I liked the location. It was one subway stop from where we were doing most of our business, and if we had had more time to explore the area, there were several international restaurants within easy walking distance.
Overall, the property felt a little older than another hotel we had stayed in nearby, but the other hotel was much more expensive than this one. The triple suite had one of it's three beds on a raised level. The steps up to this level were a wooden piece that was not connected well and did not feel as safe as I would have expected. I could feel myself sink a cm or 2 when I stepped onto the raised floor.
Lots of space and very handy. Plus breakfast included. Good Value.
Entry is front street 1 escalator and a large set of stairs next to the escalator. So if escalator is going down and you are arriving with your bags to go up you have to carry up the stairs.
Helpful staff. Room is quite spacious with many shelves and table, and large window. Not far from Zoo Metro station, easy to find just walking along the main road.
Very limited English knowledge. A bit overpriced for the state of the room. Room needs renovation, it's rather older and worn out than how it looks in the photos. Shower drain was stuck and causing some flooding, leaving your feet soaking in the water. Another drain hole (at higher position) was actually draining the water and preventing complete flooding, which looks like poor design. Cleanliness not too bad but not great neither in general, though I caught a cockroach-like insect crawling out of the shower drain. Breakfast has some decent cooked food but quite limited selection, but it's mostly gone if you arrive too late. Unsafe power plugs, the block of plugs was collapsing into the wall if pressing too much, some plugs not working, bathroom plug was cracked and dangerously right by the sink. "City view" is an euphemism, not nice first floor view on a busy traffic road. The window handle was broken and didn't close properly, allowing street noise to get in, and was not fixed still after reporting it twice. Other loud noise from other rooms/corridor/street could be heard at times. Using TV requires to understand complex menus written in Chinese. Smoking smell was seeping into the room at times. Avoid credit cards, they don't seem to know how to use them properly. Cleaning equipment permanently parked in the corridor restricting its passage. The entrance was a bit of a building site at times. Hotel is at the first floor without elevator, only an escalator which is shut down at some times.
Close to metro station-- Zoo. Hotel is on 2nd floor ajdacent to a restaurant not related to hotel. Room is large and clean. I would consider staying there again if garanteed a room opposite side of street--otherwise, I'd rather pay a little more and get much quieter/ better.
Breakfast was not apetizing. Oily food; little choice. I asked for a quiet room and was given a room facing the extremely busy street with all the related noise. It seemed impossible for them to change me at the time of my arrival-- lady at reception spoke no english, contrarily to personnel who were there next AM-- but by then I simply gave up, as I had one night left. I never was able to figure out on my own how the TV worked (no english instructions). Also a few lights did not work in the room and broken window swivel.
no lift had to climb a flight of stairs to get to the lobby not recommended for family with children or elderly. The front of the hotel was in total darkness when we first arrived.Staff barely speak English but however tried their best to help.Breakfast was bad.
kind and helpfull staff
lack of Standard hotel facilities and Services(no restaurant,no lobby, poor wifi Access...)
COMFORTABLE & CLEAN.
ENGLISH SPEAKING IS PROBLEM
5 minutes walk to Metro 5 minutes walk to Zoo Lots of restaurants below hotel, Not just Chinese, Indonesian Japanese and many others. Surprisingly quite for being on the first floor above busy road. Good place to sleep and rest for the night. More positives than negatives. Happy to recommend
Asked for double bed got 2 singles. Wifi, although in room, signal very unstable, told to use what ever room we could tune into. As they all had same password. Requested city view room, impossible as all room are on the first floor, so more of a "street view" than city view. Shower head kept falling out of holder. Tiny room for a family with a one year old and 2 and half months worth of luggage. More positives than negatives. Happy to recommend
Loving the hospitality and warmth of the staff. They don't speak fluent English but they really are trying hard to understand and help us, whether finding taxi, directing us with the map also recommending the neighborhood specialty. They always try to greet and chat with guests. Shuttle bus to Canton Fair is helpful and its free.
The breakfast buffet is not variative, we ate the same food for 4 days. The noise from construction site next building. There is no floor mat in the bathroom.
the staff were very helpfull and friendly
worst breakfast, noise, the hotel is on the second floor with no elevator, no english TV except China CCTV news
Location, restaurants nearby. Stuff was very good. breakfast was good too.
We changed the room because the first room they gave us was very small. so needed to change it to bigger one. Bathroom has glass walls, so it's uncomfortable for 2 men sharing the room. otherwise the hotel was good.
The hotel is located very good easy to go by metro exit zoo B or C they come on the same side on the street next to each other go to the right and walk 8 min next to the hotel are some restaurants the malysian restaurant on the right side of the hotel is very good. Friendly staff and very helpfull. stayed here for two times and i will come back again if i need to go to Guangzhou.
For this price and this comfort i think it is the best hotel in guangzhou for this aera. Nice staff.
when you have heavy bag, it is hard to take the stair. Air con not so powerful.
location proximity to food and transport
Wi-Fi kept dropping put
Staff were very polite and helpful and offered very good advice on how to travel about using the subway.Good location - near Subway. Good Wifi connection in rooms. Staff can speak English. Rooms were very clean. Sloped-ceiling design makes the room feel cozy and transparent wall for the bathroom makes the small room look spacious. Breakfast was adequate.
There should be instructions in English on how to operate the TV.
Room Air conditioner Wi-fi Breakfast
No elevator to road level Booking confirmations system poor Only local credit cards are accepted They preferred to pay by RMB
very bad hotel don't try food very bad
Location and staff
Slow internet. Television is difficult to operate
We like the space, the friendly night shift staff during our stay & check out, the warmth kitchen staff, the location.
Breakfast could be earlier, to be started at 0630am and end at 1030am, rather a 0730-1000am. Socket wall is not attached firmly to the wall, every time we attach or detach our chargers, we need to be extra careful to avoid any detachment of wall rather than our chargers.
The staff spoke good English
The first room 577 was not clean at all...so we changed to 559 which was much cleaner. However the hotel makes in general an impression of an Chinese love hotel
Staff was good and helpful. Spoke fluent english.
Location was so so
Kind of liked the lay out of the room.
I was awoken by drilling at 8am the morning after i arrived at midnight. Breakfast was a sham. Pics on the Internet not what you see when you get there. The air conditioning was broken. I asked to be moved to another room but they insisted on fixing it while I was in there. So I had workmen trooping in and out of the room. Staff were friendly but it didn't make up for the horrible service I got being my 1st time in China. I had insect bites all over. Horrible experience.
An English speaking gentleman was very helpful at reception, without his info we were no ideas regarding the local area. There are lots of restaurants and stores, shops around the corner.
There is a reasonable breakfast included but I stopped eating once I saw the lady uses only one cloth to clean tables, benches and food trays.
Near Zoo subway, 40$ night
The hotel is well located to the canton fair ground. There is also a shuttle service to the fairground. They upgraded our room to bigger one. will stay again
