The location is great for exploring the French Concession area, and close to subway, and the bustling Huaihai Zhong Road. The room was spacious and nicely laid out. Wi-fi is only available in the lobby, albeit at the same room rate. Neither CNBC nor Bloomberg is available in the room.

Location, air conditioning, nice room No wireless internet in rooms, only in the lobby. Surely a router on each floor could be organised. Breakfast is expensive if it is not included in your deal, it is a buffet breakfast and very nice but you are charged as much as a European hotel.

The location in the French concession is stunning. Very beautiful and astounding surroundings including the hotel itself. So many important places only a walk away. Staff is courteous and knowledgable. Shopping and suit making so close by. Many intriguing places to dine. The wing I occupied had frosted out windows in one of the most beautiful cities in The world. Maybe should have been warned or relocated to an alternative room

The location is exceptional in the heart of the shanghai old shopping district. Taxis are also readily available, but with nearby subway stations less than a block away, it made it even more convenient. Restaurants and a nearby McDonalds is around the corner, but their room service was inexpensive and offered a large variety from western to Asian cuisines. The rooms looks to be recently remodeled with updated marble bath and all the amenities such as fridge, cable tv, hot tea service, central air/heat, robe/slippers & toiletries. It's not hard to miss, retro building in the heart of a beautiful gated garden area. This is a locally run 5 star hotel owned by a large Chinese franchise, so you can't go too wrong. There was no window view, blocked out by tinted windows which felt strange. And it was also impossible to draft the air because the windows cannot open all the way. The hotel should upgrade to flat panel lcd TVs to make their rooms roomier. The business center lady was not very helpful when we asked for their services, but the concierge was always very friendly which made up for it.

The only thing we liked about the Jin Jiang hotel was its location, the centre of the city surrounded by shopping malls and have access to most Subway lines. The hotel staff was not helpful at all. Hotel also charge additional fees for using sauna as it never happens in 5star hotels. The Hotel is very old. The picture of the hotel on Agoda doesn't match actual hotel look. There were people that smoke on non-smoking floor somehow?! In general we would say that Jin Jiang Hotel is far behind the 5star rank by the service of hotel staff and comfort of the rooms its more feeling of 3 star and thus the prices in the hotel should go down to 3 star as well.

I booked the Cathy Building but I was not given a room in the Cathy Building, instead I was given a room in the South building. I was told that I had to pay more to stay at the Cathy Building. It was unexpected on my arrival, since I was tired on arrival, I did not insist on what was promised at the booking.

The concierge was unhelpful and curt. However, I noticed he was more accommodating towards caucasian guests at the hotel. Terribly disappointing.

Location, location, location (but to be fair the hotel's facilities were a close second). Whilst cleanliness of the room was great, cleaning staff ignored the "do not disturb" red light the first two days.

I absolutely loved the bed! It was maybe one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever slept on. I really liked the location too. It was ideal for shopping and getting anywhere else because the metro was so close by. The decor of the room was quite nice as well. I was really surprised that I could not see out the windows. They were clouded over to prevent you from seeing out to the apartment buildings across the way. Not being able to see out made me feel a litte closed in, but I did get used to it. I had never been in a hotel room with no way to see outside so I was a little shocked. This was my only complaint, but I would definitely stay here again.
