Xi'an Green Forest Hotel is in a great location, just under half a mile from Anyuanmen subway station (Line 2) and a 22-minute walk from Tangdaminggong Hanyuandian Relic Site.

Located steps from the old city wall, Xi'an Qixian (7 Sages) Youth Hostel features a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi in public areas. There is a restaurant in the hostel.

Han Tang Inn is a boutique hostel inside a traditional residence in central Xi’an. It has bike rental services and a 24-hour front desk. Massage services are available.
Score from 331 reviews Very good
The bed was remarkable. This is important because china hostels usually have hard rock beds which make impossible to have a good rest. Makes the difference. Staff was nice and the pub downstairs is very lively. Party nights and live music. Great atmosphere.
Food in the pub was a bit overpriced for what it is (mainly western food) Cakes and milkshakes were a bit disappointing, and the burgers a bit too grease. the rest we tried was good. A bit cold in the room. Can't control the system's temperature.
Very clean, comfortable hostel. The tours were well run.
The food and drinks were expensive. Their sister hostel down the street was cheaper and had a better range.
Everything was in order. Good staff great services
I stayed few nights.
The location is near to the drum and bell tower and muslim quarter.
I hope they have heating facilities in their rooms.
We stayed in a double room which was of a really high standard. Clean and high quality, particularly the bathroom which had a proper shower not a wet room as if often the case in China! The bar & cafe area is cool, with good (if slightly expensive) food. The staff were helpful as well, we even had a free pick up from the station which went v smoothly.
The Cleaniest place ever!
The Bar was too expensive!
Staff were very welcoming and helpful. We booked on their trip to Terracotta Warriors and enjoyed an fascinating day in the company of fellow residents. The lounge/reception area was lively and offered an easy meeting place. Refreshments were available to purchase throughout the day and the bar provided live entertainment at night.
Really I like this hostel, is more like a hotel style but the best are the sandwiches and the staff specially Rose that helped me a lot with all the reservations thanks Rose!!!
Good location. Helping stuff. Nice room
-The night staff in particular was very helpful and easy-going. -It is really quite an affordable place to stay if you're content not being in a luxury hotel.
-There doesn't appear to be much control over who is smoking in the rooms or not. (However, it's China, so non-smoking is somewhat of a non-issue all around.) -The day staff was helpful but seemed slightly bothered with questions.
I liked the availability of tours, cleanliness of the rooms, nice shower, location and the breakfast and coffee!
The staff was not too knowledgeable on how to find places for shopping, massage and so on and they ended up sending me to an address that no taxi driver was able to find.
the bar with good music the shower separed
breakfast is expensive, the date of the bottle of beer was past one year! you need the key to access at the floor,so you must go to the room at the same time if you are 2, because without key no light
Hantan House is perfect for the relaxed, laid back, casual trip to Xian. It has simple but good rooms, simple but good showers in the room, and it has safe, healthy, tasty home cooking. Wendy at the front desk is full of information. She booked the Tang Dynasty Dumpling Dinner and got us superb seats. You do not have to book with an agency to get good seats!!! The hostel's location is central and easy to walk the North South/East-West streets. Hantang House is off the main busy streets, on a residential side street. Do not be taken back by this street's appearance. It is a safe area. A convenient store is across the street and a hair saloon is around the corner. Others in the hostel were friendly and good conversations were easy to find.
You need to bring your own body washing soap. Our shower stall was a bit moldy in the corners. (However, there were shower slippers provided)
Good place to meet people, some staff is very helpful and speak good english, good location and close to local foods, evening entertainment.
Dead flies on the walls, shower floor a bit grimy, no free toiletries (that's ok, since it's a hostel...), room and common area quite dark. Food was overpriced. We were told reception could help us with getting a taxi to the airport shuttle bus. But after trying to stop one ourselves with no luck, we returned to the hostel where receptionist Michael just shrugged, pointed at his wrist watch and said it'll be hard to get one at this time, also that there's no taxi booking service to the shuttle, only to the airport. As he was the one who booked our flights and gave us the location of the shuttle bus, he could have informed us of this earlier, nor did he bother to tell us there was a taxi stand nearby we could try. Very unhelpful.
Friendly and very helpful personnal at the Hotel, very near from the Bell and drum Tower, 10mn by foot clean and cheap room You can have a peronn who came for you at the train station to show the way
to have a bedroom just above the bar, so don't expect to sleep early (before midnight), and just in front of the free fountain : it is noisy. The prices of the bar.
Excellent position, warm ambience.
separate payment for shampoo, bathfoam, soap and handtowel.
