Ideally located just over half a mile from the famous 700-year-old Wangfujing Street, the Prime Hotel features 5 dining options, an indoor pool and free parking.
Score from 1229 reviews Very good
Nice rooftop cafe/deck for some morning or evening tea. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
2 rooms behind front desk are very loud due to a shared street wall on one side, and the calls and front door bell of the desk constantly ringing. Bathroom also has drainage issues, which I think is endemic of the Hutongs, but still makes for a musty place to sleep.
Friendly staff who were always helpful answering tourist questions.
This hotel is a great little find, not super polished but full of character with comfortable rooms and a great ambience. The young staff never stop smiling and are brilliantly helpful...I booked based on price but the hotel delivered so much more!
The location was pretty good. In the Hutong close to a metro station. The beds were beautifull and ours was comfortable.
Some of the staff spoke great English, however the restaurant staff did not. Food came that we did not order, it was expensive for the quality and quantity of food we got and our order was wrong nearly every single time. Very funny the first night it happened, less funny at breakfast...
The staff are absolutely the stand out part of this hotel. They are so friendly and helpful and keen to practice their english, great for me who didn't speak a word of Chinese! They even made me some off-menu vegetarian dumplings from scratch, which was the best food I had when I was there. Easily accessible to public transport and walkable to Wangfujing and if you are a keen walker like me even the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square (45 minutes plus for those two)
The bed was a bit hard, but I've come to expect that pretty much throughout Asia. The toilet was a little bit funky, but again that would be tiny drains that don't allow paper to be flushed down them!
Helpful, friendly staff.
Room smelled like sewerage. Hard to find. Wi-Fi worked sometimes
Very nice courtyard and room
noise in the courtyard in the early morning door that you can lock with a small and ridiculous padlock.
Location Ease to metro and places of interest Staff were helpful Roof restaurant
The staff were very helpful and tried very hard to assist us with all our questions. They organised trips for us and nothing was too much trouble. They were always very cheerful and friendly. The breakfast choices in the rooftop cafe were good too.
Location in hutong. Helpful staff.
Very hard bed. But this seems to be common in China
The personal service and friendliness of the hotel compared to the imperonsal more expensive hotels (which we stayed in on another trip). The location was fasntastic, close subways (easy to use). A more genuine chinese experience all round. The rooms are small but adequate for your needs and cleaned daily with fresh towels. A most enjoyable stay. Will return again.

The staff speak in English, friendly, esspecially nice pretty girl Appo. Room is in chinese style, good relax
I had a reservation with included breakfast, but staff in bar wanted paiment, I mustgo twice to reception. To historical attractions need a taxi, by walk need 20-25 minutes
End of a Hutong, central and a short walk to a good Metro stop which made it easy to get to all key attractions by Metro (clean and cheap at only 20p a journey). The hotel has heaps of character but not very comfortable beds. Staff spoke excellent English and did everything they could to help us. They welcomed us in the internal elevated courtyard cafe even after we had checked out and had time on our hands before going to the airport.
The laundry man had a huge argument with Housekeeping which nearly came to blows. Their chef had left and despite great photos the only Western food available was breakfast. Food was very expensive at the hotel - suggest eating around the corner or even next door.
Central location Staff
Price Durty street
The staff was incredibly helpful and seemed genuinely interested in ensuring that our Beijing visit went well. Their English was fantastic and their local knowledge and tips also very helpful.
The staff are super helpful and friendly ...The location is right in the hutongs, so a great way to see real Beijing life. The room was large, the bed very comfortable, and the setting was absolutely beautiful with a large courtyard.
Good locationn, close to central Beijing and friendly staff
Despite of the price of almost 50€/night, the single room was very small with basic amenities.
The staff makes the hotel. They really care and it shows!
Very well design in the hotel, chinese hutong style. Good wifi
Shower not good in some rooms
loved staying in a courtyard hotel.
difficult for taxi drivers to find even with a card from the hotel. I highly recommend arranging for airport pickup with the hotel. It was expensive but money well spent. The room right was right behind the front desk and was quite noisy.
Fantastic food - definitely go for the Chinese menu not the western one The rooms are well fitted out
Expect the toilets to block The location is in a pretty seedy area but its relatively close to everything Don't expect a clean bathroom - wear shoes!
The hotel room had a Chinese traditional design. The hotel is "close" to the metro - which is ~15min walk to the two different metro stations (which was really convenient)
There was basically no window in the room. The bed was not comfortable and it was hot and humid in the room.
Tube station within 10mn walk Located in a quiet street Staff friendly
We got a room in lower category due to booking error Street can be difficult to find for taxi drivers Breakfast service was slow
Proximity to sights
Pick ups were at the top of the road rather than at the hotel.
This hutong hotel has a very Chinese feel to it. Despite being located in an alley, it is very safe. Staff are helpful and friendly.
There were mosquitoes in the room. We signed up for a tour to the Great Wall and we found that we paid a little more than guests who booked from their hotels. That's fine, but the tour also brings you to shop for jades which was not that I was keen on. Thankfully, we're not forced to buy.
