The location was great, next to main shopping street
The personnel was quite non-friendly. I asked to clean my clothes, this service was really expensive. Paid around 40 EUR to wash some socks and shirts.
Close proximity to East-West Nanjing Road Shopping area
Rooms are not spacious. Though the room & bathroom looks clean improvements are needed
Everything! Specially the possibility to make check-in earlier than mid-day and the amenities of the room having umbrellas, it was excelent because it was raining during our stay.
Local, Free wifi
Just Location + Internet
Staff Facilities Old
I would definetely stay again
They need to check the bathrooms.
facilities are old
need to up grand .
Cheap & cheerful. The room and bathroom was good for the price. The location was fantastic.
Concierge was useless- when we asked for help with our bags they just laughed and mucked around. Asked for extra pillow which took two day to arrive. Hotel advertises a luxury spa- a woman who comes to your room and watches a video on her phone while giving you a massage.
I think it was more than fine considering the price and the location.
Their facilities were quite outdated and their staff really didn't do a good job cleaning.
The hotel is only one minute walk away from the famous Nanjing Road and it is very near to the Bund. Our room was small but it was clean and the bathroom facilities were ok. The wi-fi was always available at the lobby and the rooms.
The staff cannot speak English. It took one hour for us to complete our check-in since we could not communicate. Since they cannot speak English, we could not ask for any address or any place to see, eat or shop. The staff of the concierge told us that they arranged a taxi for us to take us to the airport and that we should pay 350 RNB. We told them that we already arranged a taxi for 170 RNB and this time they offered 190 RNB. During our visit, we got used to Chinese people who were always trying to cheat you but we would not expect that from the staff of our own hotel.
Our room wasn't really modern but we had a good sleep. The room was very quiet and we slept well after a day of travelling around Shanghai. There are lots of shops and restaurants near the hotel so the choices of somewhere to eat are plenty. Its easy to get a taxi and there is a met station only 2 blocks away.
The breakfast was very Chinese and some of it wasn't very good. The toast was the best. I really wanted a good cup of green tea and couldn't get one either at breakfast or in the room. Most of the staff cannot speak English but some try and they were wonderful. However, there were some people who were rude and they ruined the experience.
Location just across pedestrian street market &15 minutes walk to the Bund ,the main tourist attraction of Shanghai. Close to 3 metro lines so you can conveniently reach anywhere in the city
Hotel interiors are dated.Beware of people offering you all kind of things, particularly if you are single male.
- front desk staff hardly speaks any English - breakfast is of poor quality for that price - dirty dishes - rooms are really dirty - even after showing the cleaning staff 3 times what needs to be cleaned in the bathroom - still dirty on departure day - everything but the ground floor of the hotel is dirty, old and/or broken - front desk does not answer phone-calls from the room when having a broken sink - needed to go down to organize help (not even the emergency buttton was answered)
Location, Cooperation from Staffs
Location. Comfortable room, altho' windowless. Nice complimentary fruit plate. All amenities of a 4 star hotel.
Interior room on 2nd floor but that is why the price was reasonable.
Absurdly close to People's Square. Really convenient.
The window faced another building, so might as well had no window.
facilitis , waiting on reception while check in, clenernes, it is 4 star hotel but all in this hotel is like old old hostel, incredibel but in 4 star hotel torn towel, hairdryer dont work i let hotel staff to know thath and they let thisnot working device in room 1210, Beds in this room are unbelivle hard , unposible to sleep like bed frpm wood, stayin in this hotel is horror
Charms Hotel – this is a charming NOT- but horrific hotel experience. I found out on arrival that I had booked a 'special' room, NO WINDOW – the desk clerk said ‘not good’ ( I noticed he had a trainee badge) – but there were no other rooms available, so what was the choice? The room, on the 2nd floor, was more than I had bargained for! The smell coming off the elevator was horrendous, some mix of disinfectants and sewer gas that made me grip my inhaler for dear life! Because it is al old hotel, the rugs were the Chinese variety of ‘crunchy’ rugs – they made a sounds like you are walking on popcorn. The room had a ventilator fan, but the air conditioner did not work – maybe in September they shut off the system. There were several small flying bugs that took my best hunting skills for the next hour, but they appear to be part of a gang, because they came back to reclaim their turf. It was a shame this was the last hotel I stayed in on this visit.
Location fantastic - very central Service great Low cost but this reviewer would pay more for better
Rooms are not maintained. Items are broken or tatty. Hot water slow Shower and bathroom filthy.
rooms need some improvement
Hotel changed price when I arrived. I booked for 21 nights. Was told that the price will increase after the first 10 days. Hotel did not honour initial booking price. Book at your own risk.
Location Big rooms for the price
Staff were SO unbelievably rude. I've actually never met such rude staff before. Breakfast was expensive and awful. Chinese style buffet. Hotel is old
