It was unfortunate that the washroom had a little bit of sewer smell, and that the water pressure in the shower was rather small. The towels also seemed like a tad too old for such a grand hotel.
Front desk staff was helpful in general, but could also afford to smile more and be more friendly.
First thing I saw when I entered the room was a small bear placed on each of our twin beds. It was a very sweet touch.
The lobby was very big, so was the hotel, which had a small garden in the middle. The bell boy promptly helped us with our luggages, turn on lights and introduced us to the main amenities.
The room is very spacious, and lighting controls were conveniently located within arm's and leg's length of the bed.
We were later told by our driver that the hotel just had a refurbishment not long ago, so everything is good and new. We were also told that the location is not very central, but we were told that it should only cost around RMB10 to get to most of the places we wanted to go, ofcourse notwithstanding Railway stations and such. Guilin is not a big city, so location is really not that important.
