I liked the common place, it's nice to have a beer there. The beds are comfortable. The staff is young and nice and willing to help you. It's near the train station.

The room was plenty of mosquitos, really dirty, the bathroom was floor-hole type and it smelt really bad.The place was hidden, difficult to find.

As we were travelling on the train, it was perfect for us as it's directly opposite the train station just behind New Plaza Hotel and Home Inn. However the map on booking is completely wrong! We followed directions from another traveller who had posted them in her review comments thankfully... Bed was quite comfy and staff friendly.

In general the place is depressing and dirty. We stayed in double room. Mould and damp all over walls, smelt a bit of urine, sheets questionably clean, felt very dirty. A paint job would do it wonders but not sure it would get rid of the depressing and dirty feel. It's very cheap, however, there are other nicer places to stay just an extra 5 mins walk from station for the same price.

Helpful staff, they recommended better route for us.

Some of us got the underground room, and it got some smelly thing. While others in higher level room get good deal.

The lounge was nice and the hostel feels cozy.

I didn't like the shared toilets & showers, they could use some maintenance.

Free wi fi in communal areas

Security - room felt insecure, not good locks Toilets and showers were not v.clean Bedding didn't look clean and no mattress protector Lots of things were broken - overall the place looked down. It was cheap but a hostel like this can be basic but clean at the same time.

The dorm room had heat and was consistently warm

The location shown on the map that comes in the conformation email is completely wrong and directions were vague. This made it very difficult to find.

The staff is very friendly and helpful and spoke a good English. The hostel is located very central, only 2 minutes from Guilin railway station (after you found it). Several bus stations are near to the hostel, including long distance buses to Yangshou and Longsheng .I paid for a single room 60 RMB per night. For such a low price you can't expect very much and that's why the cost-performance ratio is pretty good. All in one it was convenient.

Like I said and many others too, the hostel is not easy to find. Don't trust the map. Here the way: From Guilin railway station cross the street and you will see the Guilin New Plaza Hotel. On the left side is a small lane, where a Home Inn hotel is located. Behind Home Inn go right and you will see the sign of How Flowers Hostel. That's it. The rooms are small and looks old and a bit dirty and there is nothing in than a bed, air condition and a kettle. No towels provided. The shared showers/toilets are clean, but toilet paper will only refilled in the morning (but if you are familiar with China you will know, always have your own paper with you).

Absolutely nothing: my stay in the mongolian tent was way better than the one terrible night that I spent in this "garage". I would't recomend it to anybody.

Everything: the whole place is dirty, the rooms smell like sewer and the lobby is full of rubbish all around: it seems like nobody has taken care of the place for ages. Awful.
