There are very few non-Chinese visitors in Shaoxing - which correlates with the fact that most descriptions and comments in various Lu Xun museums and other places relating to him are in Chinese only. Whatever is the cause and what the effect, both are regrettable. Also, I found surprising that there are not any Lu Xun's book offered for sale - not even in Chinese! Fortunately there is still another reason making the visit worthwhile: the Shaoxing's world-famous "wine" (huang jiu) can be tasted here better than anywhere else in the world.

The lake and boat ride was very nice.
The lake and boat ride was very nice. The city is 'just another Chinese city'. Walking through the old city is nice on a 'dry day'. Unfortunately, we had rain the three days! The Museums were also very nice

Shaoxing is a great base if you are interested in doing hikes in the nearby hills. The main attraction downtown is the Lu Xun birthplace street. Fushan Park and the old streets nearby are fun for a stroll.
Great hotel, great room with kitchen and laundry, and definitely the best staff, they helped us a lot with all our problems getting around the city and treated us very well all the time. The breakfast is very complete. There are many restaurants and mini markets in the area. Totally recommended if you are in the city for business or tourism, it is a good place to feel comfortable and surrounded by good people.
staff can't speak English ,My room was like a prison cell ,dark and blocked window ,next morning when i asked to change my room receptionist asked for double price per night.very close to textiles market and Starbucks was 100 feet away from hotel overall not happy with my stay.
Nice location, close to the main tourist areas but very calm at the same time.
Helpful and charming staff.
The hotel decor is pretty and the rooms are exactly as pictured. We stayed 4 nights. We were satisfied.
