Central location in Guangzhou, on the Shamian Island. Good breakfast buffet. A rather small window with a limited view in the room. A nice view from the terrace of the swimming pool at the 9th floor, but with cold and quite dirty water. |

I really enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel. I also found the beds most comfortable. I also had a quick swim at the outdoor swimming pool. The hotel needs to upgrade its showers and baths. |

Good size room, attention to detail, courteous and helpful staff, wide selection of food, shuttle bus to nearby Exhibition Complex. Shower curtain and tiles around the bath needed a good clean. |

The room was very comfortable and clean. I stayed in the West building which is a totally separeate hotel. I'm told it is superior to the East Building. Don't do what I did and try to check in at the wrong one as they have separate receptions. Breakfast was ok, the staff were a little dingy, but very nice. Two minute walk through a beautiful area and you are at the riverside, where there are several restaurants in the open air. To sum it up, I liked it a lot, and when I come to Guangzhou on business again, this will be my first choice by a long shot. No complimentary bottled water. This is because they have a separate drinking water tap in the bathroom, but mine was really, really slow. But then, I would rather have the water bottled anyway, as I feel more confident. After all, it's not like this is the cheapest hotel on the list, so why skimp here. Some might say I'm being a cheapskate, but "Hey!" it's the principle of the thing, right? Bad marketing move in my opinion, sack the beancounter! One other little item: I had paid and had the funds taken from my card the month before I travelled (during Canton Fair you cannot cancel once you have booked, so fair enough), but when I reached the hotel they were about to take it again. A phone call was needed. Shouldn't happen! |

Proximity to the business I had to conduct. Free computer and internet access in the room. Reasonable room rate. Enjoyed the breakfast. Friendly staff. While not all the staff spoke English, you have to realize that you are in a foreign country (to put things in perspective). Comfortable bed. |

Great staff, very helpful and kind. Peaceful area. The decoration need some refreshing especially the carpets which is not giving a clean sensation altogether. Nice and romantic location, good restaurants around. Did not like the business center that is make you pay for a piece a paper to print, or for the use of internet, though it's supposed to be free from the room etc... |

Our room was huge in size and wonderful value for money. The location was superb on a quiet island but very handy to shopping, the underground train system and excellent restaurants. The staff were wonderful and if we could not understand eachother effort was made to find someone who could. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. |

Cordial, well-trained staff that made a great effort. Fast and free internet , as well as a good in-room computer were much appreciated. The room was well furnished, spacious and overall good value. Slightly musty smell in the room and elsewhere - more of a gz problem thhan the hotel's fault; the humidity in gz can be staggering. |

impeccable cleanliness of the room and bathroom, beautiful decor (we had a business room in the West Building, which had separate meeting and sleeping areas and plenty of space to move about), comfortable bed, free internet access, gratis tea and cake every day for the two of us and really helpful staff. special compliments to front desk manager Vicky who helped my wife and myself on quite a few occasions during our week's stay. the hotel is not that central as claimed in the other reviews. be prepared to travel by taxi (approx. 15 mins) or metro if you plan to see the real downtown Guangzhou and visit the best restaurants and shops in town (quality-wise). however, the hotel area is safe, full of nice little art shops, great for a romantic evening stroll and remarkable for its collonial-style architecture, location close to the river bank. what really caused inconvenience was the broken toilet bowl with an extremely archaic flushing mechanism. breakfast below average, beware of the sour milk and joghurts. housekeeping wanted to charge us RMB 50 for a smudge of mascara on the blanket cover - luckily, the issue was solved in our favour after a short debate. |

Hotel is placed in very nice, old area very near to the center. Starbucks is very near to the hotel so it's easy to get morning coffee :) The window is halfly covered by a wall so room is very dull in the morning.. |
