes? Breakfast was very poor, by any standards. Buffet must have been laid out at 7 and nothing was kept warm or refreshed, not even fresh crockery and cutlery when it ran out.
traditional Chinese interior decoration
Wifi connection in the room is poor
The Staff was terrible the breakfast was terribile old food and poor for 89 yuan. Terrible experience.
suppose to be a 四合院, but not really. some lights not working, light sensor didn't work well.
the location is good, there are many Asian type buildings and beijing hutongs around.
If you drive a car to the hotel, you will hardly to find a good way to go there..
It was close to the hutongs.
It was difficult to find. The wi-fi was spotty. There was nowhere to print anything- only a copy machine. When I asked how long laundry service would take, the girl at the front desk told me I would have it back "day after tomorrow." The walls were stained. The shower leaked, and had caulking hanging off the door. There was noisy construction going on outside. The credit card machine didn't work at first, and the girl had to swipe my card several times, resulting in my account being frozen. They asked me to pay in cash instead, and told me there would be no deposit. When I came back with cash later, the girl insisted that I pay a deposit. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told that he was sleeping, but I could come back at 8am. I told them that I was leaving for the airport at 7am and they just shrugged. For 700 yuan a night I expected something much better!
The location was great and the value for money was appropriate.
Cleanliness was average, breakfast below average and the room was nothing like the room advertised in the internet, they must have set up special rooms for the photos as we saw three, and none resembled the advertised ones. There were possibly bed bugs as we all had the itches. Help with bags was irregular and mostly non-existent. House-keeping consisted of changing bins and topping up bathroom products only. But still for a budget room, I think OK, you can't expect too much for that price.
Chinese decorations are nice
1.service is very very poor 2. rooms are still selling while the building is redecorating, the surrounding is pretty dusty and messy 3. house keeping staff threw our beer bottles that have been paid deposite without asking guests and was not able to find out proper solution for this. my comb also were thrown away just because it looks a bit similar to the comb offered by the hotel. 4. Staff serving for breakfast in the restaurant is very rude, he suddenly took away the plate from the hand of my husband while we had not finished eating and wanted to using the old plate to take more food 5. check-in and check out was totally disordered and guests could not check-in and had to wait long. 6. double rooms and twin rooms are only offered one room key. 7.managers and ordinery staff are not professional at all.
Excellent location close to street markets and wide range of restaurants.
Very poor reception staff. Little regard for checking out customers, spent 30 minutes trying to check out while receptionists spent time on phone
The staff were really helpful and the location was really good in the old area with plenty of shops and food nearby. The taxi's sometimes found it hard to find
The tour company organise through the hotel was a litte bit dodgy, but the hotel helped us fix it up and took on board our comments
The staffs in reception are really helpful and friendly. The location is very good.
The hotel is awfully noisy in daytime. There are always 3-4 staffs sitting outside of room 136 for the whole day chatting and using the wifi of 136-137. No privacy at all.
Very near interesting places. Walking back to the hotel after a whole day of tour is another tour by itself.
the location was awesome. staff is good. english speaking staff.
Very good location just off one of my favourite streets in beijing. The hotel is much as you would expect from a Chinese 3 star, but they have added some traditional decoration which makes it slightly more pleasant.
