The breakfast buffet was excellent value and the staff were friendly and very efficient. The choice of food for dinner wa not as good as the hotels we stayed in, in Beijing or in Xi An. Nor was it really value for money. The chinese food in the other two hotel restuaureants was much better in quality, choice and value for money. We stayed for 5 nights and only ate dinner in the Shanghai restaurant on the first night. |

Facility to get booking for sight-seeing tours. Possibility of late check-out on the last day. Staff in the front office can speak English which is quite helpful. Assistance with reliable Taxi service. I noticed two counterfeit notes of RMB 100 when I was on my way out of the country in Shanghai airport. I had exchanged money on two occasions from the counter in the Hotel. Although I am not sure if these currency notes came from the Hotel counter, but the last two conversions were actually done in the Hotel itself. Need to be careful. |

Room was fine and clean, bed a bit hard though but ok.Room value was fair compaired with the price, as it was discount time. The reception staff was really not professional, extremely poor English language, unfriendly attitude and service. I asked them to mark the hotel on the map of Shanghai, there were only Chinese text on the map, after long time, three people checking the matter, they marked the hotel in wrong block, two streets away from the real location.PÅeople were smoking in the lobby, air was very mad and smelly. My "smoke free room" had been smoking room before and it still stinked and there was ashtray too, not good in so called "non smoking room". |

Situation in the City center near Nanjing road and the Bund is great Cleanliness should be improved, beds are much too hard, carpets should be renewed and rooms refurbished |

Closeness to the city core. The room given was smaller than advertised. Prices are higher than if booking manually. |

I am happy with the hotel overall, and had nothing to complaint about for the kind of price. Breakfast could have more variety. |

Fairly close to the East Nanjing Rd. and easy to navigate the area on foot. Efficient staff. The food ordered by room service was cold. (cold french fries, cold bacon, cold eggs). In hindsight, I would have chosen a hotel even closer to the metro, as it was very hot outside. |

The location is okay, however not really close to the shopping center Xujiahui. Some of the staff was not really friendly. The hotel is age-old. I didn’t see any renovation. The room was stinky and I had an insect flying around in my room. Other than that the bedcovers and towels didn’t look clean. In total it was not comfortable at all. The money was not worth it. |

It standard business hotel without atmosphere, but in good location for turists and very very good rate value for money. If your company will send you to business trip you will probably stay in hotel like this, if you looking for something "made in china" choose another hotel... Only neighbearhood is quite ugly, but for the money... |

Centrally located Well equiped, but the furnishing shows all his age. Would need a bit of restyling. Very big hotel, not very "cosy" |

Shorter distance to Yan'an road where my business meeting is. Easy to get cab. Room service was fast though limited choice for rice/noodle dishes. Internet was good but cable too short, had to push laptop so close to the wall. Not many eateries near hotel. There was a tout outside the hotel that keeps pestering me to go to his karaoke/pub, following me across two blocks. Toilet spoil when I checked in. Toilet position in a weird corner that's hard to sit properly. Bath - when the bath curtain is drawn it blocks out the lights. Can hear outside noise and conversation easily as with most budget hotels. |

The hotel was situated in the old central area of the city very near all the touristic attractions. We chose this particular hotel because of its traditional old english appearence, spacious room and halls. We had an excellent international and chineses breakfast too. We really enjoyed our stay there, The only problem we had was with the telephone in our room. It didn't work for international calls and the operator didn't spoke english! We had to go in the reception hall to make our calls. |

the hotel is very close to all the ,major tourist sites in shanghai, just remember to have the hotel address and name in chinese, as taxi drivers do not read of know the english name for many roads and hotels. Staff are a little cold but that manily because they are not confident in their english. The few who could speak english were very helpful. just the cigerette smoke that seaps through the air vents, but hey they love to smoke out here! lol |

The room was quiet, clean and confortable, though smallish. Internet is priced at 0.4RMB/min, with an upper limit of 60RMB/day, so quickly checking your e-mail costs next to nothing. The hotel is about 15min walk from the main shopping street - but also from the nearest subway station (E. Nanjing Rd.). There is a kettle in the room, and a couple of 24-hour stores nearby. Some of the staff members are not exactly fluent in English |
