Facilities were good and clerks were very kind.
EXCELLENT, fast and stable free Wi-Fi, comfortable bed and friendly English-speaking staff at the reception. The cheapest double-room in my life (aprox 10 eur).
TERRIBLY cold (I went in December), not even enough bed duvets. A good 25-minute walk from the train station.
the staff were helpful and friendly, amazing location in the old town.
wifi was not good enough and the room was a bit too damp and smelly.
the design of stairway fo the bunk bed is very nice and considerable.
no airconditioning during the hot summer and no secrety check at front desk in the late nite to aviod dangerious extremism. The pic of the Ad should be updated. The library and corridor is quite dusty and lack of renovation.
Friendly Stuff, great location, easy to find, great character with its architecture.
internet connection is unsatisfied, couldn't use gmail the whole time I stay, sometimes even google is not available.
Staff super friendly and helpful. Location easy to get to and close to cheap food and street beer. Would stay again 10/10
I was satisfy this hostel. Not bad
Our room was comfortable and adequate. The registration staff was consistently helpful. Our room was quiet in the evening (though our traveling companion one floor below us did have problems with other guests making noise rather late one evening). There is a nice variety of restaurants within easy walking distance, and the bus to downtown stops a block away.
Most of our plans included the center of town, and Kaiyue is a bit far away from the center--city bus service was good though. --We came to Qingdau by bus, and because of ice on the roads and buses not running, we had to delay our arrival a day. Calling the hostel to let them know and rearrange our stay turned out to be something of a nightmare: we'd call, and the person who answered didn't speak English and would just hang up instead of getting someone on the line who did speak English--even though we could speak enough Chinese to ask for an English speaking person. This happened several times before we got through! The bar/breakfast room was rather disappointing--it took them quite a while to cook get our three breakfasts ready, and it was hard to get our eggs prepared as we wanted. "Over easy" would sometimes come out "scrambled" for example. French toast is served without syrup--or anything else to put on it. We were surprised that the one evening we tried it, the bar didn't make mixed drinks, even though they have a list of them on the board. Huh? Communications with the bar/restaurant staff was a bit iffy.
I just wanted to spend a night before leaving Qingdao. Good location. Many restaurants, good transportation. Great lounge to drink a beer and relax. Young people atmosphere
Shared bathroom, but it was cheap. No elevator to go to 4th floor. Old furniture. You cannot ask for so few money and location.
The location was great and pretty easy to find too from the train station there are a lot of signs around to point you in the right direction. The lounge area is really cool and nice place to chill out and the communal toilets and showers were always clean and well kept. Ingrid one of the members of the reception staff was always very pleasant and friendly :)
The staff were at times a little unhelpful and the prices of food and drink in the lounge bar are a bit high I think and it's pretty unclear who pays member and non members prices they need to make it a bit clearer or the bar staff need to be more forth coming we paid non member prices a few times as we were never asked for the room key etc
Location is very good! Check out the old qingdao in this old district. The staff in the hostel is quite friendly, you'll have a homey stay here.
The building is old, for people who doesn't like non hotel kind of cleanness may have bad feelings