Tremendous staff, even in the face of English-only-speaking travelers, who accommodate requests with a smile & terrific assisstance; particularly Michael and Mikki! Location is superb - 5mins walk from metro; 10mins from either Muslim Quarter (great for street-food dinner), both Drum & Bell Towers; 20min walk to City Wall; and about 35-40min walk to main Xi'an train station. Wi-Fi in bar/dining area only, not in rooms. On street with plenty of convenience stores and street food vendors if you don't want to venture too far. Taxi can drop you to door, but insist, otherwise they will drop you to either end of the Alley (which isn't too far a walk - about 2mins - if they do). Not to be confused with Hantag Inn (on same street/alley).
Bar is frequented by local Chinese, rather than hostel guests, who tend to get quite drunk and vomit in the toilets. Live music in bar is a bit loud if you want to just sit and chat, but provides an atmosphere, even if not quite what you expect of usual live music offerings
The bar and the food served at the restaurant.
The shower was dark, dirty and very uncomfortable. It was awful.
Good location, good price. Michael very helpful.
Shower grout had mildew. Looked dirty. Loud music at night from lounge.
Very good base for exploring Xi'an and good offers for tours of terracotta warriors. Clean and fairly big sized rooms with tv and an English movie channel!
No lift and quite money-focused! There's a price for every damage! But other than that the staff are very friendly and very helpful.
Clean room, comfy bed Good communal area Fast wifi (for China!) Staff very helpful Good value excursion arranged to see Terracotta warriers by hostel Not easy to find so dont arrive late at night by airport bus as it doesnt drop you off where it states
Noisy upstairs bar area full of Chinese people smoking and drinking lots of shots! We booked a king room but got a twin. When we asked to change was told there was a problem that night (ie suspect someone was in it!)
Location was fantastic. Inside the city walls, reasonable close to Bell Tower (short walk). Muslim quarter within easy walking distance, as is metro stop. Fantastic price for what you get. Room clean (though the bathroom has a note saying that towels used as mats would be charged for). Number of restaurants to chose from 1 block to the south, and a very reasonable (cheap and good) hot-pot 'hole-in-the-wall' right next door. Small market right across the street for snacks, drinks, etc. No elevator; still, suggest higher floor better due to street noise (not vehicle traffic, but LOUD local voices). Noise from other rooms not a problem. Floors use "European" numbering - the 1st floor is 1 floor up. Even considering all the flaws, would definitely stay there again. The location and price can't be beat.
My biggest complaint was that even though Booking.com said they accepted Visa as payment, it was a big hassle. First, they would not accept Visa, insisting on cash. I did not feel like depleting my rmb, and after a long day traveling, not interested in trying to find an atm. They finally agreed to accept after I produced the Booking.com's reservation copy saying Visa would be accepted, but, up-front, they told me they would pass along to me their visa fee. This is illegal, and a violation of the Visa business agreement. Just left a very sour taste. Wi-fi VERY hit and miss - connecting with the router, no problem, but getting an ip address... much more difficult. Better in the AM than at night. Left luggage did not seem to be all that secure: in an open basement down a long stairwell. Wouldn't seem to be any accountability. OK, it's a hostel... no complimentary amenities, but for sale in the room at reasonable prices (no problem, I carry my OWN toothbrush, toothpaste, extra soap, shampoo, etc.) But please, cut the "we're being 'green'" self-hype. Maybe you have to request clean linens. We never got any, but not a problem: as a couple, fit in 1 twin anyway, and after 3 days, switched to the other. Friends might not have that option. Likewise, after a couple of days, took our well-used towels down to the end of the hallway and requested replacements - exchanged with no problem. While the tours arranged were without shopping, the one to the terracotta warriors can easily be done on your own, the guide not adding all that much. In fact, it had a bit of stereotypedness to it: "Here's the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, you can't enter, so take your PHOTO (singular), and let's go." More severe, while visiting the 3 pits, the guide left out the IMPORTANT museum (solved by returning on our own the next day).
Hantang House is more like a hotel than a hostel. The structure is nice and well maintained and it is clean. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was modern – much appreciated – and the bed was comfortable. Our room was fairly well sound proofed; we were not disturbed by the activities of other guests or by the noise from the bar. We enjoyed our stay here and would certainly rebook if we find ourselves in Xian again.
The beer and food costs are quite high but you can easily obtain either, for a much more reasonable cost, in the neighbourhood – that is what we chose to do.
Love this place alot, strategic location, good facilities, and very clean place. I think this is a perfect place for any one, either you travel alone, or in group.
The staff not that friendly
Friendly english speaking staff Bar on the ground floor Live music concert
Location of the hotel is a bit spooky if you are arriving late at night. Don't forget that underground passages are closed during night, keep it in mind if you are going to the hostel by foot.
