Good location (100m from a metro), excellent price/value, some receitionists are very helpful, real Chines environment

It is somewhat outdated, therefore not perfectly clean. You get what you pay for. But really acceptable, especially to chn standards

Location-very near to subway station. Friendly staffs. Comfortable room and hotel have antique look. The hotel have lift now.

Front desk service, very efficient. Employees are nice and friendly, helpful, too. Now they do speak some English ^-^ Small markets around and open late, loca and traffic to main tourist attractions are convenient.

Wi-Fi service, I don't mind to pay for using Wi-Fi inside the room. Toilet has smell from pipe...

The best location.

I am satisfy for the general service provided by the hotel. This hotel is very cosy, price-worthy, and the breakfast is great, and received good customer service in the restaurant! A good hotel!

The value it provided for our money. Location is great for leaving to go to the great wall and other sights.

The hotel tried to charge us for a broken shoehorn, which we didn't break, so that wasn't nice. Other than that I have nothing to complain about.

Good atmosphere, friendly, helpful and smiling staff :) Internet connection ok, but socket for tripple-plugs neccessary.

Ok budgethotel

The (western)breakfast was really poor, I saw a lot of western guests, with a little bit effort it could be much better.

Really good Peking Duck in the restaurant and the staff were very helpful when booking early morning taxi to the airport.

The carpets in the whole hotel seem very old.

A very nice "Chinese" hotel. Room was large and furnished with two chairs, a foot stool and a desk. Internet connection was excellent, and free...although nothing was said about it in their "hotel" guide. The restaurant was good, prices reasonable, and the service excellent. Everyone I dealt with went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is conveniently located to the Forbidden Palace and other key sites, although it was difficult to determine exactly how to get there other than via taxi, which at times could be taxing (no pun intended)

The bed was basically a board with about an 2" pad on it and was uncomfortable. While you can't drink out of the faucet, they charge you for the bottled water, although you can walk up the street a 100 yards and buy one for 2 rmb. It would be nice if there were an atm in the lobby, but that was really no big deal.

The hotel in general was fair, the rooms and floors clean. It's a bit old, but it's good value for money. Location is very good, very close to the metro and the hutong area.

Wi-Fi not available in rooms, only in lobby and in the evenings not so strong. English in the hotel for basic conversations. I used the hotel just for sleeping, didn't book trips etc, so it was OK.

Very friendly and helpful staff, however not all of them spoke english. Cleaness over chinese average. Hygiene Items (soap, champoo, comb, bathrobe, slippers) were provided free of charge. Located closed to the subway and a lot of restaurants and shops nearby. Internet, fax and copy facilities.

The room had no windows. Breakfast not included in the room rate. We had breakfast before 9 am and practically nothing left to eat.

The location, the breakfast, the size of the room, and the bath, the internet...

They don't have smoke free areas, we ask a smoke free room but in the room there smelled cigar (even though they have no-smoking ads). The carpet was not clean.

One of the girls at the front reception desk was very discourteous. She never smile and had a mean serious look on her face. I don't know her name but she's Chinese, speaks broken English, short and very thin. I asked if I could use the computer in the business center and she said I only could use it for one minuet. She also reminded me that my reservation didn't include the complimentary breakfast without offering an option or upgrade to get one. I also asked her if I could use the computer to check in to my China Air flite but she said the computers were down so I had to use my friends ipone to check.

The location was great, very close to a subway line.

Everything was a bit dated. They really need to change out the carpeting throughout the hotel.

We loved it. Mother and I made a once-in-a-lifetime trip to China, and when selecting hotels, we wanted them to be as opposite from a Holiday Inn as you could imagine, and this hotel had the lot.....great Chinese style decor, a facinating view of real Beijing style Hutong life from our window, staff with appaling English, and a breakfast so different from anything we had ever experienced before....we loved the Spinach soup, the steamed Chinese greens and Lotus Buns. We could not have felt more " In-China" than we did when we had the wonderful luck of selecting the Ping !

If you are a Holiday Inn- type you will hate it here. Constructive criticism...? Carpets do have an expiry date dears.....!

The location is very good, just in front of a metro station!

Not very well lit, sometimes spooky.. You have to walk up and down to the restaurant for breakfast and other meals, which, by the way, closes at 9:00 P.M.!... we tried twice to eat the peking duck, without success... The second time, the chef had gone home before the restaurant has closed!.. Go to the restaurant just beside the hotel.. Very decent food, cheaper, and specialized in the roasted duck, as a beijing resident has told us!

Lovely hotel with a good breakfast with enough choice. Half a minute walk to the metro station and from here you can go to every place in Beijing for just 2 yuan (around 20 pence, uk). Very helpfull staff who want to help with taxis, bookings for trips for which they have a desk to make reservations and trying to translate everything even while their english was not very good.

Just one thing that was not so nice and that was that our room was next to the cleaners room and they were starting to make noise so early in the morning. And if they were trying to come in and you tell them that they have to wait because you want to sleep they don't really get the message.

It was nice to having a breakfast . The exterior of the hotel was traditional and beautiful. It was close to Metro.

AltoughThe hotel was in the center of the city but it was in the dead, epmty Street. You have to go at leat three blocks with metro to get to the Mall, shoping and resturant.
