Staff very friendly Cheap cocktails Nice room
The code of wifi given was not the right one
Helpful and friendly staff Great value rooms Good facilities and services
The people at the reception desk were incredibly helpful and kind and the food was surprisingly good.
The beds were the most comfortable thing ever, our room felt pretty spacious and the shower was clean and modern with one of those rain-like shower head things. The street we were on had quite a few little restaurants with cheap food.
The bar is pretty expensive and a bit smoky, but also has a nice atmosphere and table football so you could just not buy anything and hang out there anyway.
Nice staff at hangtang inn, she gave a suggestion for travelling to the terra cotta warriors.
Good Location, Comfortable room.
Receptions not friendly Food and Drink are expensive.
Location is good, environment is good, cost is good.
Toilet has bad smell, took several days to disappear.
Very nice atmosphere in the bar very friendly staff
The room is old no lift the room is very dark the buidling is old
It was a good atmosphere, great location, great western food and helpful staff
It's a hostel so the rooms are bare minimum and the beds weren't very comfortable. It also got a bit loud in the middle of the night from drunk backpackers but that's to be expected in a hostel.
The room, when they finally gave it to us a DAY LATE, was clean. It has a decent bathroom.
When we attempted to check in, after a 6+ hour train ride into Xi'an, the staff told us that they expected us "10 hours" later "because that was what was indicated." This was nonsense. I also asked if the room would actually exist in 10 hours, or had they really just given our room away. They finally admitted they gave it away and initially suggested we find another hotel for the night and come back the next day. We never got our room our night, had to stay at a sister HOSTEL (this is not a hotel) down the road, and then pack up again and move back to this raging disappointment the next day. It completely ruined our day in terms of being able to be out of the door to see what we were there to see. To make it worse, the "Standard King" we booked (and were assured was what we would get) was actually a twin room. They don't have King beds anywhere is my guess. Booking should be ASHAMED for suggesting this place basically, but they probably have no idea. If you are backpacking and want to stay in a dorm for cheap, maybe consider this. The staff at the sister HOSTEL (Hantang Inn) was much better.
Great place to stay, would not hesitate to return. They have loads of helpful information, and the staff is fantastic. They can arrange tours and day trips for you, taxi to/from airport, etc. We loved it.
Excellent English. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.
Not value for money, rooms were ordinary, overpriced and you had to even buy the soap. Every service was overpriced except laundry.
Best hostel I've ever stayed in. The staff were great. The bar area was always lively with other travellers and locals. The room was very clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on in a hostel. Fantastic hostel. I will definitely be returning to Xi'an in the future, and I'll be staying here again.
The internet was a bit dodgy - but that's the case all over China. The only other issue is that the bar allows smoking. These are both minor negatives.
the breakfast price is advertised on booking.com as 28.00 usd, but actually is much more expensive. They give you a breakfast menu, like any other place and you have to pay for what you order. Is the same as going to any other restaurant to have breakfast. And the food price at Hantang House is expensive.
Great location, near bell tower and subway, friendly staff, very cheap and comfortable
Everything. Staff were knowlegeable and location was convienent to many areas that we wanted to visit. They offered tours at a reasonable rate. Had good food and beverages on site that was most welcome before an early morning adventure or late night return to the hostel. Met people from all over the world which was a great experience. Would come back and recommend to anyone.
Perfect location. Amazing dorms (real matress! Royal bathrooms).
Cafe downstairs very expensive, no other common area. Wifi not very good.
Centrally located, near the drum and bell towers as well as the Muslim Quarter (must-see!) Limited western style food in lobby Live music on certain days, good atmosphere Knowledgeable staff with good English skills.
Rooms are not regularly cleaned! The shower tank was moldy and unpleasant; A price list of every item in the room to be charged to you - in case you break or damage - makes you feel like you are not a guest but a common criminal; The Wi-Fi reception in the room is exceptionally poor (if you get it at all). The reception in the lobby area is better.
The staff speaks in english very well. They are also very well prepared to handle not-chinese guests. They have a lot of services, like laudry service, tour service, free good quality maps to use in the city. They have english breakfast and belgian beers.
Very friendly and efficient staff. Excellent location, close to the main sights. Comfortable, more like a hotel than a hostel. Convenient tours to be booked right at the hostel desk.
Very clean, comfortable, good food, good bathroom, good bed and pillow! good value for money!
Staff could be pushy in selling you tours, even though we clearly said we were not interested. It is perfectly possible to go to the terra cotta army by yourself and public transport. No need to book a tour with a mini bus.
Good Location. Went on the tour to the Terracotta warriors, fairly priced. Only stayed one night but the food at the hostel was great.
